PRINTING APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM
A printing apparatus includes a conveyance unit including a pair of rotation members that nip a roll sheet, and configured to convey the sheet by rotation of the pair of rotation members, a printing unit, and a control unit configured to, upon executing a new print job, cause the conveyance unit to perform a preparatory operation in which the sheet is conveyed in a forward direction and then conveyed in a reverse direction and stopped. If a predetermined condition is met after completion of a previous print job, the control unit causes the conveyance unit to perform the preparatory operation, and if the predetermined condition is not met after completion of a previous print job, the control unit does not cause the conveyance unit to perform the preparatory operation.
PRINTER AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME
A printer includes: a transport roller for transporting recording paper in a transport direction; a head for printing on the recording paper; a cutter disposed downstream of the head in the transport direction and configured to cut the recording paper; a first sensor disposed downstream of the cutter in the transport direction and configured to detect the recording paper; a communication section configured to receive print data; and a controller. The controller detects the recording paper by using the first sensor at least at startup, when the recording paper is detected, the recording paper is transported by the transport roller and is cut by the cutter, whereas when the recording paper is not detected, the recording paper is not transported by the transport roller and is not cut by the cutter, and when the communication section receives the print data, the controller performs printing on the recording paper by using the head.
Printer adapters for holding fanfolds of media and systems and methods thereof
Described herein are novel printer adapters and systems and methods thereof that include techniques and structures for converting a desktop or compact printer configured to print onto rolls of media into a desktop or compact printer configured to print onto fanfolds of media. In other words, described herein are novel printer adapters and systems and methods thereof for converting a roll printer to a fanfold printer.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING AN ACCESS POINT LEADING INTO A SAFETY ZONE OF A ROLL WINDER OR UNWINDER, AND PRINTING PRESS
In some examples, an access point that leads into a safety zone of a roll unwinder or winder is monitored by a monitoring sensor system. The monitoring sensor system includes two scanners having respective measuring beams that pass over an angular region situated in the same plane extending in an opening. The access point is monitored in a pattern of multiple protection fields having various sizes and/or shapes. Multiple ones of the protection fields are encompassed by a next-larger and/or next-wider protection field, entirely or at least viewed in the width and toward the top. The scan images of the two scanners are checked for a breach of the relevant protection fields in differing, adjoining, or overlapping partial regions of the plane. Information about the permissibility of a determined protection field breach is derived by evaluation of breach patterns of breached protection fields obtained in the two partial regions.
PRINTER
A printer provided with a storing space for a paper roll having a core hole in the center includes a paper roll holder having a protrusion adapted to fit into the core hole of the paper roll. The paper roll holder is switchable between a protruded state that the protrusion protrudes into the storing space and a retracted state that the protrusion retracts from the storing space. The printer further includes a stopper adapted to engage with the paper roll holder while the paper roll holder is in the protruded state to prevent the protrusion from turning to a predetermined direction. The paper roll holder moves when pushed by the paper roll that is being set into the storing space. Movement of the paper roll holder releases the engagement with the stopper to allow the protrusion to turn to the predetermined direction.
PRINTING DEVICE INCLUDING MAIN BODY UNIT HAVING ATTACHMENT-DETACHMENT PORTION, AND PLATEN UNIT ATTACHABLE TO AND DETACHABLE FROM ATTACHMENT-DETACHMENT PORTION
A printing device includes: a platen unit; and a main body unit. The platen unit includes a platen roller configured to convey a printing medium. The main body unit includes: a printing head; and an attachment-detachment portion which the platen unit is attachable to and detachable from. The printing head is configured to nip the printing medium in cooperation with the platen roller to perform printing on the printing medium. When the platen unit is attached to the attachment-detachment portion, the main body unit and the platen unit are assembled as a single unit. When the platen unit is detached from the attachment-detachment portion, the main body unit and the platen unit are separated as separate units.
Printing apparatus
A printing apparatus is able to perform partial cutting in which a portion of thermal paper remains uncut and full cutting in which the thermal paper is completely cut, and the printing apparatus includes a movable blade, a plate, and a driven gear. The plate includes a guide groove, the movable blade includes a guide shaft, the guide groove includes a first side and a second side, and the second side includes a certain portion extending in a direction away from the first side. When the driving gear rotates in a first rotational direction, the guide shaft changes a position with respect to the guide groove along the first side to perform the partial cutting, and when the driving gear rotates in a second rotational direction, the guide shaft changes the position with respect to the guide groove along the second side to perform the full cutting.
PRINTER
According to an embodiment, a printer includes a drop portion that catches, in a case where a diameter of a roll of paper stored in a holder becomes small, the roll of paper that falls from the holder. The printer further includes a plurality of support rollers that are arranged so as to sandwich an inlet of the drop portion and rotatably support the roll of paper PR stored in the holder. At least one of the plurality of support rollers is a short-width roller whose width in an axial direction of a shaft is shorter than a paper width of the roll of paper PR, and a void is provided at a non-shaft arrangement part provided at an extension portion of the short-width roller in the axial direction.
Printing Apparatus Including Therein Sheet Holder
A printing apparatus includes a first supporting portion, a second supporting portion, and an adjusting mechanism. The adjusting mechanism includes a first rack, a second rack, a pinion gear, and a third supporting portion configured to movably support the first and second racks and configured to rotatably support the pinion gear. The third supporting portion includes first to fourth ribs. The first and second racks are respectively movable in first and second areas in an axial direction. The first area and the second area define one end and another end. The first rib and the fourth rib are positioned close to the another end, and the second rib and the third rib are positioned close to the one end.
PRINTING MEDIUM HOLDER
A printing medium holder system is described which has first and second printing medium holders, a connection mechanism to connect the holder system to a printer and a pivot mechanism. The pivot mechanism is connected to each of the first printing medium holder, the second printing medium holder and the connection mechanism. The pivot mechanism is pivotable so that each of the first printing mechanism holder and the second printing mechanism holder move relative to the connection mechanism between a first configuration of the holder system and a second configuration of the holder system. A printing system and a printing device are also described.
