Three-Dimensional Printing on Glass Containers

This disclosure describes substrate(s) formed with a three-dimensional (3D) feature thereon, and method(s) of printing the same. One method includes identifying a plurality of locations on a substrate surface where the three-dimensional feature will be formed, determining a height value of the three-dimensional feature at each location, assigning a grayscale value to each location based on the height value, and applying ink to the substrate surface at each location according to the assigned grayscale value.

Tablet printing apparatus and tablet printing method

According to one embodiment, a tablet printing apparatus includes a conveyor, an inkjet print head, and a controller. The conveyor is configured to convey a tablet having an outer shape that does not determine the printing direction of a print pattern to be printed thereon. The print head includes a plurality of nozzles each configured to eject a liquid to print the print pattern on the tablet being conveyed. The controller is configured to control the print head to perform printing on the tablet being conveyed such that the printing direction of the print pattern is changed at predetermined intervals at least between a first direction which is parallel to or crosses the conveying direction of the tablet, and a second direction which crosses the conveying direction, and in which more nozzles are used for printing than in the first direction.

Tablet printing apparatus and tablet printing method

According to one embodiment, a tablet printing apparatus includes a conveyor configured to convey tablets sequentially supplied while sucking and holding the tablets; a print head arranged to face the conveyor to perform printing on each of the tablets being conveyed; a detector arranged upstream of the print head to detect the posture of each of the tablets; and a print condition tester arranged downstream of the print head to check print condition on each of the tablets. Suction force applied to the tablets is reduced at least in an area from a detection position to a print condition check position than in other area.

BICYCLE RIM PRINTING APPARATUS AND PRINTING METHOD OF PRINTING NON-CONTACT PRINTED DEPOSIT ON ANNULAR RIM BODY

A method for operating a device for printing hollow cylinder is provided. The device comprises a rotating segmented wheel with a plurality of printing cylinders arranged successively along the periphery of the device. A plurality of plate cylinders are provided in association with the segmented wheel. According to a printing process to be performed, a selected quantity of plate cylinders is thrown onto the segment wheel or is thrown off the segment wheel. In a first printing process, a first partial quantity of thrown-on plate cylinders transfers printing ink to a plurality of the printing blankets arranged on the segment wheel. At the end of the printing process, at least some of the plate cylinders, that were thrown on the segment wheel in the first printing process, are thrown off the rotating segment wheel. During constant uninterrupted rotation of the segment wheel, for the implementation of a second printing process, a second partial quantity of plate cylinders is thrown onto the segment wheel and respectively transfer printing ink to a plurality of the printing blankets arranged on the segment wheel. The respective printing forme of at least one plate cylinder involved in the first printing process, and uninvolved in the ongoing second printing process, is changed during the ongoing printing process.

LIGHT VEIL

A method of making a fascia for an automobile includes providing an article, the article being one of translucent or transparent and applying a deposited pattern onto at least a first portion of a first side of the article. The method further includes forming the article into a shape, the shape being configured to be consonant with a vehicle exterior configuration. A fascia system includes a transparent member mounted on a vehicle, the member having printed matter on one side, and the member being included into a vehicle exterior design. Additionally, the member is oriented in front of an illumination device and is illuminated by the device.

Three-Dimensional Printing of a Porous Matrix on a Container
20200283332 · 2020-09-10 ·

This disclosure describes container(s) having an ultraviolet (UV)-cured matrix and methods to create the same. For example, a glass container according to this disclosure has a bottom and a body extending in a direction away from the bottom along a longitudinal axis. The body has a surface having an UV-cured matrix including UV-curable varnish drops arranged in a plurality of layers and having voids existing therebetween to form a porous matrix structure. One method to form the glass container is to apply a layer of UV-curable varnish to an outer surface of the glass container as a plurality of varnish drops, so as to establish a plurality of voids between the varnish drops, cure the layer of UV-curable varnish, apply one or more additional layers of UV-curable varnish, and cure the additional layer(s) of UV-curable varnish, wherein all of the varnish drops and the voids form the UV-cured matrix.

A predetermined area of a print surface is captured by a camera as a plurality of subdivided images to include an end edge portion of a previously printed image on a coating-target object, the end edge portion serving as a connection portion with an image to be drawn to be printed contiguous to the printed image, a composite print surface, which is a plane projection of the print-target surface which is non-plane, is created on the basis of the captured subdivided images, an edited image to be drawn is created by superimposing the image to be drawn on the composite print surface, and the image to be drawn is adjacently printed contiguous to the printed image on the basis of the edited image to be drawn.

Methods of printing on non-permeable surfaces

A method for forming an image on a non-permeable surface includes depositing a first layer of a solvent based composition on a non-permeable surface; partially curing the first layer; and printing a second layer of a solvent based composition on top of the first layer. The second layer can be a similar solvent based composition to the first layer, with the addition of one or more pigments.
