PRINTING SYSTEM, PRINTING CONTROL APPARATUS, AND PRINTING CONTROL METHOD
A printing system includes a printing apparatus and a printing control apparatus for creating image data to be printed. The printing apparatus has a print head having an array of printing elements, a conveying unit for conveying a print medium in a direction intersecting with the array direction, and a control unit for setting the conveying speed. The printing control apparatus has an acquisition unit for acquiring a maximum concurrent drive number in the printing elements based on image data, an adjustment value for adjusting an inclination of a print position of the print head with respect to the conveying direction, and a maximum value and minimum value of an adjustment value for adjusting a print position of the print head in the array direction. The control unit sets the conveying speed based on the acquired maximum concurrent drive number.
DENSITY MODULATED AUTO-DUPLEXING
A method for fluid-density modulated auto-duplexing is disclosed. This method determines when a final swath of a printing operation on a surface of a media occurs within a predefined distal end portion of the media. An estimated media dry time after the final swath in the predefined distal end portion is determined to be greater than a predetermined time. The estimated dry time is capped to a predetermined minimum media dry time and a course of action for a feed mechanism is selected to reduce curling and cockling of the media. Furthermore, a non-transitory computer readable medium and a printer having fluid-density modulated auto-duplexing are also disclosed.
Computer-Readable Storage Medium, Information Processing Apparatus, and Method for Image Processing
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing computer readable instructions that are executable by a computer is provided. The computer readable instructions, when executed by the computer running the image processing program, cause the computer to generate an image to be printed on a particular type of printing medium in a printing apparatus, control a display to display the generated image, set a printing mode to one of a regular printing mode and a trial printing mode, in the regular printing mode, generate print-image information to be used in the printing apparatus to print the image on the particular type of printing medium, and in the trial printing mode, generate print-image information to be used in the printing apparatus to print the image on another type of printing medium different from the particular type, and transmit the generated print-image information to the printing program.
Printer, and printer control method
A printing device interrupts printing a label and cutting the label of which printing was interrupted when the image printed on the label may be corrupted. The printer controller drives a printhead and conveyance unit to print labels. When the trailing end of the label paper is detected, whether or not a target label in the group of labels being printed can be conveyed so that the trailing end of said target label goes downstream from the printing position before the conveyance amount of the conveyance unit reaches a specific amount. If said conveyance is not possible, printing the target label by the printhead is interrupted, the conveyance unit is controlled to set the target label being printed to the cutting position, and the cutter mechanism is then controlled to cut the target label.
INK-JET RECORDING APPARATUS
An ink-jet recording apparatus configured to record an image based on image data on a sheet, the ink-jet recording apparatus includes a first roller pair, a second roller pair, a carriage, a recording head, and a controller configured to: control the first roller pair and the second roller pair to perform intermittent conveyance of the sheet; control the carriage and the recording head to record a one-pass image on the sheet; and calculate an overlap amount, in the conveyance direction, of a one-pass image to be recorded on the sheet in a predefined one pass and a one-pass image to be recorded on the sheet in a next one pass after the predefined one pass.
Roller feed mechanism for printer having multiple printheads
A printer includes: a first fixed printhead; a second fixed printhead positioned downstream of the first printhead relative to a media feed direction; a fixed platen for supporting print media; an input roller assembly positioned upstream of the first printhead, the input roller assembly comprising a pair of input rollers having a first nip force N.sub.1; an output roller assembly positioned downstream of the second printhead, the output roller assembly comprising a pair of output rollers having a second nip force N.sub.2; and an intermediary roller assembly positioned between the first and second printheads, the intermediary roller assembly comprising a pair of intermediary rollers having a third nip force N.sub.3. The nip forces satisfy the relationship N.sub.1>N.sub.2>N.sub.3 for optimal printing results.
PRINTER, CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM STORING COMPUTER-READABLE INSTRUCTIONS
A printer includes a head ejecting ink from a nozzle, a platen including a placement surface on which a print medium is placed, a receiver receiving print data, and a processor. The platen moves in a movement direction between a setting position where the print medium is placed on the placement surface and a printing position where the placement surface faces the nozzle surface in a facing direction. The movement direction is orthogonal to the facing direction. The platen moves in the facing direction. The processor moves the platen to a specified height when special print data is received by the receiver. The special print data is the print data including height information indicating a platen height. The platen height is a position of the platen in the facing direction. The specified height the platen height indicated by the height information included in the special print data.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, PAPER PROCESSING SYSTEM AND COMPUTER READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM
An image forming apparatus is connected to a paper processing apparatus and includes an image forming unit, a nip part and a hardware processor. The image forming unit performs image forming on continuous paper being conveyed on a conveyance path. The nip part nips the paper on the conveyance path. The processor selectively performs first control and second control according to an output timing of a conveyance control signal if the signal is output from the paper processing apparatus or the image forming apparatus. In the first control, the processor notifies the paper processing apparatus of permission to start or stop conveying the paper after causing the nip part to perform a press-and-contact operation or a separation operation. In the second control, the processor notifies the paper processing apparatus of the permission without causing the nip part to perform either operation.
DEFECT DETECTION FOR PRINT MEDIA
A duplex sheet printer comprising a first and second sheet quality detection device for determining a suitability of a sheet for printing. The first sheet quality detection device applies a first sheet rejection threshold to which sensed sheets are compared, while the second sheet quality detection device applies a second sheet rejection threshold different from the first. The controller designates sheets in the printing system to be sensed by one of the sheet quality detection devices in accordance with the sheet's media type or the sheet being on a simplex or duplex pass. Different rejection criteria are thus applied to the sheets without adjustment of a sheet quality detection device, resulting in high speed printing.
Inkjet print apparatus and recovery method of inkjet print apparatus
The invention provides an inkjet print apparatus and a recovery method of an inkjet print apparatus, which can suppress deterioration of productivity. For that purpose, timing, at which a recovery operation is practiced in accordance with a facing time period of a print head and a print medium and a not facing time period thereof, is set.
