A cutter device, comprising: a first blade including a first cutting edge extending in a first direction; a second blade including a second cutting edge extending in a second direction; and a guide portion provided at a position anterior to the second blade in the second direction, wherein the second blade moves in the second direction to cut a recording medium while leaving a part thereof uncut, and when the second blade is located posterior, in the second direction, to a position where the second blade cuts the recording medium, at least a part of the guide portion is located to protrude farther in the first direction than the first cutting edge, or located at a same position as the first cutting edge.

Print apparatus is controlled to execute a print operation comprising a plurality of print sweeps onto a print zone of a print substrate and a corresponding plurality of print advances of the print substrate between successive print sweeps. Print apparatus is controlled to execute an intermediate cutting operation between a pre-cut print sweep and a successive post-cut print sweep of the plurality of print sweeps.
CUTTER APPARATUS AND PRINTING APPARATUS
A cutter apparatus is provided that includes a fixed blade and a movable blade positioned facing the fixed blade, and that is configured to cut a medium transported between the fixed blade and the movable blade. The movable blade includes: a guide portion that is driven to reciprocate between a standby position at a distance from the medium and a cutting position, where the movable blade intermeshes with the fixed blade, protrudes further toward the movable blade than a cutting edge of the fixed blade when the movable blade is in the standby position, and is pressed by the movable blade to move in a state of being contact with the fixed blade when the movable blade is in the cutting position; and a biasing member configured to bias the guide portion toward the fixed blade.
Cutting device for continuous labels
A printer for printing on a print medium includes: a receptacle for taking up the print medium into a roll; a print head for printing onto the print medium during a printing process; a print roller for directing the print medium past the print head during the printing process; and a cutting device for separating a printed portion of the print medium. The cutting device includes a stationary blade, a blade that is movable against the stationary blade, and a drive motor for moving the movable blade from a rest position, into a cutting position, and back. The drive motor includes a transmission and at least one drive pin. A rotational movement of the drive motor with the transmission and the at least one drive pin is converted into a linear movement of the moving blade. A movement path of the at least one drive pin is circular or elliptical.
Printer
A printer includes: a conveyor; a printing device; a roller; a moving mechanism configured to move a moving member; and a cutter that performs a cutting operation. A controller executes: a printing processing for performing a printing operation while conveying the printing medium with the moving member being located at a second position; a cutting processing for performing the cutting operation after the printing operation is stopped; a moving processing for controlling the moving mechanism such that movement of the moving member to a first position is completed before the cutting operation; and a roller driving processing for, after the movement of the moving member to the first position is completed and before the cutting operation, rotating the roller in a direction for conveying the printing medium downstream in a conveying direction and stops the roller from rotating.
Tape, printer and printer system
A tape has one or more first areas and one or more second areas. One of the second areas is connected to each of the first areas, and is shorter than the first areas in a direction. A control unit controls to print on a first area of the tape and to cut a second area. In some examples, the tape is divided into two portions by pre-cut contours. A control unit controls to divide one of the portions into two parts and to print on at least one of the parts. Additionally or alternatively, a tape may include a first sheet and a second sheet. The second sheet pasted on the first sheet, is divided into a first area and a second area by a slit, and has a perforation line. A control unit controls to print on the second sheet, and to cut partially through the tape.
Printing apparatus
A printing apparatus, including an attachment room with a passage area, a conveyer to convey a printing medium in a conveyer path, a print head, a full-cutting assembly, and a partial-cutting assembly, is provided. The passage area forms a part of the attachment room on a first side of the conveyer path in a predetermined direction. The full-cutting assembly includes a stationary piece and a full-cutting piece with a first edge movable from a position on the first side of the conveyer path toward the stationary piece on a second side of the conveyer path. The partial-cutting assembly includes a placement base and a partial cutting piece located on the second side of the conveyer path. The partial-cutting piece includes a second edge arranged to face the placement base along a movable direction of the partial-cutting piece.
CUTTING PRINT SUBSTRATES
Print apparatus is controlled to execute a print operation comprising a plurality of print sweeps onto a print zone of a print substrate and a corresponding plurality of print advances of the print substrate between successive print sweeps. Print apparatus is controlled to execute an intermediate cutting operation between a pre-cut print sweep and a successive post-cut print sweep of the plurality of print sweeps.
Printing apparatus
A printing apparatus includes: a conveyor which conveys a print medium along a conveyance path; a print head which execute printing at a first position on the conveyance path; a cutter which cuts the print medium at least partially at a second position on the downstream side from the first position in the conveyance path; and a processor. The processor acquires a specified length along the conveyance path, acquires a first margin length along a conveyance direction in a first margin part, acquires a separation distance along the conveyance path between the first position and a third position which includes the second position and which is located on the conveyance path and between the first position to the second position, and determines whether the separation distance is equal to or longer than a first total length which is the total of the specified length and the first margin length.
