The coded information is for reading by a scanner at a finishing device. A press calibration nonproduction (“PCN”) frame that includes a printer calibration diagnostic is printed. A scanner at the printer is caused to capture the printer calibration diagnostic. A calibration operation is performed at the printer utilizing data or attributes captured from the printer calibration diagnostic.

Processing circuitry is adapted to execute a code for analyzing an audio signal captured by the audio sensor to detect a voice command; in response to the detection of the voice command, analyzing readings of at least one non-audio sensor to identify a triggering event; in response to the detection of the triggering event, instructing the actuating mechanism such that the housing moves along a printing pattern associated with the triggering event, and instructing the printing head to print media extracted from the readings, selected according to an analysis of the readings.

A method of cutting or scoring a substrate comprises: providing a substrate which has a maximum of radiation absorption at a first wavelength band; depositing on the substrate, in a predetermined pattern, a heating fluid which has a maximum of radiation absorption at a second wavelength band; and exposing a surface region of the substrate to electromagnetic radiation at the second wavelength band, the surface region including the predetermined pattern, to cut or mark the substrate along the predetermined pattern. The first wavelength band differs from the second wavelength band.
