Systems and methods for closed loop fluid velocity control for jetting
Systems and methods for closed loop fluid velocity control for jetting are disclosed. A method includes dispensing a first volume of viscous fluid from a nozzle of a dispensing device according to a first value of an operating parameter that affects the exit velocity of the first volume. A characteristic of the first volume is measured using a sensor. The characteristic of the first volume is then compared to a range of values to determine whether the characteristic of the first volume is outside of the range. The value of the operating parameter is adjusted to a second value in response to determining that the characteristic of the first volume is outside the range. A second volume of viscous fluid is dispensed according to the second value of the operating parameter. The exit velocity of the second volume is different than the first volume.
Printing apparatus and correction method therefor
A printing apparatus includes a printhead having a plurality of chips, each including a plurality of nozzle arrays which are arranged in a predetermined nozzle array direction and each of which is formed from a plurality of nozzles and energy generation elements provided in correspondence with the nozzles of each nozzle array and each configured to generate energy used for discharging ink. The apparatus relatively moves the printhead and a print medium in a direction intersecting the nozzle array direction, reads a predetermined test pattern printed on the print medium by driving the printhead, analyzes the read test pattern, calculates a slant of the printhead with respect to a reference based on a result of the analysis, and corrects the calculated slant of the printhead by moving the printhead.

Recording apparatus
A battery mount portion includes a recessed portion into which a portion of a battery enters, a coupling terminal provided inside the recessed portion and configured to be electrically coupled to the battery, and a covering portion that covers the coupling terminal and that constitutes a portion of the housing. In a state in which the battery is unmounted, a cover that covers an area in the battery mount portion other than the covering portion is detachably attachable, and a portion where the cover and the housing overlap each other in a depth direction of the recessed portion is located outside a path of a liquid heading towards the coupling terminal after entering the recessed portion through a portion where the cover and the covering portion oppose each other.

Image forming device and image formation method
An ink jet printer includes a transporting section configured to transport continuous paper in a transport direction, an ink jet head forming a nozzle array having a plurality of nozzles aligned in the transport direction, a cutting section configured to cut the continuous paper in an intersecting direction, and a controller configured to control the transporting section, the ink jet head, and the cutting section. The controller causes the ink jet head to form, on the continuous paper, a first image and a second image that are adjacent to one another in the transport direction, causes a nozzle among the nozzles aligned in the nozzle array to form a test pattern in a region between the first image and the second image, and causes the cutting section to cut the continuous paper to separate, from the continuous paper, the inter-image region in which the test pattern was formed.
Printing apparatus and printing method
A printing apparatus includes a pattern extracting unit for, based on a comparison between first image data representing a pattern and second image data generated by imaging a fabric transported, extracting a pattern region from the second image data, a printing image generation unit for arranging third image data representing an image to be printed overlaid on the pattern in accordance with a positional relationship between the pattern regions to generate printing image data, and a printing control unit for causing a printing unit to print the printing image data on the fabric transported.
