A thermal printer includes: a roll sheet receiving portion; and a delivery slot through which a portion of the recording sheet drawn from the roll sheet is delivered to an outside of the thermal printer; a printing unit including: a thermal head; and a platen roller configured to convey the recording sheet toward the delivery slot while sandwiching the recording sheet between the thermal head and the platen roller; a flap provided on a portion of the casing between the printing unit and the roll sheet receiving portion so as to be pivotable about a first axis, and configured to press the roll sheet in a direction of separating away from the delivery slot through abutment against an outer peripheral surface of the roll sheet; and an urging member configured to urge the flap about the first axis in the direction of separating away from the delivery slot.

IMAGE RECORDING APPARATUS DOWNSIZED IN VERTICAL DIRECTION
An image recording apparatus includes a housing, an operation panel, a sheet conveyor, a recording device, and a cutting device. The operation panel is disposed at a first-side face of the housing in a first direction. The first direction is orthogonal to a vertical direction and extends from a first side to a second side of the image recording apparatus. In the first direction, the cutting device is closer to the first side of the image recording apparatus than the recording device is and closer to the second side of the image recording apparatus than the operation panel is. The cutting device includes a cutter, and a cutter carriage to move with the cutter mounted thereon along a second direction orthogonal to the first direction and the vertical direction. The operation panel overlaps a movable area of the cutter carriage when viewed in the first direction.
IMAGE RECORDING APPARATUS DOWNSIZED IN VERTICAL DIRECTION
An image recording apparatus includes a housing, an operation panel, a sheet conveyor, a recording device, and a cutting device. The operation panel is disposed at a first-side face of the housing in a first direction. The first direction is orthogonal to a vertical direction and extends from a first side to a second side of the image recording apparatus. In the first direction, the cutting device is closer to the first side of the image recording apparatus than the recording device is and closer to the second side of the image recording apparatus than the operation panel is. The cutting device includes a cutter, and a cutter carriage to move with the cutter mounted thereon along a second direction orthogonal to the first direction and the vertical direction. The operation panel overlaps a movable area of the cutter carriage when viewed in the first direction.
PRINTING APPARATUS
A printing apparatus, having a container to store a printing medium therein, an acquisition device to acquire image data, a printing device to print an image on the printing medium, a cutter assembly to cut the printing medium, and a controller, is provided. In a case where a size of the image contained in the image data acquired by the acquisition device is smaller than a size of the printing medium stored in the container, the controller generates rotated image data containing a rotated image, which is an image rotated from an original posture of the image in the image data acquired by the acquisition device, controls the printing device based on the generated rotated image data to print the rotated image on the printing medium, and controls the cutter assembly to cut the printing medium having the rotated image printed by the printing device thereon.
PRINTING APPARATUS
A printing apparatus includes a case configured to receive roll paper of a rolled recording medium, a cover rotatably attached to the case to be used to open or close the case, a transport section including a transport motor provided to the case and a transport roller provided to the cover, the transport section being configured to pull the recording medium from the roll paper and transport the recording medium along a recording medium path, and a cut section including a first blade and a first blade motor configured to move the first blade provided to the cover and a second blade provided to the case, the cut section being configured to cut the recording medium. The first blade motor includes a first blade motor shaft, and the first blade motor is provided to the cover such that a first extension line extending from the first blade motor shaft and a second extension line extending from at least part of the recording medium path in a width direction of the recording medium intersect each other when the cover is closed.
PRINTING APPARATUS
A printing apparatus includes a case configured to receive roll paper of a rolled recording medium, a cover rotatably attached to the case to be used to open or close the case, a transport section including a transport motor provided to the case and a transport roller provided to the cover, the transport section being configured to pull the recording medium from the roll paper and transport the recording medium along a recording medium path, and a cut section including a first blade and a first blade motor configured to move the first blade provided to the cover and a second blade provided to the case, the cut section being configured to cut the recording medium. The first blade motor includes a first blade motor shaft, and the first blade motor is provided to the cover such that a first extension line extending from the first blade motor shaft and a second extension line extending from at least part of the recording medium path in a width direction of the recording medium intersect each other when the cover is closed.
PRINTING DEVICE AND PRINTING METHOD
A printing device includes a printer including a printing head to print a printing subject on a printing medium; a transporter including a roller to, while pressing the printing medium against the printing head, transport the printing medium in a feeding direction and a retracting direction; and a presser to, when the printing medium is transported in a feeding direction, cause the roller to press the printing medium against the printing head with first pressure and, when the printing medium is transported in a retracting direction, cause the roller to press the printing medium against the printing head with second pressure different from the first pressure.
PRINTING DEVICE AND PRINTING METHOD
A printing device includes a printer including a printing head to print a printing subject on a printing medium; a transporter including a roller to, while pressing the printing medium against the printing head, transport the printing medium in a feeding direction and a retracting direction; and a presser to, when the printing medium is transported in a feeding direction, cause the roller to press the printing medium against the printing head with first pressure and, when the printing medium is transported in a retracting direction, cause the roller to press the printing medium against the printing head with second pressure different from the first pressure.
