Flame retardant laser direct structuring materials
Flame retardant thermoplastic compositions that are capable of being used in a laser direct structuring process. The compositions include a thermoplastic resin, a laser direct structuring additive, and a flame retardant. The compositions offer flame retardant characteristics while also substantially maintaining the mechanical properties of the base thermoplastic resin, such as the impact strength and/or HDT of the composition. The compositions can be used in a variety of applications such as personal computers, notebook and portable computers, cell phone and other such communications equipment.
Optically variable tactile security feature
A security document and method of manufacturing the security document are disclosed. The security document includes a substrate including a laser reactive material and data. The security document also includes an optically variable tactile security feature formed in the laser reactive material, the optically variable tactile security feature including a non-tactile portion and a tactile portion. When viewed at a first viewing angle, the optically variable tactile security feature appears to be a first color, and at a second viewing angle different from the first viewing angle, the optically variable tactile security feature appears to be a second color.
Information writable film and a sample storage body
To provide an information writable film that is chemical and abrasion resistance, and is suitable for high contrast white laser marking. The information writable film comprises a writable film layer 110 and a reading assistance layer 120. The writable film layer 110 is formed into a film shape by thinly stretching a material, which material is a mixture of a color former composition for coloring white when receiving the particular wavelength laser beam by changing its physical and chemical characteristic and a transparent plastic composition. The reading assistance layer 120 is provided enhancing the contrast ratio. The writable film layer 110 is provided with laser coloring properties and chemical and abrasion resistance. During writing, an identification code is written by laser by coloring the color former in the writable film layer 110. During reading, the contrast ratio is enhanced by superimposing the color of the reading assistance layer 120.
LASER-MARKABLE AND LASER-WELDABLE POLYMERIC MATERIALS
The present invention relates to coloured laser-markable and laser-weldable polymeric materials which are distinguished by the fact that they comprise, as absorber, at least one doped tin oxide or indium oxide having a large specific surface area.
LASER MARKED ARTICLES WITH MACHINE READABLE CODES
A sheet of material that is marked with a pulsed laser, having an outer edge and an inner edge separated by a core. There is a first layer beginning at the outer edge and extending into the core less than about 60 micron, and there is a second layer that begins where the first layer ends, is at least about 5 microns from the outer edge, and begins no greater than 60 micron from the outer edge. The first layer is substantially free of laser marking additives, and the second layer has an average concentration of TiO.sub.2 within the range of from about 5.00% to about 12.00% by weight of the second layer.
Container body, laser processing apparatus, and laser processing method
A laser processing apparatus includes: a conveyor to convey a container containing a content in a container body in a conveying direction at a predetermined conveying speed; and a light emitter to emit laser light to a predetermined processing region in the container body conveyed in the conveying direction by the conveyor. A frequency of a vibration of the container body conveyed, in which an amplitude of the vibration of the container body is maximized, is v/L or less, where v is the predetermined conveying speed, and L is a length of the predetermined processing region in the conveying direction.
KEYBOARD DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING KEY FRAME THEREOF
A keyboard device includes a key frame. The key frame includes a main body and a receiving hole. The receiving hole runs through the main body along a vertical direction. A keycap is movable within the receiving hole. The main body includes a first substrate layer, a second substrate layer and a contact layer. The first substrate layer and the second substrate layer are staked along the vertical direction. The contact layer is arranged between the first substrate layer and the second substrate layer. The second substrate layer is combined with the first substrate layer through the contact layer. The first substrate layer is made of a first material. The second substrate layer is made of a second material. The hardness of the second material is lower than the hardness of the first material.
Customizable document for producing a security document, customized security document and production of such a security document
According to one aspect, the invention relates to a customizable document for producing a customized security document (10, 20). The customizable document includes, according to an alternative: a layer (12) which can be customized by contact-free writing an opaque customization mask that is transparent in at least one transparency area (121); a first multilayer film (102) arranged on a first side of the customizable layer (12), including a layer having a high refractive index and encapsulated between two layers having a low refractive index, and structured over at least a portion of the surface thereof such as to form a first subwavelength array, characterized by a first array vector, such that the first multilayer film acts at zero order as a wavelength subtractive filter; a second multilayer film (102) arranged on a second side of the customizable layer, opposite the first side, including a layer having a high refractive index and encapsulated between two layers having a low refractive index, and structured over at least a portion of the surface thereof such as to form a second subwavelength array characterized by a second array vector, such that the second multilayer film acts at zero order as a wavelength subtractive filter, the first and second arrays being at least partially stacked.
Thermochromic material
A print on-demand color shift material which has high reflection, high saturation color and intrinsic, high impact color-shift produced by thermal printing or laser writing for use, for example in security laminates, tax and excise stamps, machine-readable features and banknote foils, and offering a rainbow of colors with full color shifting, producible in full manufacturing scale.
Process for creating sub-surface marking on plastic parts
Techniques or processes for providing markings on products are disclosed. In one embodiment, the products have housings and the markings are to be provided on sub-surfaces of the housings. For example, a housing for a particular product can include an outer housing surface and the markings can be provided on a sub-surface of the outer housing surface yet still be visible from the outside of the housing. Since the markings are beneath the surface of the housing, the markings are durable.
