20190160836 · 2019-05-30 · ·

A roll paper holder is provided which rotatably holds belt-like paper to be conveyed towards a printing section when a roll of paper is obtained by winding the paper on an upstream side in a conveyance direction with respect to the printing section. The roll paper holder includes a side wall section in contact with both side ends of the roll of paper in a width direction to prevent the roll of paper from moving in the width direction. The holder further includes at least one protrusion located outside a range where it can contact with the side end of the roll paper to be held having the largest diameter in the side wall section. The at least one protrusion is configured to protrude by a predetermined dimension from a portion contacting with the side end to control a position of the paper in the width direction.

RECORDING APPARATUS, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING RECORDING APPARATUS

With a recording apparatus for performing recording onto a continuous sheet to be conveyed, for starting conveyance of a continuous sheet, control is started so that with the first conveyance roller for conveying a continuous sheet on the upstream side of a recording portion in a conveyance path of a continuous sheet being stopped, the speed of a second conveyance roller for conveying a continuous sheet on the downstream side of the recording portion in the conveyance path becomes a first speed, and control is changed so that the speed of the second conveyance roller becomes a second speed faster than the first speed, and moreover control of the first conveyance roller is started so that the speed of the first conveyance roller may become a third speed faster than the first speed and slower than the second speed.

Label printer for linerless labels

A linerless label is printed and separated from a ribbon (7) of the labels by a label printer (1, 1) having a printing unit (2, 2), a holder (6) for the linerless label ribbon, a cutting unit (3) and a paper-feeding unit (8, 8). The paper-feeding unit advances the linerless label ribbon through the printing unit and the cutting unit. The printing unit prints a part of the linerless label ribbon as it is advanced. The printed linerless label (9) is separated from the linerless label ribbon by the closing of at least two blades (4, 5) arranged on the sides of the linerless label ribbon. Afterward, the blades return to an open starting position for a next cutting operation. Before the blades open, the linerless label ribbon is pulled back from the blades, creating a distance (z) between the linerless label ribbon and the blades).

APPARATUS FOR THREADING AN INTERMEDIATE TRANSFER MEMBER OF A PRINTING SYSTEM

A printing system is described that has an intermediate transfer member in the form of a seamed endless belt for transporting an ink image from an image forming station, at which an ink image is deposited on the intermediate transfer member, to an impression station, where the ink image is transferred onto a printing substrate. The belt has along its edges formations of a greater thickness than the belt. The formations are received in channels to guide the belt and maintain the belt under lateral tension. Two drive members are provided, each located within a respective one of the channels. The two drive members are connected for movement in synchronism with one another and each has a respective laterally projecting gripper shaped for form locking engagement with the formations on a leading end of a strip from which the intermediate transfer member is to be formed. Rotation of the drive members during installation of a new intermediate transfer member serves to thread the strip through the printing system by pulling the strip from its leading end.
