IMPROVED METHOD FOR THE PARTIAL COLOURING OF PLASTIC PARTS
The present invention relates to an improved method for the partial colouring, in particular for the coloured laser engraving, of plastic parts, in particular thermoplastic plastic parts, more particularly thermoplastic plastic parts, comprising a layer structure, and to the resulting partially coloured, preferably coloured and laser engraved, plastic parts, in particular thermoplastic plastic parts.
Antimony free composition for laser marking thermoplastic compounds
It has been found, that when co-absorbing substances are added to intrinsic laser-absorbing bismuthoxide, the marking performance with a Nd.YAG-laser is improved or at least kept at the same level by reducing the costs. It is suspected, that the co-absorbing additive is not simply adding a contrast to the polymer by carbonizing the surrounding polymer but helping the bismuthoxide to couple the laser radiation and to ease the color change of this additive. This so found effect helps to cheapen the replacement of antimony trioxide and therewith have a safer and more sustainable solution for the current and future technology of laser marking.
NEAR INFRARED (NIR) LASER PROCESSING OF RESIN BASED ARTICLES
A near infrared (NIR) laser processable resin based article comprising a specific optothermal converting. The specific optothermal converting has an improved thermal stability and therefore renders the preparation of the resin based article more reliable.
CONTAINER COMPRISING A BODY WITH A MARKING ELEMENT AND A METHOD FOR PRODUCING A CONTAINER
A container for holding at least one pharmaceutical composition includes a body that includes a marking element at a location that allows identification of the container. A stress parameter of the body has a value less than or equal to a threshold value at the location. The threshold value is derived and/or derivable from a simulation result of a simulation based on a finite element method of the stress parameter for a surface area and/or a volume area of the body with or without the marking element present. A mean value is obtained or is obtainable by the simulation for the stress parameter for at least a part of the surface area and/or the volume area. The threshold value is the sum of the mean value and 1000% or less of an absolute value of the mean value.
Laser marking system and method for laser marking a workpiece
A laser marking system for marking a predetermined pattern on a workpiece may include a first light source structured to emit first light at a first wavelength; a second light source structured to emit second light at a second wavelength different from the first wavelength and selected to mark a marking surface of the workpiece; beam shaping optics structured to adjust a focal length of the second light; beam steering optics structured to aim the first laser light and the second laser light; a controller configured to control the first light source to emit the first light at the marking surface of the workpiece and control the beam steering optics to aim the second light so as to mark the marking surface of the workpiece and create the first predetermined pattern; and a camera structured to detect first light reflected from the marking surface and record an image.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING DIRECT PART MARKING (DPM) PROCESSES AND GENERATING VISUAL NOTIFICATIONS ON PARTS FOR OPERATORS
A system and method for performing laser marking may include identifying an event performed by a laser marking system. A laser marking unit may be driven to mark the feature on the part. The part may be illuminated with a visible illumination signal to indicate an occurrence of the event in response to identifying the event.
Card-use resin composition having laser-marking coloring properties and card made therewith
The present invention realizes a card-use resin composition that exhibits beautiful colors and that has high laser-marking coloring properties, a card-use resin sheet formed with the card-use resin composition, and a card. The above problem has been solved by a card-use resin composition containing a laser coloring agent and a thermoplastic resin, wherein the thermoplastic resin contains a polycarbonate resin, and the laser coloring agent contains at least one type of black pigment, the primary particle diameter of the black pigment being 40 to 80 nm, and the amount of the black pigment with respect to the entire mass of the card-use resin composition being 20 to 40 mass ppm.
POLYOLEFIN COMPOSITION PROVIDING IMPROVED CONTRAST OF LASER MARKS
The present invention is directed to a polyolefin composition which provides improved contrast of laser marks. It is suitable for many applications where precise marking of a molded article made of a polyolefin composition is required, e.g. as outer layer of a wire or cable or in automotive applications. The polyolefin composition of the present invention comprises a polyolefin, carbon black in an amount of 0.25 to 1.0 wt % and an optical brightener in an amount of 0.001 to 0.1 wt %. The present invention is further directed to a molded article comprising the polyolefin composition of the present invention. Further on, the present invention is directed to the use of the polyolefin composition of the present invention as an outer layer of a cable. Finally, the present invention is directed to a method of inducing print on a molded article by laser printing.
METHOD OF PROVIDING A SECURITY ELEMENT ON A SECURITY DOCUMENT BY LASER MARKING
A method of providing an Optical Variable Device (OVD) and a tactile security element on a security document includes exposing the security document with a laser. The security document includes an overlay provided on a core, and the overlay includes a compound capable or releasing a gas. The OVD and the tactile security element have a metallic appearance.
NEAR INFRARED (NIR) LASER PROCESSING
A method of near infrared (NIR) laser processing a resin based article includes the steps of applying a composition including a specific optothermal converting agent on a surface of the article, and exposing at least part of the applied optothermal converting agent with a NIR laser. The specific optothermal converting has an improved stability towards the environment and therefore renders the laser processing method more reliable.
