A cassette incorporating a printing tape to be printed by the print head is detachably attachable to the cassette receiving portion in a first direction. The power transmission portion includes a plurality of gears including a first gear movable from a first position to a second position downstream of the first position in the first direction. The power transmission portion is configured to switch a ratio of a rotation number of the platen roller to a rotation number of the motor depending on whether the first gear is at the first position or at the second position to transmit the driving force to the platen roller.
Overhead label print and apply system
An overhead label print and apply system includes a conveyance path, a common label applier located above the conveyance path, a first label print and dispense unit and a second label print and dispense unit. The first label print and dispense unit is positionable to feed printed labels to the common label applier. The second label print and dispense unit is positionable to feed printed labels to the common label applier.
Cartridge
Disclosed is a cartridge installed in a tape printing device, the cartridge including: a tape path through which a printing tape introduced from a device-side tape introduction port is fed toward a device-side tape ejection port in a state in which the cartridge is installed in a cartridge installation part; and a tape retention part that retains the printing tape introduced into a tape path in a state in which the cartridge is not installed in the cartridge installation part, wherein, when the cartridge is installed in the cartridge installation part, the tape retention part engages an insertion convex part that protrudes from a bottom surface of the cartridge installation part to cancel retention of the printing tape.
Media Cartridge and Media Processing Device Engagement Mechanisms
A media cartridge includes: a base defining a media chamber and including a lower wall and an opposing upper wall; an identification circuit disposed on the lower wall, the identification circuit configured to engage with an electronic interface of a printer; a ledge on the upper wall of the base, the ledge configured to receive downward pressure from an inner surface of a lid of the printer in a closed position; wherein the identification circuit is aligned with the ledge to receive at least a portion of the downward pressure.
TAPE CARTRIDGE, TAPE ROLL, AND TAPE CARTRIDGE SET
There is provided a tape cartridge, in which the cartridge case is provided with an outer protrusion portion received by an outer recess portion, the outer protrusion portion blocks insertion of a third core projection into a core hole of a tape core B around which a tape B, which is different in type from the tape A, is wound and which has a shape different from that of the tape core A, by contact with the tape core B when the tape roll A is mistakenly replaced with a tape roll B included in a tape cartridge B, which is configured to be mounted on a tape printing apparatus, and including the tape B and the tape core B.
PRINTING DEVICE CAPABLE OF DRIVING PLATEN ROLLER AND CUTTER BY A SINGLE MOTOR
A printing device includes a cassette accommodation portion, a platen roller, a cutter, a motor, a first drive transmission portion and a second drive transmission portion. A printing cassette incorporating a printing tape is detachably attachable to the cassette accommodation portion. The platen roller is rotatable to convey the printing tape of the printing cassette. The first drive transmission portion is configured to transmit a drive force of the motor to the platen roller in a state where the printing cassette is attached to the cassette accommodation portion. The second drive transmission portion is configured to transmit the drive force of the motor to the cutter. The motor has at least a portion overlapping the cassette accommodation portion in a first direction parallel to a rotational axis of the platen roller.
Tape cassette having conveying passage for conveying tape
A tape cassette used for a printer includes a thermal head and a cassette holder to which the tape cassette is attachable. The tape cassette includes a tape roll, a casing, a regulation guide and a pressure member. The tape roll is formed by winding a tape. The tape has a width defining a widthwise direction. The casing accommodates therein the tape roll. A tape conveying passage is defined in the casing. The regulation guide is positioned at the tape conveying passage to restrict displacement of the tape in the widthwise direction. The pressure member is positioned upstream of the regulation guide in a conveying direction of the tape and along the tape conveying passage. The pressure member is in contact with the tape in a contacting direction to apply pressing force to the tape in the contacting direction.
Tape cassette including RFID tag positioned to overlap with tape roll accommodated in cassette case
A cassette tape includes: a cassette case; a first tape roll and a second tape roll accommodated in the cassette case and rotatably supported thereby; and an RFID tag disposed at one of an upper wall and a lower wall of the cassette case. The first tape roll includes a first tape wound about a first winding axis extending in an axial direction. The second tape roll includes a second tape wound about an axis different from the first winding axis and extending in the axial direction. The second tape roll has a smaller diameter than the first tape roll. The RFID tag includes an antenna and a storage element for radiocommunication to read and write data. A part of the RFID tag is positioned to overlap with a part of the first tape roll in a predetermined direction parallel to the axial direction.
Printing apparatus
A printing apparatus including: a first roller mechanism including: a first shaft part having a first gear; and a first roller in which the first shaft part is inserted; and a second roller mechanism including: a movable holder configured to be moved in directions coming close to and being separated from a printing medium by a displacement mechanism; a second shaft part which is rotatably supported on the movable holder and having a second gear; a second roller in which the second shaft part is inserted, tiltable with respect to a shaft center of the second shaft part, and having an engaging groove recessed in an inner peripheral surface of an intermediate part of the second roller in a shaft center direction; and a protrusion protruding from an outer peripheral surface of the second shaft part and engaged with the engaging groove of the second roller.
