A printing apparatus includes a conveyance unit configured to convey a sheet along a conveyance path, a printing unit configured to print an image by discharging ink to the sheet conveyed by the conveyance unit, a heating unit configured to, in a heating section on the conveyance path, heat the sheet on which the image has been printed by the printing unit, and a control unit configured to control the heating unit so that the heating section is changed in accordance with a print condition.

Feeding unit and printer

A first feeding unit is configured that is provided in a first printing unit that includes a first recording unit that executes a recording operation for a long strip-like recording medium pulled out from a first holding unit that holds the recording medium in a wound state. The first feeding unit further includes a pair of feeding rollers that sort the recording medium discharged from the first printing unit, to the side of a second printing unit stacked on the first printing unit or to the side opposite to that of the second printing unit. The first feeding unit temporarily accommodates the sorted recording medium and thereafter, feeds the recording medium to a guide path, and sorts the recording medium fed by the pair of feeding rollers, to the side of the second printing unit using a sorting part.

Recording apparatus

A printer includes a corrugating section disposed on an upstream side of a line head, the corrugating section being configured to alternately form crests and troughs in a sheet in a width direction which intersects a medium transport direction, a relaxing section that can be switched between a relaxing position in which the corrugations formed by the corrugating section are relaxed and a maintaining position in which the corrugations are maintained with respect to the sheet on a downstream side of the line head between the line head and branch points of transport paths and a controller configured to control the switching of the relaxing section between the relaxing position and the maintaining position. The controller switches the relaxing section depending on a transport destination of the recorded sheet.

A medium after recording is more effectively dried in a recording apparatus and improvement of throughput is achieved.

PRINT MEDIA FEEDING APPARATUS AND PRINTING APPARATUS

A print media feeding apparatus includes: a stacking part configured to stack the print media; a feeding roller which is movable to an abutting position at which the feeding roller contacts the print media stacked on the stacking part and to a separated position separated from the print media stacked on the stacking part and configured to feed a print medium by rotating at the abutting position; a separation member configured to separate the print media; and a return unit configured to perform a return operation of returning the print medium other than a top print medium which the feeding roller abuts. The feeding roller moves to the separated position, after feeding the print medium from the stacking part. The return unit performs the return operation upon the feeding roller moving to the separated position. After the return operation, the feeding roller stops at the abutting position.
