INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS
A recording head in an inkjet recording apparatus forms an image on paper using ink. A first sheet of paper has first and second sides. A second sheet of paper has third and fourth sides. The recording head forms a first image and a first mark image on the first side based on first image data, and then a second image and a second mark image on the second side based on second image data. The first mark image represents a first reference location in a first rectangular region in which the first image is to be formed. The second mark image represents a second reference location in a second rectangular region in which the second image is to be formed. A controller determines an enlargement ratio of the second image to be formed on the fourth side based on a discrepancy between the first and second reference locations.
Printing apparatus for web
A controller: generates a first corrected pulse signal by correcting a received first pulse signal or generate a second corrected pulse signal by correcting a received second pulse signal, based on a difference value between a first rotation cycle of a first roller and a second rotation cycle of a second roller such that a difference between a first pulse cycle of the received first pulse signal and a second pulse cycle of the received second pulse signal is reduced; upon generating the first corrected pulse signal, controls first print timings in respective first print mechanisms of a first printer based on the generated first corrected pulse signal; and upon generating the second corrected pulse signal, controls second print timings in respective second print mechanisms of a second printer based on the generated second corrected pulse signal.
DANCER SUSPENSION ASSEMBLY FOR A ROLL-TO-ROLL PRINTER
A dancer suspension assembly for use in a roll-to-roll printing system, which assembly comprises a wire element connectable to a dancer of the printing system, which wire element is connected to actuator via a spring element, which actuator is configured to control a spring force exerted by the spring element on the wire element, and a pulley assembly around which the wire element runs. The spring element allows the operator to adjust the spring force and to apply said spring force to the dancer at any position of the dancer. Both the web tension and the dancer position can be controlled in a simple manner.
Printing apparatus having a splice portion
A printing apparatus for printing on printing media in a continuous business form. The apparatus includes a transport device, a detector for detecting a splice portion between the printing media transported by the transport device, a printing section for printing on the printing media transported by the transport device, a drying section for drying at a drying temperature the printing media printed in the printing section and transported by the transport device, and a controller for operating the transport device to reduce tension applied to the splice portion at least while the splice portion is located in the drying section.
Media height non-uniformity detection
In an example of the disclosure, power of a first light beam emitted across a web media along a length of the roller is measured utilizing a first optical transmitter and first optical receiver pair situated adjacent to a roller. Power of a second light beam emitted across a length of the roller is measured utilizing a second optical transmitter and second optical receiver pair situated adjacent to the roller. A media height non-uniformity is identified based upon of the measurement of the power of the first light beam and the measurement of the power of the second light beam.
Printer cassette with movable tensioning roller and associated printer
An apparatus for holding label stock includes a body including a base and a roll holding area with a roll holding support extending from the base for receiving a roll of label stock. A plurality of rollers are located along a label stock feed path from the roll holding area to a label stock exit zone of the body. The plurality of rollers include a tensioning roller that is movable relative to the base to dissipate tension loads on label stock during label stock movement.
PRINT MEDIA TENSION
In one example, the tension in a print media may be determined in a region between a roller for unwinding the print media and a print zone. In this example, the rotational speed of the roller may be controlled based on the determined tension of the print media.
Printing apparatus
Disclosed is a printing apparatus including a recording head configured to perform printing on a medium that is transported in a transport direction, a guide portion disposed on a downstream side of the recording head in the transport direction and configured to guide the medium, and a first heating unit disposed between the recording head and the guide portion in the transport direction and configured to heat the medium. The guide portion includes a contact member configured to guide the medium by contacting the medium, a coupling portion coupled with the contact member, and a holding unit configured to hold the contact member via the coupling portion. Thermal conductivity of the coupling portion is lower than thermal conductivity of the holding unit.
TRANSPORT DEVICE AND PRINTING DEVICE
Provided are a transport device and a printing device configured to minimize fluctuation in a tension of a medium in a portion between a first transport unit and a second transport unit. A transport device provided to a printing device includes a transport mechanism serving as an example of the first transport unit, a winding unit serving as the second transport unit disposed downstream of the transport mechanism in a transport direction, a tension imparting unit provided with a tension bar serving as an example of a tension imparting member biased toward a medium between the transport mechanism and the winding unit and configured to impart tension to the medium, and a biasing force adjustment unit serving as an adjustment unit configured to adjust at least one of a biasing force of the tension bar and a relative speed between the tension bar and the medium.
PRINTER
To provide a printer including a tension applying mechanism for applying tension to a long medium, where the tension applying mechanism can be easily installed when the tension applying mechanism is necessary and the tension applying mechanism can be easily detached when the tension applying mechanism is unnecessary. The printer includes a printer main body that performs printing on the long medium, a supporting body including a supporting frame that supports the printer main body from a lower side, and tension applying mechanisms each including a tension bar that comes into contact with the medium and applies tension to the medium. The tension applying mechanisms each include a frame in which a guide groove having a slit shape for guiding the tension bar in a vertical direction is formed, and the frame 24 is detachably attached to the supporting body.
