An image forming apparatus includes a frame, a platen roller rotatably supported by the frame, a thermal head that is provided to face the platen roller, and a supporting unit that supports the thermal head from above, wherein the supporting unit includes an adjustment part that can adjust a height of the supporting unit by an adjuster, and the supporting unit can adjust an angle of the thermal head by adjusting the height of the adjustment part by the adjuster with at least a portion of the supporting unit being deformed, and wherein the supporting unit can adjust the height of the adjustment part by adjusting a protrusion amount of the adjuster with a tip of the adjuster being butted against the frame.

Printhead pressure adjustment for a printing apparatus
Provided herein is a printing apparatus that includes a printhead assembly and a plurality of printhead pressure load modules that are adjustable on a shaft of a printhead pressure load assembly and engaged with a printhead member. The printhead pressure load module has a hollow housing, a plunger member, and a rotary cam. The plunger member and the rotary cam are movably engaged in the hollow housing. The rotary cam includes a plurality of channel members defined at an outer surface. Each channel member has a depth that is different from a depth of an adjacent channel member. A movement of the plunger member inwardly through the hollow housing defines a position of the rotary cam along the longitudinal axis with respect to the hollow housing. Position change of the rotary cam defines a force that acts on a pressure contact member and adjusts a load on the printhead assembly.
PRINTER
A printer includes a print head configured to print on a recording sheet, a platen roller attached to a frame in a rotatable manner, a support having a head spring attached thereto that urges the print head toward the platen roller, and a hold unit attached to the frame in a rotatable manner and having an engaging part that engages with a projection situated at a side end of the support, wherein the head spring is configured to urge the print head toward the platen roller when the projection is engaged with the engaging part, and wherein the hold unit is configured to be rotated to cause the engaging part to disengage from the projection.
Removable printhead
A printhead mounting system includes one or more pins attached to a printhead, and configured to be inserted through one or more slots in a support frame coupled to a printer, and one or more fasteners configured to engage with the pins inserted through the support frame slots. The fasteners can be detachable, operably coupled to the support frame, or coupled to each other. Additionally, the system can have locating pins for aligning the printhead with the support frame. A method for attaching a printhead includes inserting posts located at a top of a printhead through openings in a printhead support frame, and engaging one or more quick-release fasteners with the posts above the support frame.
Removable printhead
A printhead mounting system includes one or more pins attached to a printhead, and configured to be inserted through one or more slots in a support frame coupled to a printer, and one or more fasteners configured to engage with the pins inserted through the support frame slots. The fasteners can be detachable, operably coupled to the support frame, or coupled to each other. Additionally, the system can have locating pins for aligning the printhead with the support frame. THERMAL PRINTER
A thermal printer includes a frame including sidewalls; a platen roller supported by the frame, through bearings, the platen roller being configured to rotate with a rotational shaft; a thermal head disposed opposite the platen roller; a support member for supporting the thermal head, the support member being configured to be pivoted with respect to the frame; and an adjustment mechanism disposed between the rotational shaft of the platen roller and the thermal head, the adjustment mechanism allowing a distance between the rotational shaft of the platen roller and the thermal head to be adjusted, while contacting at least one from among components of the platen roller and components of the thermal head, so that a gap between the thermal head and the platen roller is adjusted.
Printing apparatus
There is provided a printing apparatus, including: a base; a thermal head including heating elements arranged in a first direction; a first engagement member; a second engagement member configured to engage with the first engagement member such that the thermal head pivotally moves, relative to the base, around a first axis extending in a second direction intersecting with the first direction; a head holding member being slidable with respect to the base in a third direction intersecting with the first direction and the second direction and holding the thermal head such that the heating elements face the third direction; a first magnetic member positioned on a first side in the first direction relative to the first engagement member; a second magnetic member positioned on the first side in the first direction relative to the second engagement member; and a head pressing member facing the head holding member from a first side in the third direction.

There is provided a printing apparatus, including: a base; a thermal head including heating elements arranged in a first direction; a first engagement member; a second engagement member configured to engage with the first engagement member such that the thermal head pivotally moves, relative to the base, around a first axis extending in a second direction intersecting with the first direction; a head holding member being slidable with respect to the base in a third direction intersecting with the first direction and the second direction and holding the thermal head such that the heating elements face the third direction; a first magnetic member positioned on a first side in the first direction relative to the first engagement member; a second magnetic member positioned on the first side in the first direction relative to the second engagement member; and a head pressing member facing the head holding member from a first side in the third direction.
Head pressing mechanism and tape printing apparatus
In a case where a first tape cartridge is mounted on a cartridge mounting portion, in which the first tape cartridge that accommodates first tape and a first platen roller having a first roller length and a second tape cartridge that accommodates second tape and a second platen roller having a second roller length larger than the first roller length are mounted, a thermal head that performs printing onto the first tape is pressed against the first platen roller at first head pressing force, and in a case where the second tape cartridge is mounted on the cartridge mounting portion, the thermal head that performs printing onto the second tape is pressed against the second platen roller at second head pressing force larger than the first head pressing force.
