PRINTING APPARATUS, METHOD OF CONTROLLING PRINTING APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
Provided is a printing apparatus that can be downsized while degradation in the print quality is suppressed. To perform skew correction on a second print medium on which printing is to be performed subsequent to a first print medium, a first conveying unit disposed upstream of the printing position where the printing unit performs printing on the print medium is stopped. Then, driving and stopping a third conveying unit disposed downstream of a second conveying unit is controlled, depending on whether the first print medium after printing has already passed by the second conveying unit when the first conveying unit is stopped, the second conveying unit being driven by the same driving source as for the first conveying unit and is disposed downstream of the printing position.
Inkjet recording apparatus
The liquid ejection apparatus with a liquid jetting head and support members is described. A first support member and a second support member support a guide and feeding roller in a scanning direction and are attached to a housing of the liquid ejection apparatus. The housing at the location to which the first support member is attached is easier to deform in the scanning direction than housing at the location to which the second support member is attached. Further, the housing at the first location may include a projection. The first support member may be attached to the projection.
HEAD CLEANING DEVICE AND LIQUID DISCHARGE APPARATUS
A head cleaning device includes a first wiping member, a first drive mechanism, a second wiping member, a second drive mechanism, a common drive source, and control circuitry. The first wiping member wipes a nozzle face of each of a plurality of liquid discharge heads. The first drive mechanism moves the first wiping member to a first wiping position at which the first wiping member wipes the nozzle face and a first retraction position spaced apart from the nozzle face. The second wiping member wipes the nozzle face. The second drive mechanism moves the second wiping member to a second wiping position at which the second wiping member wipes the nozzle face and a second retraction position spaced apart from the nozzle face. The common drive source drives the first drive mechanism and the second drive mechanism. The control circuitry controls the common drive source.
Image forming apparatus and method for performing preparation operations prior to image data receipt
An image forming apparatus includes a communication interface, an image forming unit, a plurality of sheet feeders, and a motor configured to selectively apply a drive force any of the sheet feeders. A transmission assembly switches transmission to any one of the sheet feeders. A controller receives preceding data from the communication interface, and, in response, controls the transmission assembly to initiate a switch of the transmission of the drive force to a standard sheet feeder among the plurality of the sheet feeders. In response to receipt control data received after the preceding data, the controller controls the image forming unit, motor, and transmission assembly to form an image on the sheet based on an image forming condition included in the control data.
Switching apparatus for a driving system
A switching apparatus for a driving system includes a motor, a first function unit, a second function unit and a power switching unit. The power switching unit includes a planetary gear set connected to the motor and driven by the motor and a swinging mechanism connected to the planetary gear set and driven by the planetary gear set. The power switching unit is switchable between a first position, where the power switching unit is drivingly connected to the first function unit, and a second position, where the power switching unit is drivingly connected to the second function unit.
Selectable drive printing device
A selectable drive printing device includes a feedshaft to selectively drive a print drive system and a scan drive system, and a shifter to selectively shift a drive selector assembly of the selectable drive printing device between a scanning system drive position wherein the scan drive system is driven and a printing system drive position wherein the print drive system is driven. The shifter is coaxially and rotatably coupled around the feedshaft. Further, the shifter selectively drives the print drive system and the scan drive system based on an angular position of the shifter about the feedshaft.
Selectable drive system
A printing device includes a carriage slidably mounted on a carriage rail, the carriage to move along the carriage rail, and a selectable drive system includes a capping system to cap a number of pens coupled to the carriage, a scan drive system to drive components of a scanning device associated with the printing device, a drive selector assembly to select between driving the capping system to a printing system drive position or driving the scan drive system depending on a position of a selector swing arm of the drive selector assembly, and a shifter to selectively shift the drive selector assembly between a scanning system drive position of the selector swing arm and a printing system drive position of the selector swing arm.
Recording apparatus
A recording apparatus includes: a center frame that supports a recorder which performs recording on a medium; and at least two side frames positioned with the center frame interposed therebetween. The two side frames include: a first sub-frame to which both of a first feeder and a second feeder that feed a medium are mountable, the second feeder differing from the first feeder in the position from which to feed a medium; and a second sub-frame to which one of the first feeder and the second feeder is mountable. The second sub-frame includes a support portion that supports a power transmission unit which transmits drive power from a motor to the first feeder or the second feeder, the motor being a drive source necessary to feed a medium.
INK-JET PRINTER
There is provided an ink-jet printer including a conveyer, a recording head, a carriage, an ink receiver and a controller. The controller executes: receiving a recording instruction; determining an ink amount to be jetted in a flushing process; moving the carriage in a first orientation up to a returning position corresponding to the ink amount; moving the carriage in a second orientation opposite to the first orientation from the returning position to a sheet facing area; executing a flushing processing; and executing recording. The returning position is located at a first position downstream from the sheet facing area in the first orientation, under a condition that the determined ink amount is less than a threshold value; and the returning position is located at a second position downstream from the first position in the first orientation, under a condition that the determined ink amount is not less than the threshold value.
PRINTER AND PRINTING METHOD
According to an embodiment, there is provided a printer including a plurality of printing modes. A first printing mode is a printing mode for discharging a label by a transfer device, the label being still attached to a backing sheet. A second printing mode is a printing mode for discharging the label by the transfer device while peeling off the label from the backing sheet. The printer controls power supply from a storage battery such that a printing device performs printing at a first printing speed when the printing mode is the first printing mode and such that the printing device performs the printing at a second printing speed when the printing mode is the second printing mode, the second printing speed being slower than the first printing speed.
