11407603 · 2022-08-09 · ·

A printing apparatus includes a feeding roller, a conveyance roller, a first driving unit configured to drive the conveyance roller, a second driving unit configured to drive the feeding roller, a control unit configured to control the first and second driving units, a detection unit configured to detect an error related to the second driving unit, and a determination unit configured to determine, when the detection unit has detected the error related to the second driving unit, whether to continue the conveyance of a first print medium based on a leading edge position of a second print medium. In a case in which an error is detected by the detection unit, the control unit controls the conveyance of the first print medium by the conveyance roller based on a determination result of the determination unit.

Printing apparatus and control method

In a printing apparatus, a control unit stops paper feeding driven by a driving unit for driving a paper feeding roller in response to a timing at which a printing medium reaches a conveying roller, if the printing medium has a first size, and stops paper feeding driven by the driving unit before a detection unit located upstream of the conveying roller detects the printing medium if the printing medium has a second size smaller than the first size.

Image recording apparatus

An upper supply tray is mounted at an upper mount position in a housing. A lower supply tray is mounted at a lower mount position lower than the upper mount position in the housing. A first print engine records an image on a sheet conveyed from the upper supply tray. A second print engine records an image on a sheet conveyed from the lower supply tray. A lower discharge tray supports the sheet on which the image is recorded by the first print engine. An upper discharge tray supports the sheet on which the image is recorded by the second print engine. The upper discharge tray is located at a higher position than the lower discharge tray. A first display displays at least: a first correspondence between the lower discharge tray and the upper supply tray; or a second correspondence between the upper discharge tray and the lower supply tray.

CARRIAGE ACTIVATED PRINTING DEVICES

In one example, a printing device may include a first motor to transition a carriage between a first position and a second position, the carriage to exert a force on a gate shifter as the carriage transitions between the first position and the second position, the gate shifter to transition between an open position and a closed position in response to the exerted force of the carriage, and a feed swingarm to transition between a first side and a second side of the gate shifter when the gate shifter is in the open position.

Recording apparatus

A recording apparatus includes a feed portion that feeds a medium, a transport portion that transports the fed medium in a transport direction, a recording portion that performs recording on the medium transported by the transport portion, a support member that includes a support surface that supports the medium on which the recording portion performs recording. The recording apparatus includes a pressing member that presses the medium towards the support member, at a position upstream of the recording position of the recording portion in the transport direction. The pressing member is provided so as to be movable in a direction intersecting the support surface.

ADJUSTING GAP BETWEEN PRINT MEDIA

The present subject matter relates to examples of adjusting the gaps between a first print medium and a second print medium. In one example, the first print medium may be picked by a pick-up roller from an input tray and may be conveyed to towards a transfer roller along a travel path. Further, according to the example, a homing position of the first print medium along the travel path may be determined. Once the homing position is determined, a second print medium may be picked by the pick-up roller. Further, a gap between a leading edge of the second print medium and a trailing edge of the first medium may be adjusted by regulating a rotational speed of the pick-up roller based on a rotational speed of the transfer roller.

Printer

A printer includes: a conveyor that conveys a printing medium; a printing device that prints an image; a roller provided downstream of the printing device in a conveying direction; an opposed member opposed to the roller; a motor; a coupling mechanism that power-transmittably couples the motor and the roller to each other and rotates the roller in a first direction during driving of the motor, the first direction being a rotational direction for conveying the printing medium downstream in the conveying direction; and a moving mechanism that moves the roller between (i) a first position at which the roller is power-transmittably coupled to the motor by the coupling mechanism, and the printing medium is nipped by the roller and the opposed member and (ii) a second position at which the roller is power-transmittably coupled to the motor by the coupling mechanism and separated from the printing medium.

Suction device, conveyor, printer, and suction region changing device

A sheet suction device includes a bearing member configured to bear a sheet on a circumferential surface of the bearing member and rotate, a plurality of suction holes in a bearing region in the circumferential surface of the bearing member, a suction device connected to the plurality of suction holes, the suction device configured to suck the sheet through the plurality of suction holes, and a rotary valve between the bearing member and the suction device. The rotary valve includes: a first member communicating with the suction device, and a second member contacting the first member, the second member communicating with the plurality of suction holes. The first member includes a first groove on a side surface in a circumferential direction of the first member, the first groove communicating with the suction device.

Leading edge detection in pos printers

A method and a printer for aligning leading edge of a printable receipt to print position of a printer is described. The printer includes a sensor placed proximal to a cutter position. The sensor generates a first signal in response to a printable receipt blocking the sensor. Upon detection of first signal from the sensor, a backward feed signal is provided to a first motor until the first signal is stopped to roll the printable receipt into a print receipt roller. Further, a forward feed signal is provided to the first motor to unroll printable receipt from the print receipt roller until a second signal is received from the sensor on blocking by the printable receipt. Upon detection of the second signal, an automatic fixed backward feed signal is provided to the first motor to align the leading edge of the printable receipt in the print position thereby avoiding wastage of printable receipt.

PRINTING APPARATUS

A printing apparatus includes a plurality of set units to set rolled print media, a conveyance unit to convey the print media, a printing unit, a detection unit, and display units. The printing unit prints an image on the print media conveyed by the conveyance unit. The detection unit detects whether any one of the print media is fed to a predetermined printable position at which printing is performable by the printing unit. Each display unit is provided on a different one of the plurality of set units and configured to indicate whether a print medium set in a corresponding set unit is being fed. When the printing unit performs printing on the print medium, each display unit indicates whether the print medium set in the corresponding set unit is being fed in accordance with a result of detection performed by the detection unit.
