Print device
A print device includes a tape mounting portion, a tape print portion, a tape discharge portion, a tube mounting portion, a ribbon mounting portion, a tube print portion, and a tube discharge portion. The tape mounting portion is configured such that a tape is detachably mounted in the tape mounting portion. The tube mounting portion is configured such that a tube is detachably mounted in the tube mounting portion along a predetermined direction. The ribbon mounting portion is configured such that an ink ribbon is detachably mounted in the ribbon mounting portion. The tape mounting portion and the ribbon mounting portion are disposed on a same side with respect to the tube mounting portion, and are disposed side by side along the predetermined direction.
PRINTER AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME
A printer includes a discharge unit, a first printing unit disposed along a sheet conveying path extending from the discharge unit and configured to print an image on a first sheet while the first sheet is conveyed from the discharge unit to the first printing unit and then to the discharge unit, a second printing unit disposed farther from the discharge unit than the first printing unit along the sheet conveyance path and configured to print an image on a second sheet while the second sheet is conveyed towards the discharge unit therethrough, using a printing method that is different from a printing method of the first printing unit, and a control unit configured to determine whether or not each of the first and second printing unit is in use and control only one of the first and second printing units to print the image, based on the determination.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING A PLASTIC DESIGN ELEMENT ON AN AUTHENTICATION DATA CARRIER
A method is proposed for producing a printed pattern containing a plastic design element on an authentication data carrier. For this purpose, individual starting images are provided by users. Printing data, which reproduce the starting image as a planar printed pattern, are generated from the individual starting images by combination with design specifications and boundary conditions. The starting image is applied in a first printing process as a planar printed pattern. Furthermore, an edge detection is carried out on the printing data in order to determine dominating edges in the starting image, which reproduce the contours of the motif contained in the starting image. A 3D printing template is created based on the dominating edges. A three-dimensional printed pattern is applied to the planar printed pattern in accordance with the 3D printing template in a second printing process.
Hybrid silk screen and direct-to-garment printing machine and process
A hybrid printing machine is described having both silk screening stations and a direct-to-garment digital printing station with a raster image processor to control a portion of a printing process.
