Thermal marking of 3D printed objects
A method for marking a printed object is disclosed. For example, the method includes printing a three-dimensional (3D) object via a fused filament fabrication (FFF) printer, receiving a desired color marking to be marked on a surface of the 3D object, and controlling a point energy source to emit energy on a thermal treatment layer of the 3D object in accordance with the desired color marking.
Thermal transfer image-receiving sheet
A thermal transfer image-receiving sheet has a primer layer and a receiving layer. The primer layer contains binder resin and metal pigment. When a value obtained by dividing the mass of the metal pigment by the mass of the binder resin is A and the thickness of the primer layer is B, A is 0.5 to 3.5, and A/B is 0.15 to 6. When light is made incident on the surface on the receiving layer side at an incident angle of 45°, ΔL* between L* at a light-receiving angle obtained by tilting specular reflection light, generated when light is made incident on the surface on the receiving layer side at an incident angle of 45°, toward the incident light side by 15° and L* at a light-receiving angle obtained by tilting the specular reflection light toward the incident light side by 110° is 110 or more.
Drawing method, erasing method, and drawing apparatus
A drawing method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes, when performing drawing on a thermal recording medium that includes a light-transmitting member above a recording layer, obtaining information regarding the light-transmitting member, predicting an optical axis deviation of a laser beam in the recording layer from the information regarding the light-transmitting member, and calculating a correction amount from a result of the prediction of the optical axis deviation.
Recording medium and recording device
A recording medium of an embodiment includes a base material; a first color development layer that is located on the base material and absorbs light of a given wavelength to develop color; a second color development layer that is located closer to an incident side of the light than the first color development layer, transmits visible light and the light, and develops a color by heat; and a photothermal conversion layer that is located closer to an incident side of the light than the second color development layer intended to develop a color, transmits the visible light, and absorbs the light to photo-thermally convert the light into the heat.

Thermal transfer printing apparatus and thermal transfer printing method
To stabilize image quality of a printed image. A thermal transfer printing apparatus according to the present invention includes a thermal head and a platen roll and forms an image on printing paper by causing the thermal head to heat an ink ribbon including a plurality of consecutive ink layers, each of which includes sequential panels of a yellow layer, a magenta layer, and a cyan layer and thereby transfer ink while transporting, between the thermal head and the platen roll, the ink ribbon and the printing paper that are superimposed on each other. The thermal transfer printing apparatus includes a sensor that detects ink content of the ink layers and a controller that controls energy applied to the thermal head during image formation on a basis of a result of the detection of the sensor.

IMAGING MEDIUM
Imaging medium includes an image-receiving substrate including a color-forming layer, a donor ribbon attached to the image-receiving substrate and including a color layer, and a repeated pattern. The repeated pattern is defined by a portion of each of the color-forming layer and color layer. A repeat of the pattern includes at least three adjacent colored stripes including a cyan or cyan-forming stripe, a magenta or magenta-forming stripe, and a yellow or yellow-forming stripe. A first of the at least three adjacent stripes is a color-forming stripe in the color-forming layer. A second of the at least three adjacent stripes is a colored stripe in the color layer. A third of the at least three adjacent stripes is either a second color-forming stripe in the color-forming layer or a second colored stripe in the color layer of the donor ribbon.
Photothermal modification of plasmonic structures
There is presented a method for geometrically modifying plasmonic structures on a support structure, such as for printing or recording, said method comprising changing a geometry specifically of plasmonic structures, wherein said changing the geometry is carried out by photothermally melting at least a portion of each of the plasmonic structures within the second plurality of plasmonic structures by irradiating, the plasmonic structures with incident electromagnetic radiation having an incident intensity in a plane of the second plurality of plasmonic structures, wherein said incident intensity is less than an incident intensity required to melt a film of a corresponding material and a corresponding thickness as the plasmonic structures within the second plurality of plasmonic structures.
