A recording apparatus includes a recording section which performs recording by discharging ink on paper, a transport belt which is able to transport the paper by rotating, a charging roller which charges the transport belt, a cleaning unit which moves the charging roller between a contact position that is a position at which the charging roller is brought into contact with the transport belt and a separation position which is a position that is separated from the transport belt more than the contact position, and a dirt estimation section which estimates dirt on the transport belt, in which the cleaning unit moves the charging roller from the contact position to the separation position in a case where the dirt estimation section estimates that the transport belt is dirty.

The roller holder includes: a contact portion that is located upstream of the roller supporter in a conveying direction and contacts the second surface; a thin portion disposed between the roller supporter and the contact portion; and an engaging portion engaged with the moving member at a position located downstream of the thin portion in the conveying direction. The roller supporter is moved from a first position to a second position by bending of the thin portion, which bending is caused when the engaging portion is moved away from the second roller with movement of the moving member.

A printer includes a printing part that performs printing on recording paper, a cutter that cuts the recording paper, a first roller provided on the side to which the recording paper is discharged from the cutter, a second roller that is in contact with the first roller and is rotated by the rotation of the first roller, a third roller that is in contact with the first roller and is rotated by the rotation of the first roller, and a connecting arm that connects the center of the first roller and the center of the second roller, wherein the recording paper is discharged between the first roller and the second roller or between the first roller and the third roller.

A separation unit (10) of a label printer includes a metal nip roller shaft (11), a resin nip roller (12) disposed at a center part of the nip roller shaft and is supported so as to be rotatable around the nip roller shaft, and resin supporters (13) that support both ends of the nip roller shaft. The separation unit (10) is attached to the body case (2) to be relatively movable between the normal ejection position and the separation ejection position. Each of the pair of supporters has a part protruding toward the nip roller, and this part is a roller holder (13d) to insert an end of the nip roller shaft. The roller holder and the supporter are integrally formed for enhanced strength of the supporter.

A first slit extending internally along the scanning direction is formed in the upper portion of the cutter cover. The protruding portion protrudes from an inside of the cutter cover toward an outside through the first slit.

A roller cleaning mechanism includes a cleaning member making contact with a conveying roller, a holder holding the cleaning member, a housing for the holder, and an urging member. The holder is supported on the housing swingably about a swing shaft parallel to the axial direction of a driving roller. The urging member urges the holder oppositely to the rotation direction of the conveying roller. When the conveying roller rotates, its rotative driving force keeps the holder at a cleaning position where a cleaning face of the cleaning member makes contact with the outer circumferential face of the conveying roller. When the conveying roller is halted, the urging force of the urging member keeps the holder at a retracted position where a part of the cleaning member different from the cleaning face makes contact with the outer circumferential face of the conveying roller.

A sheet conveyance apparatus includes a belt, a first roller configured to stretch the belt on a downstream side of a sheet conveyance surface of the belt in a direction of rotation of the belt, a second roller configured to stretch the belt on an upstream side of the sheet conveyance surface, a third roller configured to stretch the belt at a position upstream of the second roller in the direction of rotation, a steering roller disposed between the first roller and the third roller in the direction of rotation, and a tension roller. At least one of the second roller and the third roller is a heating roller. The tension roller is configured to press a stretched portion of the belt that is stretched by the second roller and the third roller from an outer side toward an inner side to apply the tension to the belt.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit and a sheet conveyance unit including an endless belt, a plurality of stretch rollers, a tension roller, a heater, a first urging member, a first switching unit, a second urging member, a second switching unit, and an operation portion. The first switching unit switch the tension roller between a first state in which the tension roller does not urge the belt by not being urged with the first urging member, and a second state in which the tension roller urges the belt by a first urging force by being urged with the first urging member. The second switching unit switch the tension roller between the second state and a third state in which the tension roller urges the belt by a second urging force that is larger than the first urging force by being urged with the second urging member.

A medium processing apparatus includes a feeding portion configured to transport a medium, a processing tray on which the medium transported by the feeding portion is placeable, a processing portion configured to process the medium on the processing tray, and a discharging portion configured to discharge the medium placed on the processing tray, wherein a first mode in which the medium transported by the feeding portion is placed on the processing tray and then discharged by the discharging portion, and a second mode in which the medium transported by the feeding portion is discharged by the discharging portion without being placed on the processing tray are switchable.
