Tacky microporous transfer material
The invention relates to a transfer material for the dye sublimation transfer method (sublimation paper) for printing an inkjet print image, comprising a substrate and an ink receiving layer, which layer contains a pigment and a binding agent, on the front face of the transfer material, the ink receiving layer being porous and thermoplastic particles being arranged on the ink receiving layer. The porous ink receiving layer, together with the thermoplastic particles arranged thereon, have an air permeance according to Bendtsen of greater than 100 ml/min and the thermoplastic particles have a diameter of 0.3 m to 5 m and a melting point of 60 C. to 170 C.

Also disclosed, a printing system comprising a an ITM and treatment station for forming a thin layer of liquid treatment formulation on the ITM surface.
INKJET INKS
The present disclosure is drawn inkjet inks, which can include an aqueous ink vehicle and a pigment particle having a block copolymer attached to a surface of the pigment particle. The block copolymer can be linked to the surface through a nitrogen atom-containing coupling group bonded to the surface through the nitrogen atom. The block copolymer can include a steric stabilizing block formed by polymerizing a monomer having a sterically bulky group, and an ionic stabilizing block formed by polymerizing a monomer having an acidic group or a basic group.

There is provided a transfer type ink jet recording apparatus including: an image forming section forming an image by applying, onto a transfer body, a reaction liquid for increasing a viscosity of ink and ink containing an aqueous liquid medium and a coloring material; a liquid absorbing section having a porous body that absorbs at least a part of a liquid component from the formed image; a heating section heating the image treated by the porous body; a transfer section that transfers the heated image onto a recording medium; and a deterioration prevention treatment section including a deterioration preventing agent applying device that applies, onto the porous body provided in the liquid absorbing section, a deterioration preventing agent that prevents deterioration of the transfer body.

Image forming method and image forming apparatus
An image forming method, includes: forming a precoat layer by applying a precoat agent onto a front surface of an intermediate transfer body; forming an ink layer by applying an ink onto a front surface of the formed precoat layer, according to an ink jet method; and transferring the formed precoat layer and ink layer to a recording medium, wherein a contact angle of the precoat agent with respect to the front surface of the intermediate transfer body is less than a contact angle of the ink with respect to the front surface of the intermediate transfer body, and a viscosity of the precoat agent is lower than a viscosity of the ink.

Transfer member for printing systems
There is disclosed a layered article that can be used in indirect printing, in analog or digital processes. The layered article, when configured as a transfer member, may serve to receive an ink in any form, allow the ink to be treated so as to form an ink image, and permit the application of the ink image on a substrate. The transfer member comprises a support layer and an imaging layer, which may be formed of a silicon matrix including dispersed carbon black particles. Methods for preparing the same are also disclosed.
