Provided is a printing apparatus including a support portion configured to support a medium, a printing unit configured to carry out printing onto the medium supported by the support portion, a support portion moving unit configured to move at least a part of the support portion in a facing direction in which the support portion and the printing unit face each other to change a support position of the medium in the facing direction, a detected unit having position information in the facing direction, the detected unit being configured to move in the facing direction together with the support portion, a detector configured to detect the position information, and a control unit configured to detect a position of the support portion in the facing direction, based on the position information detected by the detector.

A liquid jetting apparatus includes a casing, a tank formed with a liquid storage chamber which stores liquid, an inlet which allows the liquid to be poured into the liquid storage chamber, and a liquid outflow channel which allows the liquid to flow out from the liquid storage chamber, a conveying mechanism which conveys a recording medium along a conveying path extending in a front-rear direction, a carriage which moves in a left-right direction, and a head mounted on the carriage and having a nozzle which jets the liquid onto the recording medium conveyed by the conveying mechanism. The tank, the conveying path, and the carriage are arranged inside the casing, the tank is arranged outside the conveying path in the left-right direction, and at least a part of the tank is arranged inside both ends of a movement area of the carriage in the left-right direction.

A printer for printing information on a recording sheet, includes a housing configured to accommodate a recording sheet and a printing portion; a battery to be removably mounted to the housing; and a clip pivotably mounted to the housing. The clip includes a joint portion, which is elastically deformable so that a coupling portion of the housing is pivotably fitted to the joint portion. Each of the joint portion and the coupling portion includes an engagement portion configured to restrain the clip from pivoting at a mounting position at which the clip covers at least a part of the battery. When a predetermined external force is applied to the housing in a pivoting direction of the clip, restraining of the clip by the engagement portions is canceled so that the clip is movable from the mounting position.

An article includes a body member and a detachable member detachably attached to the body member. One of the body member and the detachable member includes a cover portion having an engaging portion on an inner wall face of the cover portion. An embodiment of a printer according to the present invention includes: a container configured to contain a roll body into which a belt-shaped print medium is wound; a frame including a first opening, the frame arranged to be a portion of the container; and a body case provided outside the frame and arranged to be a portion of a bottom surface of the container, the body case including a first protrusion part protruding toward the first opening.

A mobile image forming apparatus includes a body; a recording device supported by the body and configured to form an image on a recording medium, and at least one roller provided to the body and configured to rotate on the recording medium while the body is moved in a scanning direction for image formation. The mobile image forming apparatus further includes at least one pressing member disposed in contact with the at least one roller and configured to press the at least one roller in a roller axial direction.

A printing apparatus having a pillar shape includes a printing mechanism, a motor, and a gear box. The printing mechanism includes a print head configured to perform printing on a recording sheet and a platen roller configured to convey the recording sheet. The gear box is configured to transmit the rotation of the motor to the platen roller. The printing mechanism, the gear box, and the motor are arranged in order from a first side of the printing apparatus toward a second side of the printing apparatus in a longitudinal direction of the printing apparatus.

A recording apparatus includes: a feeding unit that feeds a medium placed on a medium placing unit located on a back side (Y) of the apparatus; a transport unit that transports the medium fed from the feeding unit; a recording unit that performs recording on the medium transported from the transport unit; a reverse path that transports the medium in a reverse direction after recording is performed by the recording unit to turn over the medium; and a feed driving motor that drives the feeding unit, wherein the feed driving motor is disposed above the reverse path.

A portable printer includes a casing configured to receive a recording medium; a head configured to perform printing on the recording medium; a platen roller, which is arranged so as to be opposed to the head, and is configured to convey the recording medium while sandwiching the recording medium together with the head; a button, which is provided on the casing, and is configured to perform operation of separating the head and the platen roller from each other; and a stepped portion, which is formed on the casing along a peripheral edge of the button, and protrudes so that an inner side of the casing is higher than an outer side of the casing.
