A dual nip release mechanism includes: a rigid actuator body including a tail portion with a handle and a pivotally-mounted head portion having a nose member extending therefrom; a rocker arm pivotally mounted about a rocker arm shaft, the rocker arm having a proximal end for engagement with part of the nose member and a distal end engaged with a first shaft; and legs hingedly connected to the tail portion, each leg having a foot engaged with a second shaft and a heel for camming engagement with a fixed plate. During use, actuation of the handle causes simultaneous movement of the first and second shafts from a nip closed position to a nip open position via pivoting of the rocker arm and simultaneous camming engagement of the heel with the fixed plate.

TRANSPORT APPARATUS AND PRINTING APPARATUS
20180339534 · 2018-11-29 ·

A transport apparatus includes an idler roller and a drive roller that transport a medium by rotating with the medium being nipped therebetween, a first frame that includes a first position and a second position that is different from the first position, a main guide shaft that extends in a transverse direction that intersects a transport direction of the medium and is joined to the first frame at the first position, a second frame that is joined to the first frame at the second position, and an urging member that exerts a force on the second frame by urging the idler roller toward the drive roller. In the transport apparatus, the first position is located in an overlapping region between the first frame and the second frame in a height direction that orthogonally intersects the transport direction and the transverse direction.

METHOD FOR FORMING PRINT, METHOD FOR PEELING OFF TRANSFER LAYER, AND THERMAL TRANSFER PRINTER

A method for forming a print obtained by transferring a transfer layer from which a removal region has been accurately removed onto a transfer receiving article and a method for peeling off a transfer layer by which a removal region of the transfer layer can be accurately removed. The method for forming a print comprises, by using a transfer film in which a transfer layer is provided on one surface of a support, a thermal transfer sheet in which a peel-off layer is provided on one surface of a substrate, and a transfer receiving article, a step of removing a removal region of the transfer layer of the transfer film by means of the peel-off layer of the thermal transfer sheet and a step of transferring the transfer layer from which the removal region has been removed onto the transfer receiving article.

PRINTING APPARATUS

A printing apparatus includes a print section, a supply path, a correction roller pair, an adjusting mechanism and a controller. The print section is configured to perform printing on a medium. The supply path is configured to supply the medium to the print section. The correction roller pair is configured to enable the medium transported on the supply path to strike the correction roller pair to correct skewing of the medium. The adjusting mechanism adjusts a nip load applied to the correction roller pair. The controller is configured to control the adjusting mechanism based on print job information. The correction roller pair includes a driving roller that has a plurality of convex portions disposed on a peripheral surface along a circumferential direction of the driving roller and a driven roller that is disposed to face the driving roller to be driven by the driving roller.

ROLLER CLEANING MECHANISM AND IMAGE FORMATION APPARATUS THEREWITH

A roller cleaning mechanism includes a cleaning member making contact with a conveying roller, a holder holding the cleaning member, a housing for the holder, and an urging member. The holder is supported on the housing swingably about a swing shaft parallel to the axial direction of a driving roller. The urging member urges the holder oppositely to the rotation direction of the conveying roller. When the conveying roller rotates, its rotative driving force keeps the holder at a cleaning position where a cleaning face of the cleaning member makes contact with the outer circumferential face of the conveying roller. When the conveying roller is halted, the urging force of the urging member keeps the holder at a retracted position where a part of the cleaning member different from the cleaning face makes contact with the outer circumferential face of the conveying roller.

Sheet conveyor assembly for a printer with media type dependent transfer

A sheet printer includes a sheet conveyor assembly including a first conveyor with a first holding device configured for exerting a holding force on a sheet proportional to a coverage of the sheet on the first conveyor and a second conveyor upstream of the first conveyor including a second holding device configured for holding and releasing the sheet, a print head assembly positioned over the first conveyor, a detector assembly for sensing the transport of the first conveyor, a controller storing on its memory a sheet media catalogue and configured to control a release timing of the second holding device for releasing the sheet partially engaged by the first conveyor based on a media type parameter selected from the media catalogue and to control the print head assembly to commence printing the sheet based on transport information from the detector assembly.
