RECORDING APPARATUS
A recording apparatus includes a medium container to store a medium, feeding rollers to be switched between a feeding state in which the feeding rollers are in contact with the medium and a separated state in which the feeding rollers are separated from the medium, a reversing path for reversing the medium that has been fed from the medium container, a recorder to perform recording on the medium that has been reversed by the reversing path, a back-feed path for introducing the medium that has been fed in the reverse direction from the recording region in which recording has been performed by the recorder toward the reversing path, and a nip roller configured to nip the medium within the back-feed path. At least a portion of the feeding rollers that are in the separated state overlaps the nip roller in the direction of the height of the recording apparatus.

A printer includes a print head; a platen roller; a frame, to which the print head or the platen roller is attached, that includes a frame body, a sidewall that is perpendicularly bent from the frame body with respect to a longitudinal direction of the platen roller, and a back surface member that is bent from the frame body in parallel to the longitudinal direction of the platen roller, the back surface member including an end portion and a support portion provided to support the sidewall from an inner side and an outer side of the sidewall, respectively, the sidewall being supported by the back surface member while being interposed between the end portion the support portion of the back surface member.

The platen roller includes multiple bearings provided one at each longitudinal end of the platen roller, a roller positioned between the bearings, and multiple flanges of which one is positioned between the roller and one of the bearings and the other is positioned between the roller and the other of the bearings in the longitudinal direction of the platen roller. The flanges have a diameter greater than the diameter of the bearings and the diameter of the roller.

Rotary printer for textiles
A printing machine for printing fabrics on a rotary drum, comprises one or more drums rotatable about a drum axis, that receive tubes of fabric thereon, and a print head placed in proximity to the drum, to print onto the fabric fitted onto the drum. The print head comprises multiple printing nozzles or linear arrays of printing nozzles which are aligned linearly along the axial direction of the drum, which are all at a predefined printing distance from the drum surface or the fabric surface. Also, a rotary drum for a textile printer comprises a groove extending along the length of the drum, and a catch mechanism built into the groove for catching on to a garment or backing for a garment as the drum rotates. The rotation of the drum pulls the caught edge and wraps the garment around the drum ready for rotary drum printing.
Inductive cover state sensors for media processing devices
A media processing device includes: a body defining a media supply chamber and carrying a print head; a cover carrying a platen roller, the cover having an open position enabling access to the chamber, and a closed position enclosing the chamber, and cooperating with the body to define a media path extending from the chamber, between the print head and the platen roller, to a media outlet; a target conductor affixed to one of the body and the cover; and an inductive proximity sensor affixed to the other of the body and the cover, disposed to detect the target conductor when the cover is closed.

A printer according to an embodiment includes: a printer body including a supplying part that rotatably holds a roll-shaped sheet member; an opening and closing cover configured to open and close with respect to the printer body; a thermal head disposed on the printer body, the thermal head configured to print on the sheet member; a platen roller disposed on the opening and closing cover, the platen roller positioned at a location opposite to the thermal head and feeding the sheet member in a closed configuration; and a platen roller holding mechanism configured to attachably and detachably secure the platen roller to the opening and closing cover. The platen roller holding mechanism includes a label roll supporter that rotatably guides the roll-shaped sheet member in the supplying part. The label roll supporter includes a cross-sectional arc-shaped surface.
