20190089854 · 2019-03-21 ·

A printing device (102) comprises a plurality of feeder print trays (104) to hold print media to be used for printing. The printing device (102) further comprises a plurality of user input sensors (106), such that a user input sensor (106) is provided in proximity to each of the plurality of feeder print trays (104) to sense at least one user input provided by a user on an outer surface of a casing of the corresponding feeder print tray (104). Further, an input tray control module (108) is communicatively coupled to the plurality of input sensors (106). The input tray control module (108) correlates the user input as selection of the corresponding feeder print tray (104) and subsequently determines selection attributes corresponding to the user input. The input tray control module (108) further determines a tray control action to be initiated for the selected feeder print tray (104) based on the user input data and the selection attribute.

A first feeder contacts a first surface of a first sheet held in a first tray and feeds the first sheet toward a recording unit. A second feeder contacts a first surface of a second sheet held in a second tray and feeds the second sheet toward the recording unit. An inner member is disposed above a standing plate. An outer member comprises an upstream portion opposing the standing plate, and a downstream portion opposing the inner member. The inner member guides the first surface of the first sheet and the first surface of the second sheet. The standing plate guides the first surface of the second sheet. The upstream portion of the outer member guides a second surface of the second sheet, and the downstream portion guides a second surface of the first sheet and the second surface of the second sheet. The standing plate moves relative to the outer member.

A display device includes a first substrate; a plurality of gate lines arranged in a row direction on the first substrate; a plurality of data lines arranged in a column direction intersecting the row direction; and a plurality of pixels formed in a plurality of pixel areas defined by the gate and data lines, the plurality of pixels comprising at least a first pixel and a second pixel repectively disposed in a first pixel area and a second pixel area that are immediately adjacent to each other. Each of the first and second pixels comprises a thin film transistor electrically connected to the gate and data lines, and a pixel electrode electrically connected to the thin film transistor. The data lines are disposed-apart by different distances from each other in the column direction. Each of the first and second pixel areas comprises a first edge portion adjacent to one of the gate lines and a second edge portion adjacent to another of the gate lines, a lengh of the first edge portion being greater than a lengh of the second edge portion. The thin film transistor is disposed at the first edge portion of the first and second pixel areas.

An image forming system has a transmission assembly, standard and auxiliary sheet feeders, standard and auxiliary trays, an image forming device and a controller. The transmission assembly is for switching transmission of a drive force of a motor selectively to the one of the standard and auxiliary sheet feeders. The controller determines whether sheet is absent in the standard tray. The controller, based on determining the sheet is absent in the standard tray and receipt of preceding data, control the transmission assembly to initiate to switch the transmission of the drive force to the auxiliary sheet feeder. Also the controller, based on receipt of control data received after preceding data, control the image forming device to form an image based on the control data.

Paper management system, paper management method, and print control apparatus

A paper management system setting a paper information piece of paper stored in a sheet feeding unit in an image forming apparatus from a list of paper information pieces registers the paper information pieces with a favorite group, displays a list of the paper information pieces for each favorite group, and enables the list of the paper information pieces to be associated with a paper feed unit through the screen displaying the list.

Recording apparatus

A recording apparatus includes a recording portion that records an image on a sheet, a first conveyance path in which a cut sheet serving as the sheet is conveyed toward the recording portion, a second conveyance path in which a continuous sheet serving as the sheet is conveyed toward the recording portion, a common conveyance path in which the sheet is conveyed in a conveying direction from a junction point at which the first conveyance path and the second conveyance path join together to the recording portion, and a control portion that controls the conveyance of the sheet. When the sheet is not detected in the second conveyance path after a sheet conveyance abnormality is detected, while the sheet is detected in the common conveyance path, the control portion performs a discharge operation of conveying the cut sheet from the first conveyance path toward the recording portion.

Printer with force transmitting path selecting mechanism

A printer has a carriage being movable between a first end and a second end of a reciprocating path; and a driving force transmitting path selecting mechanism provided at the second end of the reciprocating path. The selecting mechanism has: a common driving force outputting member; a plurality of force receiving members; a selecting member; and a position retainer for keeping the position of the selecting member. The selecting member connects the force outputting member to one of the plurality of force receiving members, and moves in association with the carriage when the carriage moves in a vicinity of the second end in a first direction extending from the first end to the second end. The position retainer keeps the position of the selecting member when the carriage moves in a second direction extending from the second end to the first end. The force receiving member connected to the force outputting member via the selecting member is selected in accordance with a movement of the carriage along the reciprocating path.

Image forming system and image forming device

An image forming device performs image formation on a medium selected by a computer. When a cutting device is unusable, a long sheet-type medium accommodated in a first medium container is unusable. However, a conveyance passage used for conveying a short sheet-type medium is usable in at least one of a first state where the cutting device is unusable or a second state where the sheet-type medium is unable to pass through the cutting device. A necessary condition to make both the long sheet-type medium and the short sheet-type medium selectable includes the detector detecting neither the first status nor the second status. A necessary condition to make the long sheet-type medium unselectable and make the short sheet-type medium selectable includes the detector detecting one of the first status and the second status.
