A printing apparatus includes a conveyance unit configured to convey a sheet along a conveyance path, a printing unit configured to print an image by discharging ink to the sheet conveyed by the conveyance unit, a first heating unit configured to, in a heating section on the conveyance path, heat the sheet on which the image has been printed by the printing unit, and a control unit configured to control the first heating unit so that the heating section is changed in accordance with a print condition.

Printer and recording medium

The disclosure discloses a printer including a feeder configured to feed one print-receiving medium that comprises a plurality of print-receiving parts. A printing head is configured to form a plurality of print parts by sequentially forming desired prints on the plurality of print-receiving parts. A CPU executes a determination process and a printing control process. In the determination process, a type of the one print-receiving medium is determined on the basis of a comparison between the parameters of the one print-receiving medium detected by a sensor and the parameters of each of the plural types of print-receiving medium stored in a memory. In the printing control process, controlling a print formation operation of the printing head is controlled on the basis of a determination result in the determination process.

A printing apparatus includes a printing unit configured to perform printing onto a printing medium, a driving roller configured to provide a transporting force to the printing medium, a plurality of driven rollers configured to press the printing medium, which is transported by the driving roller, and configured to rotate in conjunction with a movement of the printing medium, a plurality of support members each being configured to support a roller shaft serving as a rotation axis about which each of the plurality of driven rollers rotates, a base body to which the plurality of support members are attached, and an attachment/removal mechanism configured to cause the plurality of support members to be removably attachable individually to the base body.

Method and printing device for reducing deformations of a recording medium

In preparation for the stop of a printer, a forward and backward movement of the recording medium in the form of a web is implemented so that the segment of the recording medium that is in contact with a roller of the printer given a stop of the printer is moved at least partially before or after the roller. In preparation for the stop, climatic properties of the recording medium may thus be adapted to the climatic properties of the local environment of the roller, where deformations of the recording medium may be advantageously reduced or eliminated.

IMAGE RECORDING APPARATUS

There is provided an image recording apparatus, including: a feed roller; a conveyer; a recording head; a carriage; a motor; a transmission mechanism; a lock detector; and a controller. The controller is configured to: record image on recording medium by alternately repeating a line feed process and a recording process; start feeding of second recording medium, before the recoding of the image to first recoding medium is completed, by rotating the motor to drive the feed roller; continue, in a case that the motor lock state is detected before the recording of the image to first recording medium is completed, a control for rotating the motor, until a process for recoding the image to first recording medium being executed when the motor lock state is detected, is completed; and stop a driving of the motor after the process for recoding the image to first recording medium is completed.

IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

An image forming apparatus includes an applicator and an irradiator. The applicator is configured to apply a liquid composition containing water or an organic solvent onto a recording medium. The irradiator is configured to irradiate the recording medium with light having a peak wavelength of 300 nm to 450 nm.

A sheet feeding apparatus includes a sheet stacking portion on which a sheet is stacked, and a one-way clutch configured such that (i) in delivering the sheet stacked on the sheet stacking portion toward a separation nip, rotation of a drive shaft in a first rotational direction is transmitted through the one-way clutch, a drive gear and a gear train rotate a pick-up roller without slipping of the one-way clutch, and (ii) after a leading edge of the sheet has reached the separation nip, the pick-up roller is dragged and rotated by the sheet conveyed by a feed roller, rotation of the pick-up roller is transmitted through the gear train to the drive gear, and the drive gear is rotated in the first rotational direction with respect to the drive shaft that is rotated in the first rotational direction while the one-way clutch is slipping.

NIPPING ROLLERS

Examples of the present disclosure relate to a device for guiding a sheet, the device comprising a nip rollers arrangement comprising two nipping surfaces between a common drive roller and two freewheeling rollers aligned along a common direction and a freewheeling shaping element located between the two nipping surfaces along the common direction whereby the shaping element defines a shaping surface between the two nipping surfaces. The shaping element is displaceable between a first and a second position along a direction perpendicular to the common direction. The shaping surface is on a first side of the nipping surfaces when the shaping element is in the first position and the shaping surface is on a second opposite side of the nipping surfaces when the shaping element is in the second position.
