PRINTING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD
A printing apparatus has a conveyance roller and a driven roller disposed upstream of a print head in the first direction, a platen facing the print head and supporting the print medium, a producing unit producing a holding force for holding the print medium at the platen. A conveyance operation includes a first conveyance operation in which the print medium is conveyed without any release from between the conveyance roller and the driven roller and a second conveyance operation in which the print medium is released from between the conveyance roller and the driven roller. A rotation amount of the conveyance roller during the second conveyance operation is increased than that during the first conveyance operation.
Apparatuses and methods for printed security features
A visual security feature is provided that is disposed on a target. The visual security feature includes two substantially transparent layers. At least one of the two substantially transparent layers is present in an image-wise pattern.
PRINTING APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING OVERLAP OF A PRECEDING SHEET AND A SUCCEEDING SHEET, AND A RELATED CONTROL METHOD
A printing apparatus includes a feeding roller configured to feed sheets, including at least a preceding sheet and a succeeding sheet, a conveyance roller configured to convey the sheets fed by the feeding roller, and a printing unit configured to print on at least one sheet, of the sheets conveyed by the conveyance roller. A conveyance control unit controls the conveying of the sheets by the conveyance roller to form an overlap state, in which a leading edge of the succeeding sheet overlaps with the preceding sheet. In a case in which the conveyance roller conveys the succeeding sheet to a printing start position at which a printing operation is started by the printing unit, and the conveyance control unit forms the overlap state, the printing unit is configured to print on an overlapping area in which the preceding sheet and the succeeding sheet overlap.
Printer and Recording Medium
The disclosure discloses a printer including a feeder configured to feed one print-receiving medium that comprises a plurality of print-receiving parts. A printing head is configured to form a plurality of print parts by sequentially forming desired prints on the plurality of print-receiving parts. A CPU executes a determination process and a printing control process. In the determination process, a type of the one print-receiving medium is determined on the basis of a comparison between the parameters of the one print-receiving medium detected by a sensor and the parameters of each of the plural types of print-receiving medium stored in a memory. In the printing control process, controlling a print formation operation of the printing head is controlled on the basis of a determination result in the determination process.
DUAL EDGE REGISTERED SHEETS TO MITIGATE PRINT HEAD JET DRY OUT ON SHORT SHEETS WITHIN INKJET CUT SHEET PRINTING
Systems, methods, and devices for mitigating print head dry out. In an example embodiment, a system can be implemented, which includes an arrangement of cross rollers and a registration transport for transporting one or more sheets for printing, and a steering mechanism that drives the sheet(s) into the opposing registration print edges of print heads on the registration transportation, wherein the cross rollers only engage when the sheet is being registered to the appropriate edge of the print heads, thereby allowing the print heads to be exercised prior to drying out. When one or more of the sheets are out of the nip, the nip disengages, thereby allowing the next sheet to be stirred on the opposing edge of the registration print heads. The opposing registration print heads comprise an inboard registration edge and an outboard registration edge.
Inkjet nozzles cleaning in a digital printing system
A system (10) having a printing position and a non-printing position, the system (10) includes an image forming station (60) and a wiping assembly (200, 400). The image forming station (60) including at least a nozzle plate (61) having one or more nozzles (166, 166a, 166b, 166c), which are configured to apply droplets of a printing fluid onto a surface of one or more substrates (44) for producing one or more images thereon. The wiping assembly (200, 400) is at least partially positioned in a gap (141) between the nozzle plate (61) and the one or more substrates (44), and is configured, while the system (10) is in the printing position, to (i) make physical contact with the nozzle plate (61) and (ii) remove residues of the printing fluid from at least one of the nozzles (166, 166a, 166b, 166c).
Transport device and printing apparatus
A transport device provided in a printing apparatus includes a transport mechanism as an example of a first transport unit and a winding unit that is disposed on a downstream side of the transport mechanism in a transport direction. The transport device includes a tensile force applying unit that has a tension bar as an example of a tensile force applying member that is biased toward a medium between the transport mechanism and the winding unit and applies tensile force to the medium. Furthermore, the transport device includes a control unit that independently and intermittently drives the transport mechanism and the winding unit. The control unit controls transport start timing of the winding unit to take place later than transport start timing of the transport mechanism and causes the transport mechanism and the winding unit to transport the medium in parallel.
Medium transport device and recording apparatus
A recording apparatus which suppresses banding which occurs on a recording surface of a medium.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, CONTROL APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD IN IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
It is possible to more securely reduce the printing time of printing processing to perform printing while conveying printing sheets in an overlapping manner. An image forming apparatus including: a determination unit configured to analyze print data for printing an image on one printing sheet and to determine, based on the analysis results, an overlap amount of the one printing sheet and another printing sheet conveyed in a state of overlapping part of the one printing sheet; and a conveyance unit configured to convey the one printing sheet and the other printing sheet in an overlapping manner in accordance with an overlap amount determined by the determination unit, and a target image range of the analysis of the print data is determined in accordance with a predetermined overlap amount determined in advance, which a printing unit can permit.
Image forming apparatus and method for controlling the image forming apparatus
In an image forming apparatus, a first motor causes a first rotor to rotate. The first motor rotates based on a first drive signal. A second motor causes a second rotor to rotate. The second motor rotates based on a second drive signal. A reading unit is provided between the first rotor and the second rotor. Based on a read signal, the reading unit reads a paper sheet being conveyed line by line. In a first period, a read signal generation unit generates the read signal in accordance with a frequency of the first drive signal. In a second period, the read signal generation unit generates, as the read signal, a signal for reading the paper sheet being conveyed at a reference speed.
