A printing apparatus comprises a feeding unit which feeds a printing sheet stacked on a stacking unit, a conveyance unit which conveys the fed printing sheet, a printing unit which prints the conveyed printing sheet, and a control unit which controls conveyance of printing sheets so that a trailing edge of a preceding sheet and a leading edge of a succeeding sheet overlap each other, wherein based on an ink amount to be applied to an area of a predetermined range from at least one of the leading edge of the succeeding sheet and the trailing edge of the preceding sheet, the control unit decides an overlapping amount of an area where the trailing edge of the preceding sheet and the leading edge of the succeeding sheet overlap each other.

An upper supply tray is mounted at an upper mount position in a housing. A lower supply tray is mounted at a lower mount position lower than the upper mount position in the housing. A first print engine records an image on a sheet conveyed from the upper supply tray. A second print engine records an image on a sheet conveyed from the lower supply tray. A lower discharge tray supports the sheet on which the image is recorded by the first print engine. An upper discharge tray supports the sheet on which the image is recorded by the second print engine. The upper discharge tray is located at a higher position than the lower discharge tray. A first display displays at least: a first correspondence between the lower discharge tray and the upper supply tray; or a second correspondence between the upper discharge tray and the lower supply tray.

A printing apparatus includes a feeding unit, a pair of rollers, a printing unit, and a control unit. The control unit can execute skew correction. The control unit can execute control to convey a preceding printing medium and a succeeding printing medium by the pair of rollers in a state in which a trailing edge portion of the preceding printing medium and a leading edge portion of the succeeding printing medium overlap. The control unit sets an execution timing of the skew correction for the succeeding printing medium based on positions of the preceding printing medium and the succeeding printing medium if a predetermined condition is met. The predetermined condition is that the preceding printing medium reaches a position at which a remaining print range for the preceding printing medium equals a predetermined print range.

A control apparatus comprises: a grouping unit that divides a plurality of sheets each associated with image data included in a processing target job into groups each having a predetermined size; and a control unit that controls feeding of a sheet from a feeding unit onto a conveyance path and refeeding of a sheet which has been conveyed on the conveyance path onto the conveyance path, wherein the predetermined size is not less than a maximum sheet size used in the processing target job, a plurality of groups can be conveyed on the conveyance path, and the control unit controls feeding and refeeding for each group grouped in the grouping unit.

PRINTING APPARATUS

A printing apparatus includes a print section configured to perform printing on a first side of a medium and then perform printing on a second side that is a back side of the first side, a supply path configured to supply the medium toward the print section, a feeding roller configured to feed the medium along the supply path from an upstream side to a downstream side in a transport direction, a toothed roller provided on the downstream side of the feeding rollers in the transport direction, a drive source configured to rotate the feeding roller and the toothed roller, and a controller configured to control driving of the drive source. The controller performs rotation control for rotating the feed rollers prior to the rotation of the toothed roller with which the medium has collided.

There is provided a printing device which can reduce the frequency at which a consecutive overlap-feeding operation is performed in a state where an overlap error in which a preceding medium and a following medium are overlapped in reverse order is not corrected.

INKJET PRINTER, AND METHOD AND COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM THEREFOR

An inkjet printer includes a controller configured to perform an intermittent conveyance process including controlling a conveyor to intermittently convey a preceding sheet, an image recording process including controlling a recording head to perform image recording for each single pass on the preceding sheet while controlling a carriage moving mechanism to move a carriage with the recording head mounted thereon over each single pass in a direction along a scanning direction, a remaining-pass calculating process including calculating a count of remaining passes to be recorded on the preceding sheet, and a feeding process including, in response to the calculated count of the remaining passes being a particular number, controlling a feeder to start feeding a subsequent sheet at a point of time when a first particular period of time elapses from a next timing to start conveyance of the preceding sheet in the intermittent conveyance process.

A printing device includes a printing unit, a pair of transporting rollers (a pair of rollers) that is disposed right before the printing unit and that transport a medium to the printing unit, and a transportation direction changing mechanism that is disposed on an upstream side of the pair of transporting rollers and that changes a transportation direction of the medium before the medium is nipped by the pair of transporting rollers. The transportation direction changing mechanism changes a transportation direction of a following medium such that a leading end portion of the following medium overlaps a preceding medium when the printing unit performs printing in a state where the preceding medium is nipped by the pair of transporting rollers.

Printing device performance management

In some examples, printing device performance management may include determining a physical media feed motor speed of operation for a physical media feed motor for a printing device including the physical media feed motor for transferring a physical medium within a print zone of the printing device, and a further motor for transferring the physical medium towards the print zone. For each physical medium that is to be transferred towards the print zone, the further motor may be actuated to transfer the physical medium at a further motor speed that is greater than the physical media feed motor speed to reduce a further motor duty cycle.
