MEDIUM TRANSPORTING APPARATUS AND POST-PROCESSING APPARATUS
A medium transporting apparatus includes a transport belt that has a loop shaped, a cling mechanism that causes the medium to cling to the transport belt, a rotation mechanism that transports the medium by rotating the transport belt, a plurality of detection units that detect an transport direction end of the medium, a controller that corrects a skew of the medium, and a stacker on which the medium transported by the transport belt is stacked, in which the plurality of detection units are arranged at positions that are on an upstream side of the transport belt in the first transport direction and that are different from each other in a width direction, and the controller corrects, according to a result of the detection by the detection units, the skew of the medium in a state of being cling to the transport belt.
Platform of cellular omni wheels for a registration system
A registration system for a printing device and a method for controlling the same are disclosed. For example, the registration system includes at least one sensor to detect a position of a print media, a platform comprising a plurality of cellular omni wheels, and a processor communicatively coupled to the at least one sensor and the plurality of cellular omni wheels, wherein the processor calculates a desired movement of each one of the plurality of cellular omni wheels based on the position of the print media.
RELAY TRANSPORT DEVICE, FEEDING SYSTEM, RECORDING SYSTEM, AND POSITION ADJUSTMENT METHOD
A relay transport device that is positioned between a recording device, which performs recording on a medium, and a feeding device, which is disposed outside the recording device and which feeds the medium to the recording device, and that relays and transports the medium fed from the feeding device to the recording device is a unit that forms a transport path for transporting the medium, and includes a relay unit, which has a medium discharge section for discharging the medium toward a receiving section of the recording device, and a coupling section, which couples together the relay unit and a support base that supports the relay unit.
Ink-jet recording apparatus
An ink-jet recording apparatus includes a recording head, an irregularity detecting unit, a recording medium conveyance unit, and a control unit. The irregularity detecting unit detects an irregularity with the recording medium conveyed toward the recording head. The recording medium conveyance unit has a recording medium diversion unit into which the recording medium with which an irregularity has been detected by the irregularity detecting unit is conveyed. The control unit can perform flushing operation and, when the irregularity detecting unit detects an irregularity with the recording medium, the control unit cancels the flushing operation set immediately before the recording medium with which the irregularity has been detected and conveys, by controlling the recording medium conveyance unit, the recording medium to the recording medium diversion unit.
CONVEYANCE DEVICE AND PRINTING APPARATUS
Provided is a technique that enables application of additional conveyance force to a print medium and conveyance of various sizes of print media without multi-feed. A conveyance device includes a feed unit, a first conveyance unit that conveys a print medium, and a second conveyance unit that conveys a print medium fed by the feed unit to the first conveyance unit, and is capable of correcting the skew of a print medium by causing the second conveyance unit to convey the print medium with its leading edge in abutment with the first conveyance unit. This conveyance device is configured to cause the feed unit to apply conveyance force to a print medium conveyed by the second conveyance unit, depending on the size of the print medium in the conveyance direction.
Inkjet printer
Inkjet printer (1) operable to print a print substrate made of textile, paper or plastic material, or the like, and provided with a sliding transfer surface (10) to feed the print substrate (2) in a feed direction (9); a printing device (17) arranged above the transfer surface (10) to define, on the transfer surface (10), a printing station (19); suction means (20) arranged below the transfer surface (10) to maintain the print substrate adhering to and stationary with respect to the transfer surface (10) during sliding; and an adjustment assembly to adjust planarity of the transfer surface (10).
Apparatus for and method of processing base material
A base material processing apparatus includes a transport mechanism, a force detection part, a meandering prediction part, a processing part, and a controller. The transport mechanism transports an elongated strip-shaped base material in a longitudinal direction thereof along a transport path aimed by a plurality of rollers of the transport mechanism. The force detection part detects a force applied to a sensing roller in an axial direction of a rotation shaft thereof, the sensing roller being at least one of the plurality of rollers. The controller predicts the meandering state of the base material to output meandering prediction information, based on the force applied to the sensing roller in the axial direction of the rotation shaft thereof. The meandering prediction part corrects the widthwise position of the base material relative to the processing part, based on the meandering prediction information. Thus, the base material processing apparatus is capable of sensing the meandering state of the base material through the use of the existing rollers of the transport mechanism in the processing part, and is capable of correcting the widthwise position of the base material relative to the processing part.
System and method for de-skewing substrates and laterally registering images on the substrates in a printer
A printer uses a mechanical device to correct skew in substrates and uses an electronic lateral registration system to shift ink images to be placed on the de-skewed substrates to remove the need for mechanical components that laterally register de-skewed substrates. The removal of the mechanical lateral registration components enable the substrates to be printed more quickly than printers that use mechanical devices to both de-skew substrates and laterally register de-skewed substrates in a print zone.
Image recording apparatus
An image recording apparatus for recording an image on a sheet includes a recording section which records the image on the sheet in a transport passage for transporting the sheet in a transport direction and multiple plates which are spaced apart from each other in a widthwise direction. These multiple plates include a first type of plate and a second type of plate. Plates of a first type of plate are configured to overlap a sheet when viewed in a direction perpendicular to the transport direction and the widthwise direction, while plates of the second type of plate do not.
Apparatue for controlling movement of a substrate
An apparatus can control the movement of a substrate through a manufacturing process. The apparatus can transport the substrate in the machine direction of the manufacturing process and can control the movement of the substrate in the cross-machine direction as well as the z-direction.
