Recording apparatus
A recording apparatus includes a carriage on which the recording head is mounted and in which a first measuring area and a second measuring area are provided, a platen disposed to face the recording head, a reference portion disposed on the platen at a position faceable by the recording head; a distance sensor provided on either of the carriage or the reference portion and configured to measure a distance between a measuring area and the reference portion, and a controller that determines an inclination of the carriage with respect to the platen based on a measurement result of the distance sensor, and controls execution of a predetermined process.
Liquid discharge apparatus
A liquid discharge apparatus includes a liquid discharge head to discharge liquid, a head holder to hold the liquid discharge head, a sub-carriage to hold the head holder, and a carriage to hold the sub-carriage and which is movable in a main scanning direction. The carriage includes a reference extending along the main scanning direction that holds and positions the sub-carriage in the carriage. The head holder includes a rotation reference around which the head holder is rotatable with respect to the sub-carriage, and an angle adjuster to regulate a rotation and adjust an angle of the rotation of the head holder with respect to the sub-carriage.

Elastic bending mechanism for bi-directional adjustment of print head position
Mechanisms for adjusting the position of one or more print heads at an extremely fine resolution (e.g., less than 10 m) are described herein. The adjustment mechanisms include a differential screw and an indexing wheel through which the differential screw extends. One threaded segment of the differential screw is connected to a threaded feature of a flexible body that is coupled to the print head(s), while another threaded segment of the differential screw is connected to a threaded feature of a rigid body that is coupled to a printer assembly. As the indexing wheel and differential screw rotate, the space between the flexible body and the rigid body changes based on the difference between the pitches of the threaded segments. The adjustment mechanisms described herein utilize the accurate, consistent motion of the flexible body upon experiencing pressure to effect predictable changes in the position of the print head(s).

PRINTING APPARATUS
Disclosed is a printing apparatus. In an exemplary embodiment, the printing apparatus includes a nozzle for ejecting ink, a driving device for moving the nozzle, an imaging device for capturing an image displaying an ink printing process, and an automatic positioning controller for automatically setting a position of the nozzle based on the image captured by the imaging device while moving the nozzle by means of the driving device.
Liquid discharge apparatus and adjustment method for rail unit
A liquid discharge apparatus that includes a first movable unit displaceably attached to a fixture portion, a rail unit that includes a planar portion formed along a first direction and is displaceable according to displacement of the first movable unit, and a carriage attached to the rail unit so as to be movable in the first direction and whose posture is changeable according to angle of the planar portion with respect to the fixture portion viewed in the first direction. The first movable unit includes a first adjuster that adjusts position of the rail unit with respect to the fixture portion in a second direction and a second adjuster that adjusts the angle of the planar portion with respect to the fixture portion as viewed in the first direction by pivoting the rail unit around a pivot axis that extends in the first direction.

Inkjet printing apparatus
An inkjet printing apparatus includes a print head configured to perform a print operation, the print head having an ejection opening surface on which a plurality of ejection openings for ejecting ink are arrayed along a width direction, and a moving unit configured to move the print head between a printing position, in which the print operation is performed, and a standby position, in which the print operation is not performed. The moving unit moves the print head between the printing position and the standby position by simultaneously performing rotational movement, in which the print head is rotated around a rotation axis that is parallel to the width direction, and linear movement in the gravitational direction, of the print head.
