PRINTING DEVICE, PRINTING METHOD, AND NONVOLATILE COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM
A printing device, includes a printer that prints onto a printing medium that is conveyed along a reference direction by a conveyer; and a controller that controls the printer to print a print pattern onto the printing medium along the reference direction. The controller controls to forbid the printer to execute printing when a temperature of the printer is projected to become equal to or higher than a set temperature if the printer prints onto the printing medium using a printing length of the print pattern along the reference direction, the printing length being a length of at least a portion of the print pattern along the reference direction.
System and method for active printing consistency control and damage protection
Disclosed herein is a mobile printer freefall detection and protection mechanism. Printers may be subject to vibration or free fall during printing. This is more likely to happen for a mobile printer. In such cases, the printing performance will be adversely affected a lot or a thermal printhead (TPH) in the printer could be damaged. This disclosure describes a system and method of solving this problem by measuring the G-forces at using at least one sensor to determine if it is safe to start operation again.

Method for stopping a print system
A method and print system for stopping the print system are disclosed. The print system includes a control unit for controlling the printing of sheets, a print engine for printing recording material on the sheets, an input tray for holding sheets to be printed upon, and a finishing unit. The method includes scheduling printing and finishing of a plurality of sheets, including sending a sheet request from the control unit to the finishing unit, and upon receiving the sheet request, the finishing unit provides an earliest expected arrival time of a sheet at the finishing unit to the control unit. When this time is too huge, operator intervention is required and the finishing unit reports an error to the control unit, after a previous sheet has been deposited in the finishing unit, and the control units stops the print engine before the sheet leaves the input tray.

LABEL PRINTER
A label printer includes a print head, a roller, a display, and a processor. The roller is configured to convey a tape. The processor is configured to execute continuous printing processing of driving the print head and the roller based on print data to perform continuous printing on the tape, re-start number reception processing of, when re-starting the continuous printing subsequent to interruption of the continuous printing processing, displaying, on the display, a value corresponding to a number of printed copies already printed at the time of interruption, as an initial value of a re-start number, and receiving input of the re-start number, and print re-start processing of driving the print head and the roller based on the print data to re-start the continuous printing from the re-start number.

Mitigating printer damage risks
Devices and methods are provided for mitigating printer damage risks. In examples a presence of a set of damage risk indicator signals at a printer is identified. A time period during which the damage risk indicator signals of the set are concurrently present is tracked, and a power supply is cut off if the time period exceeds a predetermined threshold time.
