PRINTER
A printer comprising a printhead configured to selectively cause a mark to be created on a substrate. The printer comprises in a stepper motor having an output shaft coupled to the printhead, the stepper motor being arranged to vary the position of the printhead relative to a printing surface against which printing is carried out, and to control the pressure exerted by the printhead on the printing surface. The printer further comprises a sensor configured to generate a signal indicative of an angular position of the output shaft of the stepper motor. The printer further comprises a controller arranged to generate control signals for the stepper motor so as to cause a predetermined torque to be generated by the stepper motor; said control signals being at least partially based upon an output of said sensor.

PRINTING SYSTEM, PRINTING APPARATUS, AND PRINTING CONTROL METHOD
A printing apparatus has an array of printing elements, a unit for conveying a print medium in a direction intersecting with the array direction, a unit for setting the conveying speed, a unit for adjusting a print position of the print head in the array direction, a unit for adjusting an inclination of a print position of the print head with respect to the conveying direction and for dividing the array of the printing elements into blocks and shift image data in the conveying direction in each divided block, and a unit for changing the division positions of the blocks to positions shifted by an equal amount in a direction opposite to the adjustment in the array direction. A printing control apparatus acquires a maximum concurrent drive number in the printing elements based on image data. The conveying speed is set based on the maximum concurrent drive number.
INKJET PRINTER WITH WIPER FOR NOZZLE SURFACE
An inkjet printer includes: an inkjet head including nozzles and a nozzle surface tilted in a tilt direction with respect to a horizontal plane; a purging unit configured to discharge ink from the nozzles and attach the discharged ink to the nozzle surface; and a wiper configured to wipe the nozzle surface in a wiping direction orthogonal to the tilt direction. At least a portion of the wiper including an end of the wiper on a lower side in the tilt direction is tilted or curved toward a downstream side in the wiping direction toward the lower side in the tilt direction. The portion of the wiper is configured to wipe the nozzle surface while pushing the ink attached to the nozzle surface from the lower side to an upper side in the tilt direction.
Stitching methods and systems
A method includes providing a printhead for printing an image on a surface from two different printhead positions relative to the surface, the two different printhead positions at first and second orientations, wherein the at least one printhead and the surface move relative to each other along a print path having two potentially overlapping swathes, determining an overlap area on the surface for the two overlapping swathes wherein the overlap area is to be printed on from either of the two different printhead positions, determining for each position in the overlap area at which an inkjet drop may be printed the angle of incidence at the surface of that drop, and selecting a stitch point or region in the overlap area wherein the difference between the angles of incidence at the surface of drops from the two printhead positions is kept within an acceptable limit.

Actuation mechanism for accurately controlling distance in OVJP printing
A device for use in organic vapor jet printing (OVJP) and similar arrangements includes a print head moveable in more than one degree of freedom with sufficient thermal insulation that there is little to no movement in the Z direction. One or more sensors may be used to monitor and adjust the distance between the substrate and the print head.

INK JET DIGITAL PRINTING MACHINE
An ink jet digital printing machine configured to detect an eccentricity profile of the containers to be printed and to move the printing heads with an hourly law that is univocally determined by the eccentricity profile so as to maintain the distance of the printing heads from the containers to be printed constant during the rotation of the containers on themselves.
Print-head module
A print-head module for a single-pass inkjet printer contains a housing component with a transverse bracket which extends in the X-direction and on which a number of print heads are arranged which are adjusted positionally with respect to at least one reference position. A load-bearing frame with a supporting device is provided for supporting the load-bearing frame. The housing component is mounted on the load-bearing frame such that it swings about a pendulum axis. Furthermore, a single-pass inkjet printer has at least one print-head module of this type. The inkjet printer contains a frame construction with a support, on which the at least one print-head module is placed by use of the supporting device.
