DIGITAL PRINTING PRESS
A digital printing press includes a printing cylinder configured to transport a sheet, a driving device (41) configured to drive the printing cylinder, an encoder (44) configured to detect the phase of the printing cylinder, and first to fourth inkjet nozzle heads (23-26) configured to print the sheet. The digital printing press includes a floating detector (22) facing the printing cylinder and configured to detect an abnormality of the sheet, and a control device (28) configured to control an operation of the driving device (41). The control device (28) includes a function of stopping the driving device (41) when the floating detector (22) detects a floating portion. The control device (28) includes a function of operating the driving device (41) based on the phase of the printing cylinder when the floating detector (22) detects the floating portion and the phase of the printing cylinder when the driving device (41) stops after floating detection and moving the floating portion detected by the floating detector (22) to a predetermined confirmation position. It is possible to provide a digital printing press capable of quickly specifying an abnormality occurrence portion detected during printing.
GUIDED TRANSPORT PATH CORRECTION
A printer deposits material onto a substrate as part of a manufacturing process for an electronic product; at least one transported component experiences error, which affects the deposition. This error is mitigated using transducers that equalize position of the component, e.g., to provide an “ideal” conveyance path, thereby permitting precise droplet placement notwithstanding the error. In one embodiment, an optical guide (e.g., using a laser) is used to define a desired path; sensors mounted to the component dynamically detect deviation from this path, with this deviation then being used to drive the transducers to immediately counteract the deviation. This error correction scheme can be applied to correct for more than type of transport error, for example, to correct for error in a substrate transport path, a printhead transport path and/or split-axis transport non-orthogonality.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND METHOD AND COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM THEREFOR
An image forming apparatus includes a controller configured to, each time an unpaired first pattern element formed on a recording medium is conveyed over a particular distance in a conveyance direction in response to a conveyor rotating by a first amount, control an image former to form a second pattern element to be paired with the unpaired first pattern element thereby forming a first test pattern, and each time an unpaired third pattern element formed on the recording medium is conveyed over a specific distance in the conveyance direction in response to the conveyor rotating by a second amount, control the image former to form a fourth pattern element to be paired with the unpaired third pattern element thereby forming a second test pattern. At least one of the first and second amounts is a non-integer multiple of a rotation amount of the conveyor that makes a single rotation.
IMAGE RECORDING APPARATUS
An image recording apparatus includes a first motor, a feeding roller, a second motor, a first driven mechanism, a recorder, and a controller. The feeding roller is configured to rotate by receiving driving force from the first motor. The first driven mechanism is configured to be driven by receiving driving force from the second motor. The controller is configured to: perform a preparing operation in response to receiving first information that instructs starting image recording by the recorder; perform a driving operation of driving the second motor to drive the first driven mechanism, in response to completing the preparing operation and not receiving second information including a recording condition and printing data; and in response to receiving the second information, stop the second motor and drive the first motor to perform a feeding operation by the feeding roller.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND PRINTING METHOD
A printing apparatus includes a transport portion that transports a printing medium, a printing portion that executes printing on the printing medium, and a control portion that controls the transport portion and the printing portion, in which the transport portion is capable of executing overlapping transport, which transports a portion of a succeeding printing medium overlapped with a blank space on a lower end portion side of an image that is printed on the printing medium, and the control portion restricts the execution of the overlapping transport depending on the concentration of the lower end portion. The control portion does not cause the transport portion to execute the overlapping transport in a case in which the concentration of the lower end portion is a predetermined threshold value or more.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND PRINTING METHOD
A printing apparatus includes a data processing portion that creates image data that corresponds to printing of a predetermined unit, a transport portion that transports a printing medium, and a printing portion that executes the printing of the predetermined unit on the printing medium on the basis of the image data, in which the data processing portion determines whether or not the creation of image data precedes the printing, causes the printing portion to execute a first printing process for printing of a lower end portion of an image of a printing target in a case in which the creation of image data is precedent, and causes the printing portion to execute a second printing process for printing of the lower end portion in a case in which the creation of image data is not precedent.
Transportation apparatus, printing apparatus, and transportation amount acquisition method
A transportation apparatus includes a transportation section that transports continuous paper in a transportation direction intersecting with a shaft direction of a transportation roller. An imaging section includes plural photoreceptor elements and captures an image of the continuous paper transported by the transportation section. The photoreceptor elements are arranged in a first direction and a second direction, the first direction intersecting with the shaft direction, and the second direction intersecting with the first direction. A transportation amount acquisition section acquires a transportation amount of the continuous paper in the transportation direction on the basis of the image captured by the imaging section. The transportation amount acquisition section acquires the transportation amount of the continuous paper by correcting a movement amount of the continuous paper in the first direction with a correction value that changes in accordance with orientation of the first direction.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND PRINTING METHOD
For a printing apparatus, a first conveyance speed for a first printing medium is determined according to first print data to be printed on the first printing medium and a second conveyance speed for a second printing medium is determined according to second print data to be printed on the second printing medium that follows the first printing medium along a conveying path. In a case where the second conveyance speed is equal to the first conveyance speed, a conveyance operation of the second printing medium is started before the first printing medium is discharged from the conveying path. In a case where the second conveyance speed is different from the first conveyance speed, the conveyance operation of the second printing medium is started after the first printing medium is discharged from the conveying path.
DETECTING ARTEFACTS ON PRINTABLE SUBSTRATES
An apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus is to detect an artefact on a printable surface. The apparatus comprises a detection element to engage the printable surface as the printable surface moves relative to the detection element, and to move away from the printable surface when an artefact passes between the detection element and the printable surface. The apparatus also comprises an actuator to be actuated in response to the detection element moving beyond a defined distance from the printable surface. A method and a print apparatus are also disclosed.
RECORDING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING RECORDING DEVICE
A recording device includes a recording head, a transport roller set, and a controller that controls a driving source that drives a transport driving roller. The controller judges whether a rear end that is an upstream end of a medium in a transport direction crosses a kicking region set in a range present downstream of a nipping position of the transport roller set in a transport direction. When the controller judges that the rear end does not cross the kicking region, the controller adjusts a feeding amount for at least one of a plurality of transport operations to be performed until the rear end reaches the kicking region in such a manner that the rear end of the medium crosses the kicking region.
