Printer
A printer according to an embodiment includes a conveying unit, a holding unit, a supporting unit, a second detecting unit, and a control unit. The conveying unit conveys paper. The holding unit includes a light emitting unit configured to radiate light and a first detecting unit configured to detect the light reflected on the paper. The supporting unit supports the holding unit to be movable in an orthogonal direction orthogonal to a conveying direction of the paper. The second detecting unit is disposed on an opposite side of the light emitting unit across a paper conveying path, on which the conveying unit conveys the paper, and detects the light radiated by the light emitting unit. The control unit determines, based on a detection result of the second detecting unit, whether the light emitting unit is present in a position opposed to the second detecting unit.
System for building labels using an updateable graphic
In a system for building labels, such as adhesive-backed labels or tags produced on rolls or sheets for printing, an image or graphic of an arrangement of labels is displayed to a user and continuously updated in real time as parameters relating to construction of the labels are provided by the user in order to provide real time feedback. In one aspect, a user can be guided by the system to make various selections and/or inputs, such as selecting between rolls or sheets, types of material, size/measurements, shape(s), color(s), and the like, in progressing stages of a customized label build, with a displayed graphic of a corresponding arrangement of labels being continuously updated instantly at each stage to visually reflect the user's input. Upon completion, the system can communicate with an industrial machine to build the labels for the user consistent with the input as depicted by the graphic.
Printing device having RFID reader free from external force
A printing device includes a printing mechanism, a first member, a second member and a RFID. The printing mechanism is configured to perform printing. The first member has a portion constituting a receiving portion. The receiving portion configured to receive therein a holder. The holder retains therein a consumable goods and is provided with a RFID. The holder is contactable with the portion of the first member when the holder is attached to the receiving portion. The second member is movable relative to the first member. The RFID reader is provided at the second member and is configured to read data stored in the RFID.
Label printer with barcode shifting and scale incorporating such a label printer
A printing device includes a thermal printhead with a plurality of print elements. A controller is configured to identify an out of specification status of at least one print element, wherein the controller is further configured to determine whether printing of a specific print field requires use of the print element having the out of specification status and, if so, to determine whether a print location of the specific print field can be shifted such that the print element having out of specification status will be one of (i) aligned with a gap in the specific print field or (ii) offset to one side of the specific print field. A weighing scale incorporating the printing device is also provided.
Template processing device, print system, processing method of template processing device, and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing program
A template processing device includes a selection reception unit that receives selection of a template from available templates, a text input reception unit that receives an input of a text into the selected template, a storage control unit that stores the selected template and a related text that is at least a part of the input text in a storage unit in association with each other, a keyword input reception unit that receives an input of a search keyword for searching the template, an extraction unit that extracts, from the storage unit, the template with which the related text corresponding to the input search keyword is associated, and a display control unit that displays the extracted template on a display unit as an available template.
PRINTING DEVICE SETTING PRINTING AREA, ANCHOR AREA, AND ADHESIVE AREA IN TAPE FOR PERFORMING HALF CUT AT BOUNDARIES THEREBETWEEN
In a printing device, a controller performs at least one of a first area setting process and a second area setting process to set an anchor area and adhesive area next to two ends of a printing area based on an acquired length of an object. In the first area setting process the adhesive area is set to have a length to be a lamination length. In the second area setting process the printing area is set to have a length to be larger than or equal to the acquired length. The controller controls a cutter to perform the half cut to cut across the tape at a boundary between the printing area and the anchor area, and at a boundary between the printing area and the adhesive area, and to perform a full cut at one of ends of the anchor area and the adhesive area.
REEL LABELING
A system for labeling a reel of electrical components includes an automated robotic manipulator movable between a reel grasping position and a reel releasing position; a sensor positioned to scan a label on a reel as the reel is moved by manipulator from the reel grasping position to the reel releasing position, to gather initial reel information; a label generator configured to generate a new label with information based at least in part on the initial reel information; and a label actuator positioned to affix the new label to the reel as the reel remains held by the manipulator. The sensor may be a barcode scanner. The label generator may be a label printer. The label actuator may be a pneumatic actuator. The system may also have a stack of reels to be labeled. Also included is output receptacle to receive the reel after the new label is affixed.
INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, TAPE PRINTING DEVICE, TAPE PRINTING SYSTEM, METHOD FOR CONTROLLING INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, AND STORAGE MEDIUM STORING PROGRAM FOR CONTROLLING INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE
An information processing device is communicably connected to a tape printing device that performs printing on a tape. The information processing device includes an acquiring section that acquires a remaining tape length that is a length of an unprinted portion of the tape; an accepting section that accepts an operation of editing print data; a unit label length calculating section that calculates a unit label length that is a length per label to be created by printing, on the tape, the print data being edited; a printable sheet number calculating section that calculates, based on the remaining tape length and the unit label length, the number of printable sheets that indicates how many labels with the unit label length can be created using the tape with the remaining tape length; and a sheet number notifying section that notifies a user of the calculated number of printable sheets.
PRINTER DEVICE
According to one embodiment, the label printer includes a light irradiation unit that irradiates an area illuminated by external light where a label on which printing is completed exists with light, a light irradiation control unit that switches between light irradiation and non-irradiation by the light irradiation unit, a light receiving unit that acquires an optical signal from the area where the label on which printing is completed exists in synchronization with the light irradiation and non-irradiation by the light irradiation control unit, and a label presence or absence determination unit that determines the presence or absence of a label based on a first signal acquired by the light-receiving unit if the light irradiation unit is not emitting light and a second signal acquired by the light receiving unit if the light irradiation unit is emitting light.
Portable label printer
A portable label printer for printing content onto a surface of a label is provided. The label has a chip disposed therein. The portable label printer includes a main body, an RFID antenna assembly, a front cover unit, a back cover unit, and a print head module. The front and back cover units are disposed in the main body, and a paper exit port is formed between the front and back cover units. The RFID antenna assembly is disposed in the main body and adjacent to the paper exit port. The print head module is disposed in the main body and under the RFID antenna assembly. The label first passes through the print head module, and then passes through the RFID antenna assembly. When the label passes through the RFID antenna assembly, the RFID antenna assembly performs data reading or data writing on the chip of the label.
