SECURITY INK BASED SECURITY FEATURE
A security article may include a substrate. The security article may include a layer of security ink. The layer of security ink may include a set of color-shifting interference particles. The security article may include a layer of magnetic color-shifting ink. The layer of magnetic color-shifting ink may include a set of magnetically aligned magnetic particles. A color-shifting property of the layer of security ink and a color-shifting property of the layer of magnetic color-shifting ink may have a threshold level of similarity to create a color matching effect.
Polymer laminate for a security and/or valuable document and method for the production thereof
In order to create novel security features in secure and/or valuable documents, a polymer layer composite, which has at least two polymer layers that are bonded to each other in a material fit is provided. At least one surface is printed with an absorbing printed layer within a visible region in and/or on the composite located on a polymer layer of the composite. The absorbing printed layer forms at least one printed region, and all printed regions of the printed surface of the polymer layer have a total surface area of at least 50% and not more than 95%.
Method for the production of a multi-layer data medium with security inscriptions
Disclosed is a method for the production of a multi-layer data medium by the hot rolling under pressure of a plurality of superimposed layers (12) having security inscriptions. Marking rolling is carried out on at least one layer to be marked (12a) covered with a marking film (20, 21) bearing inscriptions (22) in vitrophany applied in contact with the layer to be marked, then the marking film is separated from the layer to be marked, the latter having the security inscriptions.
SECURITY SYMBOLS PRINTED ON A SUBSTRATE
A substrate is printed with front side and back side markings. The front side when viewed with reflected light includes: a first marking printed with a first gradient of two colors; a second marking printed with a second gradient of two colors; a first symbol printed with a third gradient of two colors; a second symbol printed with a fourth gradient of two colors; a third symbol printed with a fifth gradient of two colors; and a fourth symbol printed with a sixth gradient of two colors. The back side when viewed with reflected light includes: a third marking printed with the fourth gradient; a fourth marking printed with the third gradient; a fifth symbol printed with the second gradient; a sixth symbol printed with the first gradient; a seventh symbol printed with the sixth gradient; and an eighth symbol printed with the fifth gradient.
PRINTING DIFFRACTION GRATINGS ON PAPER AND BOARD
Disclosed herein is a method for forming a surface relief microstructure, including the steps of A) applying a curable composition to at least a portion of the frontside of the paper substrate, B) contacting at least a portion of the curable composition with surface relief microstructure, C) curing the composition by using at least one UV lamp which is arranged on the backside of the paper substrate, and D) depositing a metallic layer, and optionally a layer of a transparent high refractive index material, on at least a portion of the cured composition, wherein the UV lamp has an emission peak in a UV-A range of 320 nm to 400 nm and additionally in a near VIS range of 400 nm to 450 nm, the curable composition comprises a photoinitiator which absorbs in the UV-A range and also in the near VIS range.
Method for manufacturing a multilayer data medium with security marking which can be marked by laser
Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a multi-layer data medium by hot rolling under pressure, able to be marked under the effect of laser radiation applied to at least one outer surface (11) of this medium, in which at least one marking (13) with optically variable effect is disposed with respect to a laser marking sub-layer so that the outer surface (11) has a portion with optically variable effect optically superimposed on at least one part of the laser marking sub-layer and a portion (16) without marking with optically variable effect optically superimposed on at least one part of the laser marking sub-layer. These portions are produced with contents of at least one marking agent which is sensitive to the laser radiation which are different.

SUBSTRATE OF OFFSET PRINTING UTILIZING IMAGE MOVEMENT
A substrate is printed with front side and back side markings in a first color ink. The front side when viewed with reflected light includes a first marking printed in a first saturation and a first symbol printed in the first saturation. The back side when viewed with reflected light includes: a second marking printed in a second saturation; a second symbol printed in the second saturation; a third marking printed in the first saturation; and a third symbol printed in the first saturation. The first marking, the second marking, and the third marking are printed to provide an interlocking pattern of low saturation color and high saturation color when viewed with transmitted light. The second symbol is visible, and the first symbol and the third symbol are visible and indistinguishable, when viewed with transmitted light.
Counterfeit detection using machine readable indicia
This disclosure relates to counterfeit detection and deterrence using advanced signal processing technology including steganographic embedding and digital watermarking. Digital watermark can be used on consumer products, labels, logos, hang tags, stickers and other objects to provide counterfeit detection mechanisms.
Apparatuses and methods for optically variable printing
A method is provided for printing to a target. The method includes printing a first image to the target. The first image is printed with a metallic material. The method also includes printing a second image to the target over the first image. The second image is printed with a colored semi-transparent material.
