Energy curable compositions comprising polyols
Energy curable compositions including polyols, and any blend of ethylenically unsaturated monomers and oligomers. The polyols of the invention are essentially free of any ethylenically unsaturated groups. It is preferred that the polyol substances according to the invention have greater than one hydroxy group and preferably have boiling points in excess of 170° C. The compositions of the invention are particularly useful for the printing or coating of food packaging and may be applied via any printing or coating method, although inkjet printing is a preferred method.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROCESSING A RASTER IMAGE FILE
A method for processing a raster image file, said method comprising the steps: receiving of a raster image file comprising image data for a plurality of pixels, analyzing the image data of the raster image file, determining control data, and optionally at least one new raster image file, based on the analyzed image data, said control data being data for controlling settings of an imaging device so as to change the physical properties of generated imaged features corresponding with one or more of the plurality of pixels; outputting the raster image file and/or the new raster image file, with the control data to an imaging device for imaging a relief precursor.
METHODS OF MANUFACTURING ARTICLES UTILIZING FOAM PARTICLES
Methods for manufacturing articles, including articles of footwear, apparel, and sporting equipment are provided. The methods comprise decorating a plurality of foam particles. The decorating can comprise applying a coating on the foam particles, or embossing or debossing the foam particles, or both. The decorating can comprise applying a coating on the foam particles by printing, painting, dyeing, applying a film, or any combination thereof. The plurality of foam particles are affixed utilizing aspects of additive manufacturing methods. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present disclosure.
Decorative material having excellent printing properties and method of manufacturing the same
The present invention relates to a decorative material having excellent printability, and the decorative material according to the present invention has an ink-receiving layer having a radially fine sloping structure having a dendritic shape, whereby the absorbing and/or fixing property, i.e., printability, of the ink printed on the ink-receiving layer is improved, and clarity is excellent, so that aesthetic effects are excellent. In addition, since the ink-receiving layer is manufactured through UV curing, it can be directly coated on a substrate layer, and can include various kinds of substrate layers; and since it is manufactured using a solvent-free type resin composition without using an organic solvent, and has an excellent absorbing and/or fixing property with respect to a water soluble ink, it has environmental friendly advantages.
System and process for persistent marking of flexo plates and plates marked therewith
Systems and processes for making a flexo plate, and plates made thereby. Non-printing indicia defined by areas of presence and absence of polymer in the plate floor created using microdots imaged during a LAMS layer imaging step are readable downstream of the washing or other non-cured-polymer-removal step but not to print in the printing step. The non-printing indicia may define a repeating pattern of alphanumeric characters, non-text graphics, or a combination thereof. A difference in growth of plate structures corresponding to different types of microdots may be used for characterizing processing conditions.

FAN COVER HAVING A NON-STICK AND/OR NON-WETTING COATING, COOKING APPLIANCE COMPRISING SUCH A FAN COVER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A FAN COVER
The present invention relates to fan cover (6), in particular a fan cover (6) for a cooking appliance (1), obtainable by a process characterised by the following steps, a) providing a fan cover (6) having an inner surface (7a), an outer surface (7b) and at least one opening (8) allowing a fluid to flow through, b) pretreating of at least the inner surface (7a) of the fan cover (6) for providing a surface having a roughness being suitable for applying a non-stick and/or non-wetting coating (12) by mechanical treatment, physical treatment or chemical treatment, in particular by sandblasting and/or laser treatment and/or an enamelling process to form a ground layer (13), c) applying the non-stick and/or non-wetting coating (12) to the inner surface (7a) of the fan cover (6) or the surface (14a) of the ground layer (13), wherein the non-stick and/or non-wetting coating (12) comprises at least one layer (17) that is obtained by a sol-gel process from a first composition comprising a silica sol and a silane. The invention further relates to a cooking appliance (1), in particular a domestic oven comprising such a fan cover (6) and a method for manufacturing such a fan cover (6).
Digital halftoning with dots representing a spiral
A halftone raster image, suitable for rendering a continuous-tone image, which comprises a plurality of dots, arranged according a screen ruling and screen angle. Said dots comprise (i) image pixels arranged as a first arc or as a plurality of arcs which together represent a first spiral, and (ii) non-image pixels arranged as a second arc or as a plurality of arcs which together represent a second spiral. Small displacements of the feed point of said dots away from the theoretical centre of a halftone dot, defined by said screen ruling and screen angle, enable a higher image quality and less patterns in said halftone raster image.
FLEXOGRAPHIC PRINTING MASK WITH LASER THERMAL IMAGING FILM
A mask element for flexographic printing is provided. The mask element can be used for preparing a mask that has a mask image. The mask element can include: a transparent polymeric carrier sheet; a barrier layer on the transparent polymeric carrier sheet, wherein the barrier layer comprises non-crosslinked nitrocellulose; and an imaging layer on the barrier layer, wherein the imaging layer includes a non-silver halide thermally-ablatable material comprising non-crosslinked nitrocellulose, carbon black, and an infrared (IR) dye. In some aspects, the mask element further includes a transparent overcoat layer on the imaging layer. The mask can include: imaged regions in the imaging layer, wherein the imaged regions have optical apertures that are substantially devoid of the carbon black and non-crosslinked nitrocellulose thereof; and non-imaged regions in the imaging layer, wherein the non-imaged regions have the non-crosslinked nitrocellulose, carbon black, and infrared dye.
