METHOD AND ASSEMBLY TO LIFT A PRINTHEAD WITHIN A MEDIA PROCESSING DEVICE
A media processing device is disclosed that includes a platen assembly, a printhead assembly, a drive element, and a processor. The platen assembly includes a platen roller configured to rotate. The printhead assembly, disposed opposite the platen assembly, is configured to move between an engaged position in which the printhead assembly forms a nip with the platen roller and a disengaged position in which the printhead assembly is spaced away from the platen roller. The drive element is configured to rotate the platen roller. The processor is in communication with the drive element, and configured to control the drive element to rotate the platen roller according to a first operating mode or a second operation mode, the printhead assembly moves to the engaged position in the first operating mode and moves to the disengaged position in the second operating mode.

Printer, and method for replacing printing head of printer
An embodiment of the present invention is a printer including: a feed roller configured to feed a print medium; a print head configured to pinch the print medium with the feed roller and to print on the print medium; and a biasing member configured to bias the print head in a first direction toward the feed roller. The print head is movable in the first direction between a first position and a second position. The first position is a position at which the print head can be removed when moved in a second direction. The second position being a position at which the print head cannot be removed when moved in the second direction.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD
A printing apparatus, that thermally transfers color ink and an overcoat to a recording sheet, includes a at least one processor and at least one memory that is in communication with the at least one processor. The at least one memory stores instructions for causing the at least one processor and the at least one memory to perform print processing of transferring the color ink and the overcoat to the recording sheet by a thermal head and an ink ribbon, change a pressing force for pressing the ink ribbon and the recording sheet during the color ink transfer and during the overcoat transfer in the print processing, and control a processing speed during the color ink transfer and during the overcoat transfer in the print processing.
THERMAL PRINTER
A thermal printer includes a thermal head 510 pivotably supported by the printer unit, a platen roller 520 disposed opposite to the thermal head 510 and transporting a recording sheet, a pressing member 610 that is provided on the side opposite to the platen roller 520 with respect to the thermal head 510 and that presses the thermal head 510 toward the platen roller 520, a support member 620 provided on a side opposite than the thermal head 510 with respect to the pressing member 610, and a pressing force adjustment member 630 disposed between the support member 620 and the pressing member 610 to adjust the pressing force of the pressing member 610.

Biasing force adjusting device, transfer device, and image forming apparatus
A biasing force adjusting device includes a roller, a roller holder, a first biasing member, and a second biasing member. The roller faces a mover. The roller holder holds the roller and is displaceable with respect to the mover. The first biasing member applies a first biasing force to the roller holder to press the roller against the mover. The second biasing member applies a second biasing force greater than the first biasing force to the roller holder to press the roller against the mover.

A THERMAL PRINTER AND METHOD
The disclosure relates to a thermal printer for printing on a print media, comprising: a printhead (110, 110, 110), a printhead positioning arrangement (120) for displacing the printhead, a ribbon feeding arrangement comprising a print ribbon unwinder (150) and a ribbon rewinder (151), at least one roller (162). In operation, the printhead positioning arrangement is configured to displace the printhead into at least three positions: a first position applying a first amount of pressure on a print media, a second position applying a second amount of pressure on the print media, and a third position in which the printhead is distanced from the print media and applies no pressure on the print media.
