PRINTING APPARATUS
A printing apparatus includes a thermal head, a paper feed unit, a paper detection unit, an ink ribbon take-up unit, an detection unit, and a control unit. The thermal head transfers ink applied to an ink ribbon onto paper. The paper feed unit feeds paper stacked on a paper stacking unit and conveys the paper. The paper detection unit detects the fed paper. The ink ribbon takes-up unit take up the ink ribbon. The detection unit detects a printing start position of the ink ribbon. The control unit controls feeding of the stacked paper from the paper stacking unit, suspend the conveyance of the paper upon detection of the fed paper, take up the ink ribbon with the ink ribbon take-up unit, stop the ink ribbon take-up upon detection of the printing start position of the ink ribbon, and restart the conveyance of the paper with the paper feed unit.
PRINTING DEVICE INCLUDING DETACHABLE DISCHARGE TRAY POSITIONED BELOW CUTTER UNIT
A printing device includes: an image recording unit configured to record an image on a printing medium; a cutter unit configured to cut the printing medium on which the image is recorded by the image recording unit; and a medium receiving unit configured to receive the printing medium on which the image is recorded by the image recording unit. The cutter unit is positioned frontward of the image recording unit in a frontward direction. The medium receiving unit is positioned below the cutter unit at a time of an image recording operation and being detachable in the frontward direction.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a liquid applier, a heating device, and circuitry. The liquid applied is configured to apply liquid to a conveyance target object that is conveyed at a first speed. The heating device is configured to heat the conveyance target object on which the liquid is applied. The circuitry is configured to control a conveying speed of the conveyance target object. The circuitry is configured to cause the conveyance target object to be conveyed at a second speed that is faster than the first speed after the liquid applier applies the liquid to the conveyance target object.
MEDIUM STACKER AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM INCORPORATING THE MEDIUM STACKER
A medium stacker includes a stacking portion, a rotary portion, a medium holder, a medium mover, and circuitry. The stacking portion has a stacking face to stack a sheet medium on which an image is formed. The rotary portion is configured to hold a leading end of the sheet medium in a sheet conveyance direction, reverse the sheet medium on the stacking face of the stacking portion, and convey the sheet medium. The medium holder is configured to hold the sheet medium when the sheet medium is conveyed by the rotary portion. The medium mover is configured to move the sheet medium to a predetermined position in a direction orthogonal to the sheet conveyance direction of the sheet medium while the sheet medium is held by the rotary portion. The circuitry is configured to control the rotary portion and the medium mover.
INK JET RECORDING APPARATUS THAT PREVENTS WASTEFUL CONSUMPTION OF INK
An ink jet recording apparatus includes a controller that causes an image recording device, upon detecting an error with a recording sheet according to information acquired by an error information acquisition device, to suspend image recording on the recording sheet with which the error has been detected, and on another recording sheet being transported on an upstream side in a transport direction, of the recording sheet with which the error has been detected, and to perform a predetermined protective ejection including protecting an ink jet head of the image recording device, by ejecting a limited minute amount of ink from the ink jet head, at least onto a recording sheet transported subsequent to the recording sheet the image recording on which has been suspended.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND PRINTING METHOD
A printing apparatus includes an image formation unit, a tray on which a medium is placed, a movement unit, and a control unit. The image formation unit includes a first head forming a first image and a second head forming a second image. The movement unit is provided so as to be capable of moving the tray to a first position at which the medium is placed and a second position serving as a reference position. The control unit switches between a first mode and a second mode. In the first mode, a starting position is moved to an image forming region, and the tray is not moved to the second position, and a movement direction is changed to form the first image and the second image. In the second mode, after the first image is formed, the tray is moved to the second position, and then the movement direction is changed to form the second image.
MEDIUM TRANSPORT APPARATUS AND PROCESSING APPARATUS
A medium transport portion includes a main body portion, a tray unit, and a support guide member. The main body portion includes a first manual feed path and a second manual feed path. The tray unit can be accommodated in the main body portion in a non-use state, and a medium is mounted thereon in a use state. The support guide member is movable in a Z-direction, and supports the tray unit such that a first position that the tray unit is positioned in the first manual feed path, a second position of being positioned in the second manual feed path, and a third position of being accommodated in the main body portion are switched.
PRINTING APPARATUS, TRANSPORT CONTROL METHOD
A transport unit configured to transport a medium, a printing unit configured to perform printing on the medium, and a cutting unit configured to cut the medium are provided, the cutting unit located downstream of the printing unit cuts the medium into a base portion upstream of the cutting unit, and a cut piece downstream of the cutting unit, and the transport unit, with an upstream end of the cut piece in a state of being superposed over the base portion, transports the upstream end of the cut piece from downstream of the cutting unit to upstream of the cutting unit.
Re-feed prevention
Examples of an apparatus to use in a media feeder and a method to use in a media feeder are disclosed herein. An example of the apparatus includes a platen having an input to receive a medium and an output to eject the medium. The example of the apparatus additional includes a re-feed prevention device including a ramp to deflect the medium away from the input of the platen when the medium exits the output of the platen and a hooked end to catch an edge of the medium when curled as the medium exits the output of the platen.
RECORDING APPARATUS
A recording apparatus includes a medium mounting section on which a medium is to be mounted, a reverse-feeding path for reversing the medium that has been fed from the medium mounting section, a recording unit configured to perform recording onto the medium that has been reversed by the reverse-feeding path, and a reverse-discharging path for reversing the medium on which recording has been performed by the recording unit and for discharge the medium to a discharge section configured to discharge the medium, in which when viewed in a medium width direction intersecting a medium transport direction, a path section for reversing the medium in the reverse-feeding path and a path section for reversing the medium in the reverse-discharging path have portions overlapping each other in the vertical direction.
