IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, a casing, a sheet discharge unit, a sheet supporting portion, an operation unit, a supporting unit, and a regulating portion. The supporting unit supports the operation unit such that, when the display surface is tilted with respect to a horizontal direction, an end on a lower side of the operation unit is positioned below a second virtual straight line. The regulating portion is disposed between the operation unit and the sheet supporting portion in the vertical direction. The regulating portion is disposed such that at least a part of the regulating portion overlaps the operation unit and the supporting surface in a width direction. The regulating portion is disposed to intersect with the second virtual straight line. The regulating portion is configured to regulate an obliquely upward movement of a recording material discharged by the sheet discharge unit.

MACHINE FOR THE INKJET DECORATION OF CERAMIC MANUFACTURED ARTICLES
A machine for inkjet decoration of ceramic manufactured articles, comprising a basic frame; one supporting surface having a surface to be decorated, where the supporting surface is movable along a direction; a plurality of printing heads each provided with a plurality of nozzles substantially aligned with each other along a relevant line of action and adapted to dispense ink along a relevant direction of dispensing, each of the heads defining a respective range of action on the surface to be decorated, wherein the heads comprise a fixed head(s) and a swivel head(s), and comprises a plurality of groups of heads, where each of the groups comprises a plurality of rows of heads arranged parallel to each other along a direction transverse to the direction, the heads of each of the rows being staggered with respect to the heads of the adjacent row belonging to the same group.
PRINTING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRINTING ON A WORKPIECE
A printing device is provided for printing on a workpiece, which preferably comprises at least partially wood, wood fiber containing materials, wood composite materials, veneer, plastic, or a combination thereof. The printing device can include a housing, a holding element arranged on the housing, a print head attached to a first side of the housing, and a first interface. The first interface can communicatively and operatively connect the print head to containers for print media. Further, the printing device can be portable.
Elastic Bending Mechanism for Bi-Directional Adjustment of Print Head Position
Mechanisms for adjusting the position of one or more print heads at an extremely fine resolution (e.g., less than 10 μm) are described herein. The adjustment mechanisms include a differential screw and an indexing wheel through which the differential screw extends. One threaded segment of the differential screw is connected to a threaded feature of a flexible body that is coupled to the print head(s), while another threaded segment of the differential screw is connected to a threaded feature of a rigid body that is coupled to a printer assembly. As the indexing wheel and differential screw rotate, the space between the flexible body and the rigid body changes based on the difference between the pitches of the threaded segments. The adjustment mechanisms described herein utilize the accurate, consistent motion of the flexible body upon experiencing pressure to effect predictable changes in the position of the print head(s).
THERMAL PRINTER AND PORTABLE TERMINAL
A thermal printer includes a platen roller, a thermal head, a head support plate, a frame including a platen roller support portion, a turn support portion configured to support the head support plate, and an urging member configured to urge the head support plate in a direction in which the thermal head approaches the platen roller. The thermal head is fixed to an opposed surface of the head support plate, which is in a first region located on one side with respect to the turn support portion, and is opposed to the platen roller in the first direction. The urging member is interposed between the opposed surface of the head support plate in a second region, which is located on another side with respect to the turn support portion and an urging member support portion of the frame.
Modular printhead assembly with tilted printheads
A modular inkjet printhead assembly including a plurality of printhead modules mounted on alternating sides of a central rail assembly. The rail assembly includes a beam and a rod attached to a side of the beam. The printhead modules include a jetting module having an array of nozzles, a first alignment tab having a first alignment datum and a second alignment datum, a second alignment tab having a third alignment datum and a fourth alignment datum, a rotational alignment feature including a fifth alignment datum, and a cross-track alignment feature including a sixth alignment datum. Portions of the alignment tabs of the jetting module are adapted to fit within corresponding notches in the beam. Each alignment datum on the printhead modules engage with corresponding alignment features on the rail assembly to position the printhead modules such that the jetting modules are tilted away from the beam.
ACTUATION MECHANISM FOR ACCURATELY CONTROLLING DISTANCE IN OVJP PRINTING
A device for use in OVJP and similar arrangements includes a print head movable in more than one degree of freedom with sufficient thermal insulation that there is little to no movement in the Z direction. One or more sensors may be used to monitor and adjust the distance between the substrate and the print head.
PRINT-HEAD MODULE
A print-head module for a single-pass inkjet printer contains a housing component with a transverse bracket which extends in the X-direction and on which a number of print heads are arranged which are adjusted positionally with respect to at least one reference position. A load-bearing frame with a supporting device is provided for supporting the load-bearing frame. The housing component is mounted on the load-bearing frame such that it swings about a pendulum axis. Furthermore, a single-pass inkjet printer has at least one print-head module of this type. The inkjet printer contains a frame construction with a support, on which the at least one print-head module is placed by use of the supporting device.
SUPPORT STRUCTURE ADJUSTMENT
According to one example there is provided a method of adjusting a support structure. The method comprises obtaining a reference orientation of the support structure when the support structure is positioned in a reference position. The height of the support structure is adjusted to a predetermined position and the orientation of the support structure is adjusted such that the orientation of the support structure when in the predetermined position is substantially the same as the reference orientation.
