Systems and methods for label creation using object recognition

Systems and methods create labels and include a mobile device including communication circuitry, an imaging device, an object recognition application, and a label creation application. A label printer includes printer memory and printer communication circuitry. The object recognition application is configured to analyze an image of a device taken by the imaging device and generate device data for the device in the image. The label creation application the uses the device data to automatically populate at least a portion of a label data entry screen. Once the label data entry screen is populated, the label creation application creates a print job and, via the mobile device communication circuitry, communicate the print job to the label printer to print at least one label sized specifically for the device.

A label preparation device includes: an editing target switching unit which switches an editing target label among a plurality of labels arranged in particular order, in response to an operation on a keyboard; and an editing screen display unit which displays an editing screen including a preview image of the editing target label. If there is a label immediately preceding the editing target label in the order, the editing screen display unit displays a left arrow object on a forward end side of the preview image. If there is a label immediately following the editing target label in the order, the editing screen display unit displays a right arrow object on a rear end side of the preview image.

The housing includes a front surface portion having a discharge port for discharging the recording medium on which printing is performed, a back surface portion facing the front surface portion, and a side surface portion connecting the front surface portion with the back surface portion. The printing system includes a holding unit connected to the housing at least at one end, and holding the reading apparatus above the housing. The holding unit includes a first fixing member for fixing to the back surface portion, and a second fixing member for fixing to the side surface portion.

The control device (28) includes a function of stopping the driving device (41) when the floating detector (22) detects a floating portion. The control device (28) includes a function of obtaining information specifiable a position of an abnormality occurrence portion based on the phase of the printing cylinder when the floating detector (22) detects the floating portion and the phase of the printing cylinder when the driving device (41) stops after floating detection and displaying the information on the display device (8). It is possible to provide a digital printing press capable of quickly specifying an abnormality occurrence portion detected during printing.

Recording apparatus

A recording apparatus includes an apparatus main body portion that contains a recorder that performs recording on a recording medium, and a panel having a display unit that displays various information and being capable of opening and closing an upper portion of the apparatus main body portion by pivoting about a first pivot shaft. The panel has an outer perimeter that includes two short sides and two long sides. The display unit has an outline that includes two short sides and two long sides and is provided on the panel so that a longitudinal direction of the display unit coincides with a longitudinal direction of the panel. The longitudinal direction of the panel intersects a direction of the first pivot shaft about which the panel pivots.
