A modular inkjet printhead assembly including a plurality of printhead modules mounted on alternating sides of a central rail assembly. The rail assembly includes a beam and a rod attached to a side of the beam. The printhead modules include a jetting module having an array of nozzles, a first alignment tab having a first alignment datum and a second alignment datum, a second alignment tab having a third alignment datum and a fourth alignment datum, a rotational alignment feature including a fifth alignment datum, and a cross-track alignment feature including a sixth alignment datum. Portions of the alignment tabs of the jetting module are adapted to fit within corresponding notches in the beam. Each alignment datum on the printhead modules engage with corresponding alignment features on the rail assembly to position the printhead modules such that the jetting modules are tilted away from the beam.

ADJUSTABLE INKJET PRINTER FOR THE LABELING OF GOODS
20170291437 · 2017-10-12 ·

Inkjet printer for the labeling of goods having a print head having a cylindrically shaped housing. A latching lug, and a circumferentially extending groove are formed on the housing in a rear region thereof, in the vicinity of a rear face of the housing. Further, it has an annular collar having an inner wall adapted to the housing. On the one hand, the housing is capable of being fixed and, on the other hand, it is rotatable and axially movable, relative to the annular collar. The annular collar has a bore hole axially aligned with the groove, and a fixing projection located in the bore hole. Further, it has several latching recesses for the latching lug. When the latching lug is positioned in one of the latching recesses, the bore hole is located radially above the groove.

INK-JET PRINT HEADS PROTECTING SYSTEM IN A DIGITAL PRINTING MACHINE

The present invention relates to an ink-jet print heads protecting system in a digital printing machine, wherein the module comprises a chassis (1), rollers (2), and a plurality of digital printing units (10), each with a bridge (11) with guides (12) and a sliding carriage (13) with ink-jet print heads (14), one part of each guide overlapping the band and another part projecting beyond the band path, the carriage being movable between the printing and maintenance positions; and in that each bridge is attached to the chassis by a position adjustment device (20) and an articulation (25) that are spaced apart or by two position adjustment devices (20) that are spaced apart.

AMBIENT TEMPERATURE BASED FLOW RATES

Ambient temperature based flow rates can in an example include a setting a flow rate of ink to a printhead mounted in a carriage based on an ambient temperature associated with the printhead, measuring a flow rate of ink to the printhead, and causing a decrease in a velocity of the carriage in response to the flow rate of ink satisfying the threshold flow rate.

Methods for printing a curved surface of an object by using an inkjet head

A method for printing at least one section of a flat or preferably curved surface of an object includes using a relative movement between an inkjet head and the object to move the inkjet head along a first path and print a first track in the process and to move the inkjet head along a second path and print a second track in the process. A first track edge of the first track and a second track edge of the second track meet at a point and enclose an angle between about 1° and about 179° at the point. The method permits the curved surface to be printed without perceptible track connections.

A recording-head position adjustment mechanism adjusts a position of a recording head that discharges liquid droplets. The recording-head position adjustment mechanism includes a supporting member and a discharge angle adjuster. The supporting member includes an upper support to support an upper portion of the recording head and a lower support to support a lower portion of the recording head. The discharge angle adjuster swings the lower portion around the upper portion as a fulcrum to adjust a discharge direction of the liquid droplets from the recording head.

Printhead assembly guidance and positioning system

A single pass inkjet printer that utilizes a modular printing system with one or more self-contained printing modules, where each printing module is easy to remove and replace from a large printing machine, thus resulting in an overall system that is easy to service and maintain Each module is a self-contained printer including an ink supply, printhead drive electronics, and printhead assembly in order to provide one color or fluid of inkjet printing capability. Each module includes a precise three-point compliant self-aligning mount system to obtain accurate printhead positioning, and a unique integrated printhead tending system that includes a compact movable vacuum knife for cleaning the printheads, and a printhead capping station for sealing and protecting the printheads from the ambient environment when not in use.
