The guide part 20b has an inclined surface 20c inclined so as to be more spaced apart from a conveyance path for the recording medium 2 as the inclined surface 20c is more distant from the liquid ejection part 3a.
Printing apparatus including a detachable star wheel
A printing apparatus includes: a head configured to discharge an ink onto a continuous sheet to form an image; a platen including a support face that supports the continuous sheet; a star-wheel-unit holding unit disposed at a position that is downstream of the head in a transport direction of the continuous sheet and is opposed to the support face; and a star wheel unit configured to be attachable to and detachable from the star-wheel-unit holding unit and to support a plurality of star wheels configured to press the continuous sheet on a side of the support face.
Friction reduction system and method
A friction reduction system for reducing friction of an intermediate transfer member (ITM) of a printing system, while the ITM is guided along the printing system by a guiding arrangement. The friction reduction system includes a fluid reservoir mounted within the printing system, a fluid depositing arrangement disposed along the ITM, and a control mechanism, adapted to control depositing of fluid, from the fluid depositing arrangement onto the guiding arrangement or onto at least a portion of the ITM. Depositing of the fluid reduces friction between the ITM and the guiding arrangement.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A printer includes a printer body, a hopper, an open-and-close cover, a paper support, and a support holder. The hopper pushes paper up while supporting the paper. The open-and-close cover is able to be opened from and closed toward the printer body. The paper support is provided in such a way as to be able to be housed inside and drawn away from the open-and-close cover, and is configured to support the paper by being drawn out. The support holder supports the paper, together with the hopper and the paper support. The support holder switches between an upright orientation for being housed into the printer body and a tilted orientation for supporting the paper together with the hopper and the paper support by the opening and closing of the open-and-close cover.
MEDIUM-CUTTING DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND METHOD FOR CONVEYING MEDIUM
A medium-cutting device includes a medium-conveyance section to convey a medium in a medium-conveyance direction, a cutter to cut the medium conveyed by the medium-conveyance section, and a pushing part to push up a piece of the medium that is cut from the medium with the cutter.
Inkjet printer
An inkjet printer including a feeding device configured to feed a sheet in a feeding direction, a platen configured to support the sheet, a recording device configured to eject ink on the sheet, contacting members configured to contact the sheet, a detector configured to detect an end portion position of the sheet in a width direction, and a controller configured to control the feeding device and the recording device is provided. The contacting members are arranged at intervals in the width direction, and the controller performs a suppression process in which at least one of the feeding device and the recording device is controlled to suppress a contact of the sheet with the recording device when the end portion position detected by the detector is a position between the two adjacent contacting members.
Image recording apparatus
There is provided an image recording apparatus, including: a conveyance unit configured to convey the sheet in a sheet conveyance direction; a recording unit configured to record the image on the sheet conveyed by the conveyance unit; a support member having a first surface and a second surface which is opposite to the first surface, the first surface being configured to support the recording unit; a contact member including an engaging part configured to engage with the first surface and a contact part configured to make contact with the sheet on a downstream side of the engaging part in the sheet conveyance direction; and an biasing member configured to bias the contact member toward the second surface of the support member between the contact part and the engaging part in the sheet conveyance direction, and thereby making the contact member contact with the second surface.

RECORDING DEVICE
A recording device has: a recording head configured to perform recording on a medium; a medium storage below the recording head configured to store the medium to be recoded; a supply path comprising a first curved supply path curved so as to be convex upward and transporting the medium fed out of the medium storage in a reversed direction via the first curved supply path; and a reversing path comprising a second curved path curved so as to be convex downward and transporting the recorded medium into a direction including a vertically upward component via second curved path from a direction including a vertically downward component; wherein the supply path joins the reversing path, and the first curved path and the second curved path overlap when viewed horizontally.
MEDIUM SUPPORTING MECHANISM AND PRINTING APPARATUS
A medium supporting mechanism includes a medium supporting unit and a medium holding unit. The medium supporting unit includes a support face that supports a medium, a guide rail intersecting a transport direction in which the medium is transported, and an engaged portion positioned upstream of the first guide rail. The medium holding unit includes a holding portion that covers an edge of the medium in a width direction, an abutting portion movable between an abutting position and a separation position, a switching portion that switches a position of the abutting portion between the abutting position and the separation position, and an engaging portion engageable with the second guide rail. The medium holding unit includes a pressing portion downstream of the abutting portion in the transport direction. The pressing portion presses the support face to move a position of the holding portion in a direction away from the support face.
