There is provided a printing apparatus of the present invention including: a printing portion which performs printing by a line type printing head; a transport portion which transports a printing medium along a transport path that faces the printing head; a region detection portion which analyzes printing data and detects a non-printing region which is a region that does not become a target of a printing operation; and a transport control portion which controls a transport speed when the non-printing region passes through the printing head to be higher than a transport speed when the other printing region passes through the printing head, in which the transport control portion performs an acceleration control at least at a part while the non-printing region passes through the printing head and performs a constant speed control while the other printing region passes through the printing head.

A stepping motor drive device which drives a stepping motor comprises a generation module configured to generate a current value waveform for rotating the stepping motor at a unit of a predetermined step angle; a drive module configured to excite the stepping motor using the current value waveform to rotate the stepping motor; and a control module configured to decrease a current value at a balance angle at which the stepping motor is stabilized at the time of non-excitation in the current value waveform of one rotation generated by the generation module.

A liquid ejection head includes: head units arranged in a first direction; first individual heat dissipators each corresponding to one of the head units and disposed on a first side of the head unit in a second direction; and a first common heat dissipator disposed on the first side of the head units in the second direction. The first common heat dissipator extends in the first direction and shared among the head units. Each head unit includes: a unit body including an actuator; and a first driver integrated circuit disposed on the first side of the unit body in the second direction. Each of the first individual heat dissipators is disposed between the first driver integrated circuit and the first common heat dissipator of the head unit so as to be in thermal contact with the first driver integrated circuit and the first common heat dissipator.

An image processing apparatus operable to generate data for printing an image onto a printing medium using a plurality of color materials. The apparatus generates a plurality of color image data corresponding to the plurality of color materials based on image data; generates multinary color data corresponding to a combination of the plurality of color materials based on the plurality of color image data; and generates quantized data corresponding to each of the plurality of color materials based on the multinary color data and a threshold matrix. The apparatus generates the quantized data such that a color difference between a generated color in a case where a shift in a relative printing position does not occur and a generated color in a case where a shift in a relative printing position occurs is small.

An inkjet printing apparatus includes: a print bar unit including an inkjet head configured to eject ink to a web being conveyed; and a guide configured to guide movement of the print bar unit in a print bar movement direction intersecting a conveyance direction of the web between a first position, a second position, and a third position. The first position is a position where the print bar unit performs printing on the web. The second position and third position are located on one and the other sides of the first position in the print bar movement direction.
Replication Alignment of Components for Use in Inkjet Printing Applications
Techniques for more accurately and efficiently replicating the alignment of one or more printer components with respect to another printer component are described herein. Replication may be achieved by using a fixture and a connection media to create a near exact replica of features of the fixture, or to temporarily hold multiple printer components in position while a joining layer of the connection media hardens. More specifically, a connection media, such as epoxy, can be used to fill an intentionally-established gap between connecting bodies or components that are held in a predetermined position by the replication fixture. The replication fixture represents a mechanical mounting interface that influences the position of a print head (or an array of print heads) within a printer housing or printing mechanism. Joining printer components in such a manner enables a stable mechanical coupling to be formed that does not require post operations.

A liquid ejection head includes a print element substrate including multiple ejection openings, pressure chambers, a common flow path, and pumps, the pumps being configured to circulate liquid between the common flow path and the pressure chamber; and a flow path member laminated to the print element substrate. The flow path member includes a supply flow path and a collection flow path, the supply flow path being configured to supply liquid to the print element substrate, and the collection flow path being configured to collect liquid that is not ejected. The supply flow path and the collection flow path have liquid connection with the same common flow path. A circulating pump generates a flow of liquid flowing in an order of the supply flow path, the common flow path, and the collection flow path, the circulating pump being provided at a position different from the print element substrate.
