A recording head in an inkjet recording apparatus forms an image on paper using ink. A first sheet of paper has first and second sides. A second sheet of paper has third and fourth sides. The recording head forms a first image and a first mark image on the first side based on first image data, and then a second image and a second mark image on the second side based on second image data. The first mark image represents a first reference location in a first rectangular region in which the first image is to be formed. The second mark image represents a second reference location in a second rectangular region in which the second image is to be formed. A controller determines an enlargement ratio of the second image to be formed on the fourth side based on a discrepancy between the first and second reference locations.

A printing apparatus includes a printing unit that performs printing on a print medium with a sheet shape, a medium feeding unit and a medium winding unit that conveys the print medium in a predetermined conveyance direction, a controller that controls the printing unit, the medium feeding unit, and the medium winding unit, and a shaft that winds the printed print medium. The controller includes a cutting position determination unit that determines a cutting position to cut and separate the print medium in the width direction upstream by a predetermined length from the end of the image of the first print surface in the conveyance direction, and the cutting position determination unit determines the cutting position so as to cut upstream from the end with an increase in the circumferential length of the print medium wound around the shaft.

Label printing device

A label printing device includes: a conveying unit configured to convey a mountless label; a shaft portion configured to change a conveying direction of the mountless label; a cutting unit configured to cut the mountless label of which the conveying direction is changed by the shaft portion and issue a label; and a controller configured to control the conveying unit and the cutting unit. The controller executes a preparatory operation mode in which the mountless label is conveyed a predetermined distance longer than a length of a portion extending from the shaft portion to the cutting unit in the mountless label by the conveying unit and is cut by the cutting unit when a label is not issued for more than a predetermined time.

Medium wind-up device, printing machine, and medium wind-up method

A medium wind-up device is provided to suppress causing a wrinkle at a time of winding a medium, and also suppress a fluctuation of a winding position. The medium wind-up device includes: a tension roller that presses a medium, which is belt-shaped and transferred in a transfer direction that is predetermined, in order to provide the medium with a tension; a reversing roller that reverses the medium pressed by the tension roller, and the reversing roller being rotatable so as to follow a move of the medium; a loading mechanism that is capable of placing a load against a rotation of the reversing roller; and a wind-up portion that winds up the medium reversed by the reversing roller.

A printing apparatus (printer) is provided in which a base material is conveyed by a roll-to-roll method and feedback control is performed on a tension imposed on the base material, and which includes a control unit, a first drive motor (front drive motor) configured to control a speed of conveyance of conveying the base material, and a second drive motor (feeding motor, rear drive motor, winding motor) configured to control the tension imposed on the base material. In a case where a conveyance operation for conveying the base material is stopped based on detection of a foreign object, and when a speed of the first drive motor is at a predetermined value or less, the control unit stops the tension control performed by the second drive motor.
