Paper management system, paper management method, and print control apparatus
A paper management system setting a paper information piece of paper stored in a sheet feeding unit in an image forming apparatus from a list of paper information pieces registers the paper information pieces with a favorite group, displays a list of the paper information pieces for each favorite group, and enables the list of the paper information pieces to be associated with a paper feed unit through the screen displaying the list.
Capacitance sensor
A device (100) includes a sensor (101) to determine a capacitance between a first metal piece (209, 309, 409, 509, 609, 709, 809, 909) coupled to a paper tray (213, 413, 513, 913) of a printing device (206, 306) and a second metal piece (207, 307, 407, 507, 607, 707, 807, 907) coupled to a paper width adjuster (212) of the printing device (206, 306). The device (100) also includes a controlled (102) coupled to the sensor (101) comprising a processor (103) in communication with a memory resource (104) including executable instructions to determine a size of paper in the paper tray (213, 413, 513, 913) based on the determined capacitance.
Printing apparatus and control method
In a printing apparatus, a control unit stops paper feeding driven by a driving unit for driving a paper feeding roller in response to a timing at which a printing medium reaches a conveying roller, if the printing medium has a first size, and stops paper feeding driven by the driving unit before a detection unit located upstream of the conveying roller detects the printing medium if the printing medium has a second size smaller than the first size.
Printer vacuum conveyor with adjustable active area
A printing system includes a driving belt configured to drive media through the printing system relative to one or more print heads and a vacuum conveyor system. The vacuum conveyor system includes a vacuum chamber cover having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, as well as a plurality of openings through the cover from the first surface to the second surface. A number of seals are disposed to match the location of openings. Each seal extends along the length of the vacuum chamber cover and is drivable to open or close a region with openings. A vacuum chamber below the second surface of the vacuum chamber cover is configured to apply a vacuum to the media through one or more of the openings that are open. The applied vacuum constrains the media on the driving belt by flattening it against the driving belt.
MEDIA EDGE LIFTING
In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, a media lifting device is described. The media lifting device includes a media lifting strip to sit on a media transport belt of a printing system. The media lifting strip is to raise a lateral edge of incoming media. That lateral edge of incoming media is a portion of the incoming media that is parallel to a media travel direction. The media lifting device also includes a clamp to affix the media lifting strip to the printing system.
HANDHELD PRINTING DEVICE WITH LIGHT SOURCE TO PROJECT LIGHT BOX
A handheld printing device includes a printing mechanism and a light source. The printing mechanism prints a swath of print material onto a print medium as the handheld printing device is moved across the print medium. The light source projects onto the print medium a light box. The light box has top and bottom edges corresponding to the swath and indicating where the printing mechanism will print the swath as the handheld printing device is moved across the print medium.
Printer
A printer includes a printer body including an installation area where a recording medium is installed, a print head that prints information on the recording medium, a controller, a movable guide that guides the side of the recording medium in the installation area, and a first switch that detects a position of the movable guide attached to the installation area. The controller performs a print control process corresponding to the width of the recording medium based on information obtained by the first switch.
Document transport device and image forming apparatus
A document transport device includes a placement portion, a slide member, a movable piece, and a detector. A document is to be placed on the placement portion. The slide member includes a document guide that contacts one lateral side of the document which is placed on the placement portion. The movable piece is provided to the slide member, and includes a shading pattern composed of plural patches that have plural densities corresponding to plural document sizes and having plural adjacent patch density differences that are different from each other. The detector detects a density of the shading pattern, and outputs an output signal for document size recognition.
Printing unit and printer
A printing unit, includes a head unit including: a thermal head; and a platen unit combined with the head unit. The platen unit including: a platen roller configured to feed a recording sheet while sandwiching the recording sheet together with the thermal head; a platen frame configured to support the platen roller in a rotatable manner; a sensor unit including: a sensor configured to detect the recording sheet; a connector connected to the sensor; and a connection portion configured to connect the sensor and the connector to each other; and a sensor holder, which is mounted to the platen frame, and includes: a plurality of connector arrangement portions through which a terminal of the connector is to be exposed; and a plurality of sensor receiving portions in which the sensor unit is to be received.
Liquid ejection apparatus
A liquid ejection apparatus includes a liquid ejection head configured to eject liquid from a plurality of nozzles to a medium and a plurality of caps configured to cover a plurality of nozzle groups. The plurality of caps includes a first cap group covering a first nozzle group positioned near the center of the liquid ejection head among the plurality of nozzle groups and a second cap group and a third cap group provided at positions sandwiching the first cap group in the width direction. The liquid ejection head is configured to execute a first idle ejection for ejecting liquid from the plurality of nozzles constituting the plurality of nozzle groups to the plurality of caps and a second idle ejection for ejecting the liquid from the plurality of nozzles constituting the second nozzle group and the third nozzle group to the second cap group and the third cap group.
