The reference member defines one boundary of the conveyance path. By the aligning roller, the sheet conveyed by the conveying roller is abutted against the reference member. The aligning roller has a shaft, a first layer, and a second layer provided between the shaft and the first layer and having a hardness lower than that of the first layer.

A printing apparatus includes a conveyance unit arranged on an upstream side of a printing unit with respect to a conveyance direction of a print medium and configured to convey the print medium to the printing unit, and a control unit configured to, after a start of printing of the print medium by the printing unit, regulate the printing by the printing unit during a time when a leading edge of the print medium conveyed by the conveyance unit is passing through a set section preset on a conveyance path of the print medium.

An image recording apparatus includes a platen, a recorder, and a controller. The platen includes ribs arranged at intervals in a first direction and protruding from a base. The platen supports a recording medium on at least a part of the ribs. The recorder is arranged to face the platen and records an image on the recording medium by causing a colorant to adhere to the recording medium. The controller controls the recorder to record a borderless image, in which no margin is reserved at least on a first end of the recording medium, by causing a portion of the colorant to adhere to the recording medium and another portion of the colorant to exceed in the first direction from the first end of the recording medium by a first length. The first length is a length corresponding to a size of the recording medium in the first direction.

An image recording apparatus includes a platen, a recorder, and a controller. The platen includes ribs arranged at intervals in a first direction and protruding from a base. The platen supports a recording medium on at least a part of the ribs. The recorder is arranged to face the platen and records an image on the recording medium by causing a colorant to adhere to the recording medium. The controller controls the recorder to record a borderless image, in which no margin is reserved at least on a first end of the recording medium, by causing a portion of the colorant to adhere to the recording medium and another portion of the colorant to exceed in the first direction from the first end of the recording medium by a first length. The first length is a length corresponding to a size of the recording medium in the first direction.

An image forming apparatus includes a rotatable endless belt; a recording head; a platen member; a first guiding member provided movably in a direction crossing the conveying surface and for guiding a first surface, of the sheet conveyed toward the conveying surface, opposing the recording head; a second guiding member for guiding a second surface of the sheet conveyed toward the conveying surface; a first supporting portion provided movably and integrally with the first guiding member and for supporting the first guiding member in contact with the conveying surface; and a second supporting portion provided between the first guiding member and the second guiding member and for supporting the first guiding member relative to the second guiding member.

A sheet conveyance device includes an upper unit fixed to a device body and including an upper conveyance guide forming a conveyance path, a lower unit arranged below the upper unit, including a lower conveyance guide forming the conveyance path with the upper conveyance guide, and rotatable downward relative to the upper unit, a biasing member having one end swingably supported by the lower unit and biasing the lower unit in a contracted state, and a moving member swingably supporting another end of the biasing member and moving the other end from a first position to a second position, wherein when the other end is at the first position, the biasing member has a first length, and when the other end is at the second position, the biasing member has a shorter second length, and the moving member is fixed with the other end at the second position.

A sheet conveyance device includes an upper unit fixed to a device body and including an upper conveyance guide forming a conveyance path, a lower unit arranged below the upper unit, including a lower conveyance guide forming the conveyance path with the upper conveyance guide, and rotatable downward relative to the upper unit, a biasing member having one end swingably supported by the lower unit and biasing the lower unit in a contracted state, and a moving member swingably supporting another end of the biasing member and moving the other end from a first position to a second position, wherein when the other end is at the first position, the biasing member has a first length, and when the other end is at the second position, the biasing member has a shorter second length, and the moving member is fixed with the other end at the second position.
