Image forming apparatus
A first light emitter emits light toward a sheet. A first light receiver receives first reflected light from the sheet. A second light emitter is arranged downstream of the first light emitter in a conveyance direction of the sheet and emits light toward the sheet. A second light receiver receives second reflected light from the sheet. A measuring section measures first and second received light quantities of the first reflected light and the second reflected light. A moisture content calculator calculates a change in a moisture content of the ink in the sheet based on a difference between first and second moisture contents. The first moisture content is based on the first received light quantity and the second moisture content is based on the second received light quantity. A curling amount calculator calculates a curling amount of the sheet based on the change in the moisture content.
CONTROLLER AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A PRINTING DEVICE GIVEN THE PRESENCE OF A RECORDING MEDIUM ELEVATION
A controller may detect an elevation of a recording medium that is to be printed to, the elevation may result in the printing element of a printing device being negatively affected. The controller may automatically produce a time-limited printing pause of the printing element in which the printing gap between the printing element and the recording medium is temporarily enlarged in order to direct the detected elevation past the printing element. A negative effect on the printing device given the presence of a damaged recording medium may thus be efficiently and reliably avoided or reduced.
PRINTER, CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM STORING COMPUTER-READABLE INSTRUCTIONS
A processor of a printer conveys a platen relative to a head in a conveyance direction, toward a printing position. The printing position is a position at which a nozzle surface of the head faces the platen in a discharge direction. The printer is provided with a first sensor. The first sensor detects a print medium positioned at a first detection position. The first detection position is a position separated from the nozzle surface in the discharge direction. When the print medium is detected by the first sensor after a start of conveyance of the platen, the processor moves the platen relative to the nozzle surface and separates the platen from the nozzle surface in the discharge direction. After that, the processor conveys the platen relative to the head in the conveyance direction, toward the printing position.
DETECTING ARTEFACTS ON PRINTABLE SUBSTRATES
An apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus is to detect an artefact on a printable surface. The apparatus comprises a detection element to engage the printable surface as the printable surface moves relative to the detection element, and to move away from the printable surface when an artefact passes between the detection element and the printable surface. The apparatus also comprises an actuator to be actuated in response to the detection element moving beyond a defined distance from the printable surface. A method and a print apparatus are also disclosed.
CURL COMPENSATION THROUGH SELECTIVE INK DEPLETION
Examples of curl compensation through selective ink depletion are described. In an example, whether printing in a region of a page is likely to produce curling of the page may be determined based on a page location and a print density of the region. The region of the page may be printed with a depleted amount of an ink in response to determining that printing the region at the page location with the print density is likely to produce curling of the page.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRINTING AND INSPECTING TABLET
The present disclosure relates to a device for simultaneously performing printing of tablets and inspection on exteriors of the tablets, and provides a device for printing a tablet and inspecting an exterior of the tablet, comprising a transfer unit arranging and transferring tablets supplied from a tablet supplier in a line; a pre-printing image-capturing unit located on a transfer path on which the tablets are transferred to discriminate positions and orientations of the tablets, and disposed to capture images of exteriors of the tablets being transferred; a tablet printing unit located next to the pre-printing image-capturing unit on the transfer path on which the tablets are transferred, and printing the tablets being transferred, in consideration of discriminated results acquired from the images captured by the pre-printing image-capturing unit; and a post-printing image-capturing unit located next to the tablet printing unit on the transfer path on which the tablets are transferred, and capturing images of exteriors of the printed tablets being transferred, to inspect the images or printed results of the printed tablets. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a plurality of functions may be performed with a single device, to maximize work efficiency in time and space, and reduce costs.
RECORDING APPARATUS
A recording apparatus includes a control unit that acquires information regarding shapes and sizes of a recording material and a transport material to which the recording material is to be bonded. The control unit is configured to operate in a first recording mode in which a positioning pattern is recorded on the transport material, the positioning pattern being used to position the recording material on the transport material, and also configured to operate in a second recording mode in which the data is recorded on the recording material positioned on the transport material during transport of the transport material.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND PRINTING METHOD
A printing apparatus includes a pattern correction unit configured to change a mutual positional relationship among a plurality of divided pieces of first image data obtained by dividing first image data representing a first pattern formed in a fabric to generate corrected first image data having a center made up of four corners of the first image data, a pattern extracting unit configured to compare the corrected first image data with second image data generated by imaging the fabric to extract a pattern region corresponding to a second pattern represented by the corrected first image data from the second image data, a printing image generation unit configured to arrange third image data representing an image to be printed overlaid on the first pattern so as to match a region having centers of the pattern regions as four corners to generate printing image data, and a printing control unit.
Printing device and nail posture confirmation method
Disclosed is a printing device including: a finger stage on which a finger corresponding to a nail is placed, the nail being a printing target; a carriage which has at least one reflector; and a camera which obtains at least an image of the nail of the finger placed on the finger stage from an upper direction and an image of the nail of the finger reflected in the reflector.
METHOD OF HANDLING A SHEET DEFECT ERROR IN A DUPLEX PRINT PROCESS
A method of handling a sheet defect error in a duplex print process, wherein media sheets are successively supplied along a feed path and are moved past a print engine where a first image is printed on a first side of each sheet in a first print pass, the sheets are then returned, via a duplex loop that contains a sheet flipping mechanism, to the feed path upstream of the print engine so that a second image can be printed on a second side of each sheet in a second print pass, the finished sheets being then discharged in a predetermined page sequence, and wherein, when a sheet defect is found a first print pass of a sheet, the defective sheet is diverted into an eject path downstream of the print engine, and a print pass for an immediate successor of the defective sheet is skipped. The subsequent semi-finished sheets are recirculated in the duplex loop while the supply of fresh sheets into the feed path is interrupted, and duplex printing is resumed during or after recirculating the subsequent semi-finished sheets.
