SHEET CONVEYING DEVICE CAPABLE OF ADJUSTING ATTITUDE OF CORRECTING PORTION THAT CORRECTS CONVEYANCE ATTITUDE OF SHEET, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A sheet conveying device includes a first conveying portion, a correcting portion, a second conveying portion, and an angle changing portion. The first conveying portion conveys a sheet. The correcting portion is provided on an upstream side of the first conveying portion in a conveyance direction of the sheet by the first conveying portion. The correcting portion has an opposed surface that is opposed to a side end of the sheet in a first direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction. The second conveying portion is provided on an upstream side of the correcting portion in the conveyance direction. The second conveying portion conveys the sheet in a second direction toward the opposed surface. The angle changing portion changes an inclination angle of the opposed surface with respect to the conveyance direction.

SHEET ALIGNING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM
A sheet aligning device includes a conveying roller, a reference member, and an aligning roller. The conveying roller conveys a sheet in a predetermined conveyance direction along a conveyance path. The reference member defines one boundary of the conveyance path. By the aligning roller, the sheet conveyed by the conveying roller is abutted against the reference member. The reference member has a side surface on a side of the aligning roller. The side surface has a first side surface and a second side surface. The first side surface is along the boundary of the conveyance path. The second side surface is provided contiguous with the first side surface at least on one of an upstream and downstream sides of the first side surface in the conveyance direction, and is further separated from the conveyance path as it is farther from the first side surface.

IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS THAT CORRECTS SKEW OF RECORDING SHEET BEING TRANSPORTED
An image forming apparatus includes a skew correction mechanism having an alignment plate extending parallel to a transport direction of a recording sheet, and configured to correct a skew of the recording sheet with respect to the transport direction, by pressing a side of the recording sheet extending along the transport direction, against the alignment plate, an inclination angle adjustment mechanism that enables manual adjustment of the inclination angle of the alignment plate with respect to the transport direction, a calculator that calculates a distance between the leading edge corner and the trailing edge corner in the width direction orthogonal to the transport direction, detected by the detection device, as a deviation amount of the recording sheet, and calculates an adjustment amount of the inclination angle that reduces the deviation amount, and a controller that notifies the adjustment amount of the inclination angle calculated by the calculator, to a user.
MEDIUM PLACEMENT DEVICE
It includes a placement section on which medium can be placed, a first edge guide configured to align an edge of the medium placed on the placement section, and a first guide shaft configured to guide movement of the first edge guide. The first edge guide includes a first contact section that can contact a first edge of the medium, a first locker formed with a first hole through which the first guide shaft passes, a second locker formed with a second hole through which the first guide shaft passes, and a first biasing section that biases the first locker and the second locker. The first locker and the second locker are biased by the first biasing section to tilt in different directions.
