LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS
A liquid ejecting apparatus includes: an apparatus main body; a plurality of liquid ejecting heads that have a nozzle-formed surface; a unit base to which the plurality of liquid ejecting heads are fixed; and a lifting-lowering mechanism that is fixed to the apparatus main body and causes a position of the nozzle-formed surface to be shifted with respect to the apparatus main body. The lifting-lowering mechanisms are disposed in a direction orthogonal to a direction in which the plurality of liquid ejecting heads are aligned, in an in-plane direction of the nozzle-formed surface.
NAIL PRINTING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD
A nail printing apparatus including a print head that prints an image on a nail, a finger rest that is a rest on which a finger is placed and that is movable in a height direction, a sensor that is arranged at a position above the finger rest as well as below the print head in the height direction and that is movable in a movement direction and capable of detecting a nail within a detection range, and a control unit configured to perform control of height adjustment in which the sensor is moved in the movement direction so that a first position of a nail area is included in the detection range of the sensor and then the finger rest is moved upward until the sensor detects the nail.

PRINTING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD
A technique capable of properly detecting the height position of an object to be printed is provided. A printing apparatus includes: a printing unit configured to eject a liquid to an object to be printed in a first direction to perform printing; a placement unit on which the object is placed; a detection unit capable of detecting the position of the object in the first direction in a noncontact manner; and a control unit configured to change relative positions of the placement unit and the detection unit on a plane intersecting the first direction to detect, by the detection unit, the object placed on the placement unit.

PRINTING APPARATUS AND PRINTING METHOD
A printing apparatus includes a transporting device that transports a medium and a printing unit that prints onto the medium. In addition, the printing apparatus includes an image sensor that images the medium and a controller that detects a displacement amount of the medium in an intersecting direction which intersects a surface to be printed of the medium based on a plurality of images obtained by imaging the medium by the sensor at different times and that controls the transporting device and the printing unit according to the displacement amount.
Printer and control method for a printer
A printer includes a printhead, a platen, a carriage, a carriage moving mechanism configured to move the carriage between an opposing position at which the printhead faces the platen and a standby position at which the printhead does not face the platen, a head moving mechanism configured to move the printhead between a first head position and a second head position when the carriage is at the opposing position, and a sensor. A first gap between the printhead and the platen when the printhead is at the first head position is smaller than a second gap between the printhead and the platen when the printhead is at the second head position. The sensor is configured to detect whether the carriage is at the opposing position and the printhead is at the second head position, or not.
CONTOURED SURFACE PRINTING
A fixture for supporting an article (e.g., a guitar such as a Stratocaster® guitar body) and controlling the position of the article relative to a print head to allow a contoured portion of a surface of the article to be printed by the print head. The fixture may include a pivot axis about which the article is pivotal. A cam surface may be engaged by the article and/or a bracket of the fixture to which the article is affixed to prescribe the controlled movement of the article based on relative movement between the article and the print head. In turn, both planar and contoured portions of the guitar surface may be printed during a single print operation.
Device for controlling an inkjet printing machine to provide a variable distance between an inkjet print head and a substrate
A device for controlling the printing operation in an inkjet printing machine includes at least one inkjet print head disposed at an adjustable distance from a substrate to be printed on. A device receives a print job and a bad sheet sensor has a trigger threshold. A machine control unit adjusts the distance between the inkjet print head and the substrate to be printed on as well as the trigger threshold of the bad sheet sensor before or after the printing operation as a function of a received print job.
