Image Recording Apparatus

An image recording apparatus is configured to perform a conveying process of a recording medium using a conveying roller and a discharging roller, a recoding process of recording an image on the printing sheet when the conveying process is not performed, and an adjusting process. In the adjusting process, among a plurality of conveying processes performed within a period from the start of the conveying process for an n-th printing sheet until the timing which is after the start of the conveying process for an (n+1)-th printing sheet, the conveying amount of the printing sheet subject to at least one conveying process is adjusted such that a timing when the trailing end of the n-th printing sheet passes through the discharging roller is within one of the acceleration period and the deceleration period of the conveying process for the printing sheet.

Sheet feeding apparatus

A sheet feeding apparatus includes a casing that comprises a sheet feeding port, a first sheet feed tray in which a first medium is loaded and that is arranged along a sheet feeding port, and a cover that rotates from a position opposite the first sheet feed tray of the casing to a first sheet feed tray side and covers the sheet feeding port. The cover includes a second sheet feed tray that causes a second medium differing in size from the first medium to be capable of being loaded in the sheet feeding port when the cover covers the sheet feeding port.

Printing apparatus

A printing apparatus includes a printing unit that performs printing on a medium, an apparatus main body that houses the printing unit therein and that has outer surfaces including an upper surface and a front surface that adjoiningly intersects the upper surface, a paper feed port that is provided on the upper surface of the apparatus main body and that enables the medium to be fed into the apparatus main body, a feed path that is guiding the medium fed from the paper feed port toward the printing unit and that has a curved portion for inverting the medium during the guiding, a pair of rollers that are provided at the upstream of the curved portion and that feed the medium toward the printing unit via the feed path by rotating while nipping the medium fed from the paper feed port from both front and rear sides.

A printing apparatus includes: a printer; a sheet feeder including sheet feed trays; a sheet discharger to discharge and hold sheets printed by the printer; and a controller. Upon unloading of the sheets from the sheet discharger, the controller: determines whether to perform switching of a sheet feed source from a first sheet feed tray which is a latest sheet feed source of the sheet feed trays to a second sheet feed tray which is a sheet feed tray other than the first sheet feed tray of the sheet feed trays, based on a first sheet remaining amount in the first sheet feed tray and a second sheet remaining amount in the second sheet feed tray; and, upon determining to perform the switching, controls the sheet feeder to switch the sheet feed source from the first sheet feed tray to the second sheet feed tray.

Media alignment calibration

A media alignment calibration system determines a slope relating a trailing edge skew value to its paired leading edge skew value and an intercept representing native skew based on a linear regression of a predetermined number of a set of paired leading and trailing edge skew values for a media type stored in a buffer. Based on the slope and intercept, a media model for the media type is updated based on the linear regression to adjust a differential velocity of a pair of aligned media feed rollers in a media feed mechanism to correct both a future native skew and future paired leading and trailing edge skew values in the buffer to within a desired operational window.

It is possible to more securely reduce the printing time of printing processing to perform printing while conveying printing sheets in an overlapping manner. An image forming apparatus including: a determination unit configured to analyze print data for printing an image on one printing sheet and to determine, based on the analysis results, an overlap amount of the one printing sheet and another printing sheet conveyed in a state of overlapping part of the one printing sheet; and a conveyance unit configured to convey the one printing sheet and the other printing sheet in an overlapping manner in accordance with an overlap amount determined by the determination unit, and a target image range of the analysis of the print data is determined in accordance with a predetermined overlap amount determined in advance, which a printing unit can permit.

Provided is a printer that continues printing using an alternate paper feed port when the paper stocked in the paper feed port being used for printing becomes exhausted while printing, providing excellent usability and preventing using inappropriate paper. A printing device capable of alternate printing using a second paper set in a different paper feed port when first paper set in a first paper feed port and used for printing is depleted, includes: a print job receiver that receives print jobs including printing conditions; a paper information acquisition unit that acquires paper information about paper set in the paper feed ports; a no-paper detector; a paper feed port selector that selects a paper feed port based on the printing conditions and paper information. The paper feed port selector, when the no-paper detector detects there is no first paper, the paper size of the first paper and the second paper is the same, and the paper type of the first paper and the second paper are included in the same group of type groups, selects the paper feed port in which the second paper is set as the paper feed port for alternate printing.

A printing apparatus includes a feeding unit, a pair of rollers, a printing unit, and a control unit. The control unit can execute skew correction. The control unit can execute control to convey a preceding printing medium and a succeeding printing medium by the pair of rollers in a state in which a trailing edge portion of the preceding printing medium and a leading edge portion of the succeeding printing medium overlap. The control unit sets an execution timing of the skew correction for the succeeding printing medium based on positions of the preceding printing medium and the succeeding printing medium if a predetermined condition is met. The predetermined condition is that the preceding printing medium reaches a position at which a remaining print range for the preceding printing medium equals a predetermined print range.

LIQUID DISCHARGE DEVICE AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING LIQUID DISCHARGE DEVICE

A liquid discharge device includes a discharge head configured to discharge a liquid on a medium conveyed, a carriage on which the liquid discharge head and a liquid cartridge are mounted configured to move in an X-axis direction, a cap disposed outside a conveying area in the X-axis direction, and configured to have contact with a nozzle surface of the discharge head on which a nozzle opens, and a control section configured to control moving of the carriage. When one of the replacement of the liquid cartridge and refill of the liquid container is performed, the control section locates the carriage at the first position where the nozzle surface is opposed to the area between the conveying area and the cap in the X-axis direction.

PRINTING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

A printing apparatus comprises a conveyance control unit which controls conveyance of printing sheets so that a trailing edge of a preceding sheet as a printing sheet precedingly fed from the stacking unit and a leading edge of a succeeding sheet as a printing sheet succeedingly fed from the stacking unit overlap each other; and a skew correction unit which performs skew correction of the succeeding sheet while the succeeding sheet overlaps the preceding sheet by the conveyance control unit. The skew correction unit makes the leading edge of the succeeding sheet abut against the conveyance roller during a time from an end of a last line feed operation by the conveyance roller for printing on the preceding sheet by the printing unit to start of a next conveyance operation.
