A carriage is configured to move by receiving driving force from a carriage motor. A recording head is mounted on the carriage. A controller is configured to: control a power supply to supply a first driving current to a drive target, the first driving current being variable; when a second driving current for driving the carriage motor does not exceed a limiting current, control the power supply to supply the second driving current to the carriage motor, the second driving current being variable, the limiting current being obtained by subtracting the first driving current from an allowable current of the power supply; and when the second driving current exceeds the limiting current, control the power supply to supply a limited second driving current to the carriage motor, the limited second driving current being obtained by cutting a part of the second driving current, the part exceeding the limiting current.

When one of directions in which a carriage moves is a first scanning direction, and the other one of the directions is a second scanning direction, a tube extends in the first scanning direction, is bent in the second scanning direction with a curved portion, and is coupled to the carriage. The tube has a first portion, which is an immovable portion that does not move as the carriage reciprocates, and a second portion, which is a movable portion that moves as the carriage reciprocates. The first portion is fixed to a mounting plate, which is an example of a fixing section, the tube and a supporting member are held together by a holding member, and the mounting plate has a stepped portion, which is an example of a contact preventing portion configured to prevent contact with the holding member holding the movable portion of the tube.

Inkjet recording apparatus

An inkjet recording apparatus configured to perform recording operation by ejecting ink at least from a first recording head, includes an ink tank configured to contain the ink to be supplied to the first recording head, a tube configured to connect the first recording head and the ink tank, and a carriage including a first mounting portion on which the first recording head is mounted, a second mounting portion on which a second recording head is detachably mounted, and a contact portion electrically connected to the second recording head, and configured to reciprocate. A protection member protecting the contact portion can be detachably mounted on the second mounting portion.

Liquid discharge apparatus

There is provided a liquid discharge apparatus which includes a tank including a liquid storage chamber, an inlet, a liquid lead-out channel, and an atmosphere communication channel, a conveyance mechanism, a carriage, and a head. A lower end of the inlet is positioned at a lower side of the nozzles, and the liquid storage chamber is arranged at a position shifted from the nozzles, in a first-direction side of the front-rear direction, and shifted from the conveyance route, to a second-direction side of the left-right direction. The liquid storage chamber is connected to the liquid outflow channel at a position on a lower side of a center in a up-down direction of the liquid storage chamber, and in the first direction from a center in the front-rear direction of the liquid storage chamber, and on the second-direction side of a center in the left-right direction of the liquid storage chamber.

A printer includes a first head including a first nozzle array including first nozzles arranged in a first direction and capable of ejecting a first liquid, a second head including a second nozzle array including second nozzles arranged in the first direction and capable of ejecting a second liquid on the first liquid, a first mover to relatively move the first head, the second head, and a medium in the first direction, and a second mover to move the first head and the second head in a second direction intersecting the first direction. An interval in the first direction between a range of use of the first nozzle array and a range of use of the second nozzle array is changed, while lengths of the range of use of the first nozzle array and the range of use of the second nozzle array in the first direction are respectively maintained.

PRINTING SYSTEM COMPRISING AN ADJUSTMENT ACTUATOR FOR THE ADJUSTMENT OF A PLURALITY OF PRINT HEADS

Printing system including at least a first and a second print head in which the printing system is configured in such a way that the first and second print heads can be adjusted actuator-based with respect to a printing medium by positioning and orienting using an adjustment actuator The printing system includes at least one adjustment actuator less than the number of print heads provided in the printing system, and an auxiliary device is provided in the printing system such that with the aid thereof an operative connection of the at least one adjustment actuator with the first print head can be released and/or created, and an operative connection with the second print head can be created and/or released, preferably also actuator-based or in a pneumatic and actuator-based manner, and particularly preferably automatically.

A printing apparatus includes a head to discharge liquid, a carriage to support the head and reciprocate in a forward direction and a backward direction, and a controller. The controller executes a printing process to print one image in a plurality of copies by discharging the liquid from the head while moving the carriage in the forward direction and the backward direction, based on a print job for printing the one image in the plurality of copies, and a first determining process to determine a moving direction of the carriage for second and following copies, based on a moving result of the carriage in printing for the first copy in the printing process.

PRINTING SYSTEM

In certain examples, a printing system comprises: a carriage guide extending in a longitudinal direction; a printer carriage movable, in use, along the guide; and at least one bearing to direct motion of the carriage along the carriage guide. The at least one bearing is movable, relative to the carriage guide and laterally to the longitudinal direction, from a first carriage guide contact position to a second carriage guide contact position.

PRINTING UNIT WITH THREE PRINTHEADS

A printing unit includes: three elongate printheads positioned in a staggered overlapping arrangement for spanning across a media feed path, wherein a first printhead and a second printhead are longitudinally spaced apart and positioned in a row across the media feed path and a third printhead is offset from and overlaps with both the first and second printheads; three wipers for longitudinally wiping respective printheads in a direction perpendicular to a media feed direction, each wiper being parked at one longitudinal end of its respective printhead. One of the wipers, in its parked position, is positioned in a space between the first and second printheads.
